(P-1174) We are hiring a Senior Staff Software Engineer for Databricks' Engineering team reporting to an Engineering Leader. You will be part of the Databricks engineering organization, working with teams that develop Databricks products and features for thousands of enterprises worldwide. Key Characteristics As an executive engineering individual contributor at Databricks, you will have full ownership of the product or infrastructure direction in a major area, driving it from initial development to scalable solutions with clear business impact. The Impact you will have: * Solve real business needs at large scale by applying your software engineering. * Deliver a highly scalable, available, and fault-tolerant engine processing hundreds of TB of data daily across thousands of customers * Low level systems debugging, performance measurement & optimization on large production clusters. * Build architecture design, influence product roadmap, and take ownership and responsibility over new projects * Use your deep experience to help prevent and investigate production issues. * Plan and lead complicated technical projects that work with several teams within the company. * A strong influencer or driver in the organization’s roadmap and direction. * Lead a TLG or similar review committee, or initiate and sustain an org/eng-wide initiative driven by engineering needs. * Break down complex problems quickly into potential solutions, knowns, and unknowns, and de-risk (through prototyping/validation). * Contribute as a Technical Team Lead by mentoring others, lead sprint planning, delegating work and assignments to team members and participate in project planning. We are seeking an experienced Sr. Staff Software Engineer with deep networking expertise to help shape the future of Databricks’ Networking Infrastructure. As one of the early members of the rapidly growing Bangalore site, you will play a critical role in defining the technical vision and architecture for next-generation network connectivity & observability services that will power & manage millions of VMs across multiple clouds.  In this role, you will own and drive the design of large-scale connectivity platforms that form the backbone between Databricks’ control plane and compute plane. These platforms are foundational to improving the scalability, reliability, and efficiency of our compute infrastructure, while enabling more intelligent and cost-effective use of cloud resources. You will operate at an org-wide level, setting technical direction, leading complex cross-team initiatives, and mentoring senior engineers. You’ll work closely with product management, operations, and partner engineering teams to translate long-term business goals into durable, extensible networking systems. This role requires both hands-on technical leadership and the ability to influence architecture and execution across teams. This is a unique opportunity for a senior technical leader who enjoys working in ambiguous problem spaces and is motivated by solving novel, multi-cloud distributed systems challenges at massive scale. You'll focus on optimizing SQLDrivers for performance, improved reliability and telemetry to offer seamless connectivity to our partners and enterprise customers, while also maintaining open source repositories and actively engaging with the developer community. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, architect solutions, and implement robust systems that enable our partners to connect seamlessly to the Databricks platform, ultimately driving Data Warehousing revenue and customer satisfaction.   The impact you'll have: As a Staff Software Engineer working on the Partner Ecosystem team, you will get to build and evolve a set of highly performant and resilient Databricks SQL connectors for partners and enterprise customers enabling them to connect to Databricks SQL seamlessly and derive meaningful insights from data. In addition to that, you will get to evolve our Partner Connect offering, helping grow the elite partner ecosystem within Databricks.You will achieve this by being customer obsessed, raising the bar on open source community engagement, being hands-on in building the product, closely collaborating with the product team.
