The Staff SET Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Staff Software Engineer in Test to join our Identity Management Engineering (IDM) team serving the Privileged Access Team (PAM). This team is passionate about delivering large-scale, mission-critical software in a fast-paced Agile environment. In this role you'll be working with a team of highly-skilled and talented engineers, responsible for delivering sophisticated backend solutions that help Okta reliably operate at large scale and be highly available. As part of the team, you’ll be ensuring projects are completed with the highest quality and reliability using automation at every level for fast, robust and secure releases. We're looking for someone with a tester's mindset who can understand code, databases and data structures and collaborate effectively with our engineering teams to ensure high-quality software. Experience with Databases: Have used databases such as MongoDb or SQL to store configuration or user data, understand tradeoffs between persistence and performance, and have used optimizations in these areas. Familiarity with indexes, query planners a plus. The ability to understand complex join queries and model datasets that leverage them. * Microservices & Kubernetes Exposure: High-level understanding of Kubernetes (K8s) and microservices architecture. * Public Cloud Experience: Familiarity with public cloud environments, AWS and Azure.  * A "Developer" Mindset: You're passionate about digging into code, understanding system behavior, and proactively identifying areas for optimization.
