At voize, we believe the greatest gift to frontline workers is time - time to care, connect, and be present. Today, that time is
lost to busywork and complex systems that pull them away from what matters most: people.
Our vision is to change that by building AI companions that seamlessly take over digital workflows. We don't replace humans with
technology - we amplify their impact.
Our mission is backed with a $50M Series A funding led by Balderton Capital, with support from HV Capital, Y Combinator and other

actually improves work loops. You’ll turn scattered individual hacks into repeatable practices. Your core mission is to transform
voize into an AI-first company and enable everyone to become truly AI-native.

At Upvest, we are on a mission to make investing as easy as spending money. Upvest empowers businesses to offer a wide range of investment products and the best experience in the field of capital market investment and retirement planning. Upvest's Investment API is easy to integrate so that fintechs and financial institutions can save resources and fully focus on their core business. We are proud to partner with Europe's leading fintechs and financial institutions such as DKB, Revolut, N26 and Raisin. Founded in 2017 by Martin Kassing, Upvest now brings together over 270 talented professionals from more than 70 nationalities. We're backed by world-class investors such as Hedosophia, Sapphire, Bessemer Venture Partners, BlackRock, Earlybird, HV Capital, Notion Capital, and Motive Ventures. ABOUT THE ROLE As we enter our next stage of growth, we are looking for an exceptional Applied AI Engineer to join our Engineering team, reporting directly to Yurii Opryshko and working closely together with our SVP Engineering Roberto Fajardo, as well as our business functions. This is a senior individual contributor role at the frontier of how Upvest leverages AI to fundamentally change how our teams work. AI is reshaping how financial infrastructure companies operate — and at Upvest, we're moving fast. As our first dedicated Applied AI hire, you won't be joining a function: you'll be building one. Own our AI implementation at Upvest You will identify where AI creates the most leverage across the business, help select and integrate the right tooling, and ship solutions that teams actually use. This is a hands-on senior IC role with direct impact on how 290+ people work every day. You will connect our AI tools to Upvest's internal systems, integrating Claude and other LLMs with our internal tools, APIs, and data sources via the Model Context Protocol (MCP), building lightweight integrations where needed, and expanding that connectivity as our use cases grow. You'll identify high-impact automation opportunities, build end-to-end workflows using tools like n8n, and make pragmatic calls about when a simple automation beats a complex agent. You lead with the opportunity, not the technology. Work as in-house AI consultant and with each Upvenger to shape their daily work Equally important is your role as an in-house AI consultant. You'll work 1:1 with others across the business, from engineers to operations to client facing teams, helping them rethink and optimise how they work with AI. You'll run discovery sessions, write internal playbooks, and coach colleagues on prompt engineering and AI tooling. Upvest is a BaFin and FCA regulated firm. You understand the constraints that come with that and know how to navigate data privacy, compliance, and audit requirements without needing to be convinced they're real. WHAT YOU BRING * AI Native: Hands-on experience shipping AI agents and building end-to-end automations with tools like n8n. You move fast and stay current. * MCP experience: You've built or worked with MCP servers and know how to connect LLMs to internal tools, APIs and data sources. * Coaching mindset: You've upskilled non-technical teams on AI tooling and driven real adoption — not just built and handed off. * Pragmatism: You define ROI, iterate, and ship — you don't over-engineer. A simple deterministic automation beats a complex agent when appropriate. * Business acumen: You connect technical work to business outcomes — you think in terms of impact, not just implementation. * Stakeholder skills: You can run discovery sessions and present confidently to senior, non-technical audiences. * Regulated industry experience: You've worked in fintech or a closely adjacent field and understand compliance constraints first-hand. * Background: 5+ years in a scale-up, in roles such as solutions engineer, technical consultant, AI product engineer, or similar. * Location: Based in Berlin (mandatory). English required; German a plus. This is not a data science role. We are looking for someone who applies and deploys AI, not someone who trains models or builds ML pipelines. HOW WE UPVEST IN YOU * Best-in-class AI tools: Every Upvenger has €20,000 per year to spend on the best AI tools available — so you're always working with the most powerful models and tooling on the market. * Work with experts: Join a mission-driven engineering team solving hard, real-world problems at the intersection of AI and regulated financial infrastructure. * Professional development: Access an annual budget of €1,500 for personal and professional training to master your craft. * Wellbeing: Recharge with 30 days of annual leave and maintain a healthy lifestyle with sports benefits. Access confidential professional coaching and enjoy the flexibility to work remotely abroad for up to 183 days a year. * Compensation and equity: We believe that all Upvengers contribute to our success and deserve a competitive, above-market salary and a participation in our employee equity program. * Flexible work environment: This role is based in Berlin. We are committed to flexibility — we understand you don't always have to be in the office to do your best work. * Team celebrations: Participate in company-wide events such as UpFest, dinners, offsites and our holiday party to connect with colleagues and celebrate our achievements. OUR VALUES * Make it easy for others. We simplify the complex and act with the best intentions. * Own the outcome. We are proactive, fast and confident to get the job done, valuing progress over perfection. * Rise to the challenge. We aim high and push the boundaries. We stay curious, learn and celebrate our wins together. * Tell the story. We start with the Why to align on purpose. We are transparent and share knowledge to empower and inspire others. Upvest is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
OUR STORY: Every year millions of people are either filing their taxes in fear or giving up on their tax refund altogether. We're working on fixing that. Our intuitive app enables anyone, regardless of education or background, to file their taxes with newfound confidence. Spread across Germany, Spain and the UK, the team at Taxfix Group with its brands Taxfix and Steuerbot, is a compassionate group of solution-finders. We speak our minds openly, and with over 400 professionals, including tax experts, developers, and IT security experts, we're rich in ideas and voices. The group has facilitated more than 3.5 billion euros in tax refunds for its customers since its founding in 2016. THE OPPORTUNITY: As our Staff Systems Engineer within the IT & Infrastructure team, you'll be responsible for keeping the enterprise systems that power Taxfix running reliably, securely, and intelligently — from cloud infrastructure and identity management to network, device, and application performance. Reporting to our Director of IT & Infrastructure, and collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders across the business, you'll architect and operate the backbone that enables every team at Taxfix to do their best work. In a company that moves fast and thinks big, you'll be the person who makes sure the foundation never wobbles. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: * Maintain and operate enterprise cloud infrastructure that serves employees and internal systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security at all times. * Lead and evolve identity management across the enterprise — including platform management and Okta — developing concepts and processes to govern both human and agentic identities in a scalable, secure way. * Support the integration of new tools and systems based on business requirements, owning the technical evaluation, onboarding, and configuration end to end. * Ensure enterprise systems remain up to date, with security configurations, patches, and compliance standards consistently applied across the board. * Maintain security backups and redundancies for enterprise infrastructure, proactively identifying and closing gaps before they become incidents. * Manage and improve network, device management, and systems, keeping the environment stable, modern, and fit for a growing, hybrid workforce. * Develop automations, AI-powered and agentic solutions, and scripts that reduce manual toil and improve the efficiency of infrastructure maintenance. * Provide third-level support for cloud applications, acting as the deepest technical escalation point for complex issues and enablement of internal app deployment. * Collaborate with SRE and platform engineering to assess risk, develop guardrails, and resolve incidents together with application owners. * Collaborate with the Director of IT to continuously improve the enterprise architecture and infrastructure landscape, contributing strategic thinking alongside hands-on execution. * Own performance tuning of application stacks, including communication and messaging between applications, load management, and components such as Apache and Ruby. YOUR PROFILE * You bring strong, hands-on experience in enterprise cloud administration — ideally with GCP — and know how to design, operate, and scale cloud environments that real businesses depend on. * You have solid practical experience with Kubernetes, containerisation, and virtualisation technologies such as Docker and VMware, and you're comfortable navigating complex, layered infrastructure. * Your networking knowledge is deep and grounded — TCP/IP and related protocols are second nature to you, and you can diagnose and resolve network issues with confidence. * You implement best practices for network security and governance, ensuring that access, segmentation, and policy controls are consistently applied and continuously improved. * You're proficient in at least one scripting or programming language such as Python or shell, and you use code as a tool to make infrastructure smarter and more maintainable. * You have hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Google Workspace and Linux environments, and you know how to keep them healthy and secure. * You've set up and improved monitoring and visualisation systems, and you understand how good observability translates into faster incident response and better decision-making. * A background in engineering or computer science is a plus — what matters most is that you bring structured thinking and hands-on experience to make systems work together. WHY TAXFIX? * A chance to do meaningful, people-centric work with an international team of passionate professionals. * Holistic well-being with free mental health coaching sessions and yoga. * A monthly allowance to spend on an extensive range of services that you can use and roll over as flexibly as you like. * Employee stock options for all employees—because everyone deserves to benefit from the success they help to create. * 30 annual vacation days and flexible working hours. * A generous learning budget to support your personal and professional development and guidance from our internal L&D experts. * Work from abroad for up to six weeks every year. Just align with your team, and then enjoy your trip. * Plenty of opportunities to socialise as a team. In addition to internal meetups, our international team hosts regular get-togethers—virtually and in person when possible. * Free tax declaration filing, of course, through the Taxfix app—and internal support for all personal tax-related questions. * Have a four-legged friend in your life? We’re happy to have dogs join us in the office. Excited? So are we. Learn more about Team Taxfix on our blog and get a glimpse of our culture.
