What We Offer
JOB VACANCY THE ROLE We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Residential Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive at Associate level to join our team in our Marks Tey office. This role is both a unique and interesting vacancy to work alongside the Residential Property Partner and create a new Residential Property team within the overall Residential Property Department of the firm from this location. You will be located within our new Private Client Hub and work alongside with our HNW, Family and Private Client fee earners to build our offering to our new and existing clients in this geographical area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a broad range of residential property experience and an appetite for business development to build on the existing foundations and reputation of a strongly performing department and help carve out a new team to support its growth further. You’ll be joining a well-established Residential Property team that handles a broad spectrum of matters and complex title issues. The team works with a diverse client base spanning the full range of residential property types. Day to day you will be handling a varied caseload that will encompass the full cycle of residential property matters including freehold and lease conveyancing, re-mortgages, lease extensions and transfers of equity, transfers of part, refinancing and small development sales. This role offers the chance to take on meaningful responsibility, contribute to business development, support, develop and mentor junior team members and demonstrate excellent client care skills, all within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. This is an exciting time to join Holmes & Hills. Having invested a significant amount of funding and effort in our growth over the last 5 years, we are now in a strong position to utilise that growth in developing our service offering further and increasing the profitability of the firm. This role has real potential to be part of some exciting times ahead for the Firm! WHAT EXPERIENCE DO I NEED? Ideally you will be a qualified solicitor (or Senior Charted Legal Executive) with solid experience (at least 3 years PQE) in residential property law, ideally gained at a reputable regional or national firm. You should be confident managing your own caseload and delivering high-quality service to clients. Experience in mentoring or supervising junior colleagues would be beneficial, as would a proactive approach to business development and maintaining client relationships. We are particularly interested in candidates with the following range of expertise: * Freehold and Leasehold Sales & Purchases; * Transfers of equity; * Re-mortgages; * Equity Release; * Refinancing; * Transfers of Parts; * Drafting of a range of Deeds for the grant and release of easements and covenants etc. You will have a proven track record in delivering high quality conveyancing work under minimal supervision. This nature of this new role brings a requirement to demonstrate strong business development and marketing appetite, so the successful candidate must be commercially aware and possess excellent relationship building and communication skills. The right candidate will have excellent client care skills and be able to take a flexible approach to meeting clients’ expectations of client contact. They must be confident and competent in technical aspects of Residential Property and Land Law and not just the process itself. WHAT SKILLS SHOULD I HAVE? * Exceptional communication skills * Self-motivated and results orientated * Commercially aware and client focused * Team player * Flexible approach to client service WHAT ARE WE OFFERING? * A supportive, relaxed and flexible work environment in an experienced and growing team. * 28 days holiday per year, plus bank holidays * Medicash after 1 years’ service at an enhanced level * Life Insurance * EAP and various other physical and mental wellbeing support services including virtual GP access 24/7 * Family friendly policies such as enhanced maternity and paternity pay plus, family events leave * Company sick pay * Cycle scheme At Holmes & Hills we are proud to have a culture of sharing, collaboration and mutual respect.
