What We Need
Hangar 13 is in search of an experienced and highly skilled Gameplay Designer who has a passion for creating compelling gameplay
features and mechanics. You will take ownership of large portions of the player character, driving core combat and
moment-to-moment gameplay from initial ideation to final implementation. Working closely in cross-discipline pods, you will ensure
these features are fun, balanced, and seamlessly integrated into the overall player experience.

What We Need Hangar 13 is in search of an experienced and highly skilled AI Designer who has a passion for creating engaging AI Systems and Behaviours that provide great gameplay and help sell the fantasy of the game. You enjoy analyzing AI and Player behaviours and want to create novel gameplay experiences. What You’ll Be Doing: * Own the feature development, design, and implementation of complex AI behaviors and systems for both combat and non-combat NPCs, from prototype through shipping * Design and implement new character archetypes and their associated abilities and logic, ensuring they fit the game's vision and offer novel gameplay experiences * Drive cross-discipline collaboration within feature pods (Engineering, Animation, Gameplay) to implement, tune, and balance AI systems and player encounters * Ensure player clarity by designing behaviors that clearly communicate AI intention, enabling players to understand and plan their actions accordingly * Analyze, validate, and incorporate feedback from team members and external user testing to continuously refine the AI experience. * Develop and evangelize best practices for AI content creation and system utilization across the entire design team * Author and maintain high-quality design documentation for owned features and core AI systems. Reports to Associate Mission Design Director Job Title Principal Mission Designer What We Need Hangar 13 is looking for an experienced Principal Mission Designer to join the team in Brighton and help to form the core of a new design group. As far as our games are concerned, Missions are stories the player can experience that combine incredible level design, smart use of mechanics and interesting characters to surprise and delight. What You’ll Be Doing: * You will own highly complex, high-impact story missions, driving them from early concept through to final polish and release. * You will design memorable mission locations, pitch and develop captivating narrative scenarios, and script complex logic using Blueprint and our suite of internal tools. * You will cooperate with a multidisciplinary team of developers to ensure all aspects of the in-game experience fit the tone and creative vision of the project. * You will work closely with the Mission Design Lead and other stakeholders to help define, champion, document and maintain efficient workflows, tools and best practices to boost the team’s efficiency. * You will mentor, onboard, and elevate senior and mid-level designers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, rigorous feedback, and top-tier design principles. What We’re Looking For: * Exceptional, proven design skills both conceptually (on paper/documentation) and technically (in-engine). * Deep expertise in creating complex 3D layouts that intuitively guide the player, telegraph affordances, ensure correct pacing, and emotional engagement. * Expert-level scripting capabilities in Blueprint (or similar systems) and the ability to diagnose and fix complex technical issues. * Outstanding collaboration and communication skills, with a track record of successfully aligning multi-disciplinary teams across multiple global locations. * Released multiple high-profile AAA titles in a Senior or Principal Level/Mission Design capacity. * Deep, production-proven experience with Unreal Engine.
