Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Platform Architect to shape, govern, and continuously evolve the platform that underpins all current
and future products. This is a senior, hands-on architecture role focused on platform coherence, composability, and long-term
sustainability - not individual application design.
The Platform Architect is accountable for the clarity and quality of architectural decisions and for how architecture shows up in
day-to-day delivery. This is not an ivory-tower role. Success is measured by clear decisions, lightweight governance, and
architecture that teams actively use to move faster - rather than by documents alone.

We fuse together exceptional talent who deliver outstanding software solutions. Our approach has helped us grow 60% in 2021, 94% in 2022, while in 2023 we joined forces with Insight, a Fortune 500 company and a leading solutions and systems integrator. With exciting growth plans and cutting-edge projects, there has never been a better time to join our incredible team. Job Description The Data & Information Architect is accountable for defining and embedding a shared Data & Analytics architecture. This role provides practical architectural guardrails, establishes clear ownership and decision rights for data domains, and enables analytics use cases to be delivered through standard, compliant patterns - without ad-hoc data handling or policy exceptions. You will work across product, platform, and domain teams to ensure data is modelled consistently, governed effectively, and usable for operational, analytical, and advanced analytics use cases. Main Duties and Responsibilities Data & Analytics Architecture * Define, document, and maintain the target Data & Analytics architecture, covering data domains, ingestion pipelines, analytics layers, and access patterns. * Contribute to the definition of architectural guardrails that explain what teams must do—not just what they must avoid. * Provide approved (“golden path”) patterns for data ingestion, analytics, and reporting aligned with security, privacy, and governance requirements. Common Domain & Canonical Modelling * Define and govern the Common Domain Model, establishing shared semantic definitions for core maritime concepts such as vessel, seafarer, voyage, cargo, port call, certificate, and contract. * Design and evolve a technology-neutral Canonical Data Model (CDM) to standardise data exchange for targeted integrations. * Ensure consistency between operational data models and analytical representations to support reporting and advanced analytics. Ownership, Governance & Decision-Making * Establish and document clear ownership and stewardship for data domains, datasets, and analytics platforms. * Define decision rights and resolve cross-domain data design conflicts in collaboration with domain and platform leaders. * Drive metadata management, glossary definitions, and lineage standards to improve discoverability, traceability, and regulatory compliance (e.g. IMO, EU MRV, ESG). Analytics Enablement * Ensure the data architecture enables scalable reporting, self-service analytics, and ML-ready data without ad-hoc handling. * Work with analytics and data scientists to align data structures, pipelines, and access patterns with real analytical use cases. * Balance operational and analytical needs across real-time events, reporting, and historical analysis. Collaboration & Architecture Practice * Embed data architecture decisions into Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and architecture review forums. * Act as a bridge between domain experts, product managers, platform teams, and delivery teams to ensure data architecture is understood, adopted, and applied. * Contribute to the evolution of platform-wide architecture standards and review practices. Standards & Industry Alignment * Align the company's data models with relevant maritime and logistics standards (e.g. S-100, IMO/ISO/EDIFACT, BIMCO, DCSA) where appropriate, while supporting proprietary innovation. * Evaluate emerging data and analytics practices and recommend improvements aligned with the company's strategy. Skills and Qualifications * 5+ years’ experience in data architecture, information architecture, or enterprise data modelling roles. * Strong expertise in canonical data modelling and semantic modelling across complex, distributed systems. * Experience defining data architectures that support both operational and analytical use cases. * Familiarity with event-driven architectures, APIs, and cloud-native data platforms (e.g. data lakes, data hubs, event buses). * Proven experience working with domain-driven design (DDD) teams in agile product organisations. * Ability to influence decisions and drive adoption without formal authority. Our approach has helped us grow 60% in 2021, 94% in 2022, while in 2023 we joined forces with Insight, a Fortune 500 company and a leading solutions and systems integrator. With exciting growth plans and cutting-edge projects, there has never been a better time to join our incredible team. DESCRIPTION A global maritime technology organization, established through the collaboration of leading aviation and maritime industry experts, combines aviation-grade digital capabilities with deep maritime operational knowledge to deliver the next generation of digital solutions for the shipping industry. The company develops innovative products on a unified, cloud-native, and composable platform designed to accelerate digital transformation across maritime operations. We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst to play a pivotal role in shaping, clarifying, and enabling delivery across a strategic transformation portfolio. This is a value-centric role operating at the intersection of business intent, product strategy, platform capabilities, and delivery execution. Business Analysis is not viewed as a downstream documentation function. The Business Analyst actively collaborates with Product Owners, Product Managers, Project Managers, Architects, and Engineering teams to ensure that business needs are correctly understood, coherently structured, and translated into deliverable outcomes that realise value. BUSINESS ANALYST RESPONSIBILITIES Business & Value Analysis * Engage with business stakeholders, domain experts, and operational teams to understand needs, pain points, objectives, and constraints across maritime operations and digital processes. * Analyse and articulate business problems and opportunities, ensuring they are framed in a way that supports value-driven decision-making. * Define and document business requirements, outcomes, and success measures with clarity, precision, and traceability to the company's objectives. * Support value identification and prioritisation by helping Product and Delivery leadership understand impact, dependencies, and trade-offs. Product & Delivery Collaboration * Work closely with Product Owners to refine epics, features, and user stories, ensuring clarity of intent, acceptance criteria, and readiness for delivery. * Partner with Product Managers to ensure business analysis aligns with product strategy, roadmap direction, and desired customer or operational outcomes. * Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure requirements are sequenced, scoped, and structured in a way that supports predictable and integrated delivery. * Act as a connective tissue between business, product, and delivery disciplines, ensuring shared understanding and reducing rework and ambiguity. Requirements Definition & Structuring * Translate complex business needs into clear, structured artefacts such as user stories, use cases, process models, functional/non-functional requirements, and data definitions. * Ensure requirements are complete, consistent, testable, and aligned with platform standards and architectural principles. * Support backlog readiness by ensuring requirements are sufficiently elaborated ahead of delivery without over-specification. * Maintain traceability between business objectives, requirements, delivery items, and realised outcomes. Process, Data & Domain Modelling * Analyse and model business processes (current and future state), identifying inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement through digital solutions. * Contribute to data and domain modelling efforts, ensuring shared understanding of key business entities, relationships, and rules across teams. * Support SmartSea’s platform and composable architecture approach by helping ensure business logic and processes are consistently expressed across products and services. Delivery Support & Validation * Support delivery teams during implementation by clarifying requirements, answering questions, and validating understanding. * Participate in reviews, demos, and acceptance activities to ensure delivered solutions meet intended business needs and quality expectations. * Work with QA and stakeholders to support acceptance testing and validation of outcomes against defined requirements and success criteria. Continuous Improvement & Ways of Working * Contribute to the continuous improvement of the company's analysis practices, templates, and standards within the Value Delivery / Enterprise Value Office construct. * Identify recurring issues in requirement clarity, handovers, or decision-making and propose practical improvements. * Support the evolution of the company's system of work by promoting clarity, shared language, and evidence-based decision-making. Ways of Working * Operate effectively within a product-led, hybrid Agile delivery environment, adapting analysis depth and approach based on context, risk, and delivery needs. * Balance upfront analysis with iterative discovery, avoiding both under-specification and analysis paralysis. * Facilitate workshops, refinement sessions, and working discussions that improve alignment, shared understanding, and decision quality. * Promote transparency, collaboration, and accountability across business, product, and delivery teams. BUSINESS ANALYST REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). * 3–6 years of experience in a Business Analyst role within digital, software, or platform-based environments. * Proven experience working within Agile or product-centric delivery models. * Strong experience in requirements elicitation, user story definition, acceptance criteria, and process modelling. * Familiarity with techniques such as BPMN, use cases, process mapping, and value stream analysis. * Strong ability to reason about business outcomes, constraints, and trade-offs, not just features. * Comfortable collaborating with engineers and architects, with sufficient technical literacy to challenge assumptions and clarify feasibility. * Exposure to SaaS platforms, cloud-native architectures, or low-code environments is an advantage. * Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and Kanban practices, particularly backlog refinement and sprint collaboration. * Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and evolving requirements. * Structured, detail-oriented mindset combined with strong systems thinking. * Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills. * High attention to detail, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. * Comfortable operating in ambiguity and helping teams move from problem space to clarity.
