Your Core Responsibilities: * Apply rigorous analytical and quantitative techniques to solve complex problems * Build custom tools to explore new research ideas * Design mathematical models based upon trading ideas * Implement and deploy new models into production * Maintain best practices to keep our systems logical and consistent Your Skills and Experience: * Current university student graduating between September 2026 – July 2027 that is pursuing a PhD degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or another highly quantitative field * Has a passion for research and problem solving * Approaches data analysis with rigorous thought processes and strong intuition * Is a creative thinker who is driven and eager to solve challenging problems collaboratively * Proficiency in a programming language (Python, C, C++, etc) is highly desired * Must be available for full-time employment starting in February or August 2027 You may submit one application per role each year. Our 10-week internship is your chance to experience life as a Quant Researcher at IMC. You will work alongside your mentor to explore new research ideas and build custom analysis tools that may be deployed into production. Throughout the summer, there will be opportunities to enhance your knowledge of options theory, market making, algorithm complexity and trades analysis. We provide a highly competitive compensation package with accommodations included. The bar for talent at IMC is high and interns who meet our performance expectations will have the opportunity to secure a full time Graduate Quant Researcher position at the end of the program. Responsibilities * Work with teammates to assist and learn all facets of automated trading * Develop expertise in market microstructure, tick data, and automated trading systems * Build and maintain trading quantitative model tools and analytics * Develop, code, maintain and support production quality automated trading strategies REQUIREMENTS * Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done. * Passion for math and software applied to markets and trading * Demonstrate expertise in computing, math, probability, statistics, and finance. Candidates without graduate school level math background will not be considered. * Programming proficiency and experience (C++, C#, Python, R). Linux scripting a plus. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to work within a team in a fast paced environment * Pursuing BS, MS, or PhD in a technical field
