As a Project Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in bringing residential, commercial, mixed-use development, and renewable energy projects to life. You’ll be part of a highly experienced, collaborative, forward-thinking survey team that values precision, creativity, and growth. This role gives you the autonomy to manage projects from start to finish, supported by experienced office and field teams. What You’ll Do * Partner closely with Project Managers to develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules for land development projects of all sizes. * Lead and oversee boundary, ALTA/NSPS, topographic, and construction surveys with accuracy and efficiency. * Use your technical expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center to process data, create detailed plats, exhibits, and maps, and ensure high-quality deliverables. * Review and verify survey calculations and field data, ensuring precision and compliance with project standards. * Collaborate daily with engineers, contractors, and clients - you’ll be the trusted survey voice on the team. * Continue developing your skills through paid training, industry events, and professional networking opportunities. What You Bring * A deep understanding of Boundary Surveys, ALTA Surveys, Legal Descriptions, Easements, Title Review, and Real Estate Documents. * Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center - you know how to turn data into accuracy and insight. * Experience with Trimble field equipment preferred. * Prior field crew experience is a plus - you understand both sides of the process. * LSIT or PLS certification desired (multi-state licensure a plus). Atwell is seeking a Survey Field Technician to support residential, commercial, and mixed-use land development projects throughout the Phoenix metro area. This is an opportunity to work alongside experienced survey professionals, gain hands-on field experience, and contribute to projects that help drive the growth of one of the nation's most active development markets. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Assist survey crews on residential, commercial, and land development projects throughout the Greater Phoenix area. * Perform field activities including topographic surveys, construction staking, boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, and as-built surveys. * Operate and maintain modern survey equipment safely and efficiently. * Support construction layout, monument placement, field measurements, and data collection. * Work closely with Crew Chiefs and project teams to deliver accurate, high-quality survey data. * Develop technical skills and gain exposure to a wide variety of land development projects. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Required * High School Diploma or GED. * Valid driver's license. * Basic understanding of mathematics, geometry, algebra, and trigonometry. * Ability to work outdoors and travel to project sites throughout the region. Preferred * Previous survey experience or internship experience. * Familiarity with boundary, ALTA, topographic, or construction surveys. * CST Certification (Level I, II, or III).
