JOB DESCRIPTION We’re looking for a Head of Engineering (m/f/d) / Technical Lead (m/f/d) - someone who combines architectural vision, delivery focus, and hands-on leadership. You’ll guide multiple squads, ensure engineering quality, and help teams ship effectively while staying close enough to the code to unblock issues and keep the system moving. YOUR TASKS * Partner with Product: turn product goals into actionable, outcome-focused technical plan with a strong understanding of how modern apps and platform services interact with a grown product portfolio anchored by a mission-critical ERP  * Lead technical direction across multiple initiatives: design, trade-offs, platform evolution, and system integrity  * Own architecture: define clear technical patterns and guardrails that balance speed with maintainability  * Be the escalation point for engineers: support teams in resolving complex technical issues, with the backing of the VP of Engineering  * Raise engineering quality: strengthen testing, CI/CD, release practices, observability, and performance  * Drive operational excellence: guide incident response, security improvements, and reliability reviews  * Drive AI transformation in engineering: help your team to effectively work with AI tools through the complete SDLC * Grow teams technically: mentor tech leads and senior engineers  YOUR PROFILE * Strong hands-on cloud architecture experience (AWS preferred): scaling, load balancing, messaging, caching, and deployment automation  * Deep experience with C# / .NET and Angular; familiarity with PostgreSQL and Azure SQL. DATA SCIENCE & PREDICTIVE ML * Market Intelligence: Drive the development of predictive models, anomaly detection, and optimization algorithms tailored to the energy trading domain. * Core DS Leadership: Oversee the transition of Data Science from product-specific silos into a centralized powerhouse that provides advanced analytics across the entire enmacc ecosystem. * Statistical Rigor: Maintain high standards for model validation, feature engineering, and experimental design. 2. MODERN AI & LLM ADOPTION * Generative Strategy: Lead the adoption of LLMs and Generative AI. This includes building production-ready RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems, agentic workflows, and NLP solutions for unstructured trading data (chats, news, contracts). * AI Productization: Move beyond "wrappers" to build deeply integrated AI features that solve complex domain problems, focusing on evaluation frameworks and cost-efficient scaling. * Rapid Prototyping: Foster a culture of fast experimentation with the latest AI research to keep enmacc at the cutting edge. * Strategic Leadership: Build and lead a unified Data & AI group, integrating existing specialists (Data Engineering, ML Engineering, and Data Science) into a high-velocity team. * AI & LLM Roadmap: Lead the development and deployment of LLM-powered features. This includes exploring RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) for domain knowledge, automated trade summarization, and intelligent market assistants. * Product Innovation: Drive the ML roadmap for product development, identifying where predictive modeling and NLP can create a competitive advantage in energy and commodity markets. * Technical Excellence: Provide hands-on technical mentorship. Your mission: drive repair quality, cost efficiency, and vehicle availability across the market — keeping our fleet running smoothly and our operations performing at their best.   The role - your passion * Own the Maintenance & Repair (M&R) budget and ensure cost-efficient, high-quality repairs across the market such as Repair Strategy, Workshop Network, Spare Parts Inventory * Define repair strategies per vehicle based on damage reports and operational priorities. * Maintain strong vehicle availability by coordinating workshop capacity, scheduling, and spare parts flow. * Build and optimize the internal and external workshop network to improve turnaround times and cost efficiency. * Lead and develop station repair teams, ensuring consistent performance and technical capability, damage detection rates and sparte parts inventory. * Track key KPIs such as repair cost, time, and damage detection accuracy to drive continuous improvement.   What You Need To Surf The Wave With Us * Degree or Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or similar technical field. * 5+ years of experience in fleet maintenance, repair, or workshop management. * 2+ years of direct people management experience, preferably in a technical and operational environment * Strong analytical and budgeting skills with a focus on efficiency and quality. * Confident leader with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. * Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-site environment; travel to internal stations and external vendors within the market required. * Fluency in German and English, written and spoken * Proficient in maintenance or fleet management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
