Our International Indirect Tax Advisory function is responsible for determining the taxability of new products, managing indirect
tax audits and relationships with local tax authorities, and partnering with our indirect tax systems and compliance leads on
day-to-day matters. We work cross-functionally across finance, product, and engineering — and we're looking for a sharp,

ABOUT THE TEAM WHAT YOU'LL DO Stripe's mission is to increase the GDP of the internet. We build the most powerful and flexible tools for running an internet business. Our tax team works with Stripes across the company to develop an efficient tax structure as our international business scales and expands into new markets. This role focuses on Stripe Managed Payments (SMP), our Merchant of Record (MoR) product, which simplifies global selling by handling tax, fraud, and compliance on behalf of our users. We're looking for a seasoned tax professional to navigate the complexities of shifting tax liability and help lead this effort. You'll be based in the US and report to the Indirect Tax advisory lead. RESPONSIBILITIES • Be an indirect tax subject matter expert (global VAT/GST) for our Merchant of Record product, specifically managing the complexity of shifting tax liability via marketplace and agency rules • Support Stripe's expansion into new international markets, ensuring SMP remains compliant with varying global tax regulations • Participate in policy matters affecting indirect taxes internationally • Collaborate with the international indirect tax compliance team and the international accounting teams on VAT/GST compliance, assisting with the ongoing enhancement of the indirect tax compliance processes • Support management of indirect tax audits and other indirect tax matters involving tax authorities internationally • Work with other tax team members and product and engineering teams to help define requirements and collaborate on the design and build of tax solutions for the MoR product • Promote indirect tax awareness and knowledge including training and liaising with business and tax partners on changes to indirect tax legislation, systems, policies, and processes WHO YOU ARE We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS • 4–6 years of relevant indirect tax knowledge, laws, and regulations • Bachelor's degree and professional qualification in tax or law • Previous in-house experience within a multinational business and either legal or accountancy firm experience • Experience with indirect taxes as it relates to the distribution of digital services • Proven experience navigating the complexities of VAT/GST for a digital service provider acting as a Marketplace or Merchant of Record PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • An advanced degree • Experience working in technology, payments, or financial services • Experience working in a high-growth, rapidly scaling environment • A willingness to work with a diverse crew of tax nerds who care deeply about Stripe's tax issues and each other

Partner closely with business leaders, tax authorities, auditors, external advisors, and Agoda’s group brands to deliver timely reporting and enable new product and market launches across multiple legal entities. This role blends accounting leadership, projects, and internal consulting. You’ll lead cross-functional projects to improve balance-sheet reconciliations, streamline one‑off adjustments, and design scalable end‑to‑end processes that reduce cycle times and strengthen controls. You’ll also help craft a long‑term vision for the teams you influence and mentor colleagues to raise technical and process capabilities. If you’re motivated by systems transformation, measurable impact, and working in an agile environment with varied products and stakeholders, this role gives you the autonomy and scope to make it happen In this Role, you’ll get to: Financial Accounts * Prepare complete details and accurate accounts for all entities, including a group consolidation * Manage month-end and year-end closes in a fast-paced, deadline-driven and regulated environment, and drive continuous improvement of close processes * Report accurate, timely and insightful monthly management accounts and financial updates for management review * Motivate management accounting/nominal ledger team to take further responsibility for accounts input and preparation processes, and ensure career development in a supportive manner * Manage and liaise with auditors, IT review and tax computation processes from planning to filing in an efficient and effective manner * Collaborate with other finance managers to support overall department goals and objectives * Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions * Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department Accounting Controls * Ensure accounting, associated IT systems and internal control environment are in compliance with Corporate policy as well as SOX requirements and US GAAP. * Responsible for review of journal entries * Review reconciliations of all significant account balances including bank accounts and fixed assets, debtors and creditors, and report significant exceptions to management * Guides other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy, applying observations and recommendations to operational issues Tax * Understand key concepts of tax returns (i.e. corporate income tax, withholding tax and indirect taxes) in foreign jurisdictions where the company has legal presence * Provide tax team with accurate information for the purpose of tax compliance in local and foreign jurisdictions Projects * Manage and implement the Company’s initiatives and projects from finance and accounting perspective. This includes providing requirements, designing and performing UAT, designing new workflow, monitoring post-go-live processes, and troubleshooting * Identify and drive process and technology improvement opportunities What you’ll Need to Succeed: * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. * 6+ years of accounting experience, with strong knowledge of full-set accounting and financial reporting. * Practical knowledge of internal controls and compliance and familiarity with international accounting standards. * Experience working with ERP systems and contributing to system, process improvement, or cross-functional projects. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to improve processes and adapt in a fast-paced environment. * Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills. * Excellent command of written and spoken English. It’s good if you have. * Experience with Oracle ERP * Familiarity with US GAAP and practical experience with SOX * Professional accounting qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, CA, CMA, or equivalent. The Opportunity: As an Indirect Tax Manager, you will have the unique opportunity to work in Bangkok for Agoda Services Co. Ltd. You will be part of a broader tax advisory team that is rapidly growing in light of the changing tax landscape for digital services. While being part of the broader Tax and Finance team (more than 300 professionals) you will also work closely with the Product, Commercial and Legal teams. The aim of this position is to manage global tax advisory matters related to VAT, sales tax, GST and other indirect taxes for Agoda, including the compliance with tax regulations across the globe, with special focus on relationship and transactions with Strategic Partners in a fast‑evolving business environment. You will have end-to-end responsibility for your own projects from scoping the challenge (incl. budgeting) to the overall solution (execution and implementation), including stakeholder management and relationships with our tax advisors. While this role remains very hands-on, you will also be expected to contribute to the long-term vision of the tax team and to share your tax technical expertise with the broader team to support their growth. This role involves interaction with our Senior Leadership Team, US parent company, sister brands, international offices, business managers, functional teams, IT and other finance and legal colleagues. Due to rapid growth of the organization, the tasks and duties of this role may evolve over time. You are expected to proactively identify new areas where tax support is needed, take initiative in shaping solutions, and take on additional challenges and responsibilities as they arise. You will operate in a highly dynamic, project‑driven environment where business models, products and partnerships evolve rapidly, requiring strong initiative, proactive problem‑solving and being comfortable with ambiguity. What You’ll Do: Key Roles and Responsibilities * Assessment of indirect tax position and interpretation of our business models * Analyze indirect tax implications and define requirements for existing and new programs/products and partnerships proactively identify risks and opportunities, make relevant key decisions and drive the practical implementation of these requirements in internal systems * Research and keep abreast of global indirect tax developments, evaluate and decide on necessary business and process changes, develop and execute plans accordingly to ensure compliance with new tax rules and regulations * Work on contracts and evaluate/work on them from an Indirect Tax Advisory perspective. * Manage and oversee indirect tax projects and develop strategic and operational implementation work plans to ensure new service or country launches are tax compliant and timely. * Manage, influence, and challenge cross-functional stakeholders (Commercial, Product, Legal, Finance, IT, etc.) to ensure tax compliant and scalable solutions, assertively representing tax requirements while balancing business objectives. * Solid understanding of how indirect taxes affect in-house financial applications and systems, * Oversee and support team members working on reconciliation of revenue, purchase, output VAT/GST and input VAT/GST with financials * Coordinate with external advisors on various indirect tax issues, e.g. obtain tax advice as necessary and support team members with accurate and timely indirect tax reporting and tax payments. Responsible for indirect tax awareness and appreciation within the Agoda group. * Contribute to the long-term vision of the tax team Required Qualifications: * Bachelors or Master’s degree in Tax Economics/Law, Accounting, Finance or any business/similar related field. Graduate degree in taxation is an additional asset * Minimum 8 years of indirect tax experience in a Big 4 / Top law firm / major in-house experience is a plus * Solid technical knowledge of indirect taxes (VAT/GST) in a global environment is a must.
