As a Senior Security Engineer focused on Datadog’s Cloud SIEM product, you will help shape the future of security operations by transforming real-world security expertise into scalable detection, investigation, and response capabilities. You will develop high-impact threat detection content, improve AI-assisted security workflows, and help defenders identify and respond to threats across cloud-native and enterprise environments. Working closely with Product, Engineering, and Security Research teams, you will influence the evolution of Datadog Security products while advancing detection coverage across emerging technologies and attack surfaces. What You'll Do: * Research attacker techniques, defensive strategies, and emerging threats, translating findings into scalable security capabilities that protect customers at cloud scale. * Design and improve AI-powered investigation, threat hunting, and response workflows that support Datadog’s agentic SOC capabilities. * Own the lifecycle of threat detections and automated security workflows, from research and design through deployment, measurement, and continuous improvement. * Develop high-fidelity detection content across cloud platforms, SaaS applications, identity systems, endpoints, networks, and other modern attack surfaces. * Partner with Product, Engineering, Security Research, and customers to influence roadmap decisions and improve security outcomes across the platform. * Mentor security engineers and drive improvements through automation, tooling, rapid prototyping, and data-driven optimization. Who You Are: * Experienced in detection engineering, incident response, threat hunting, security operations, or related defensive security disciplines. * Knowledgeable in securing and operating public cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, along with cloud-native technologies including Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform. * Skilled in modern detection engineering practices, including detection-as-code methodologies and large-scale security telemetry analysis. * Proficient in Python, Go, or similar programming languages used to automate workflows, analyze security data, and build security tooling. * Comfortable driving initiatives through ambiguity while collaborating effectively across engineering, product, and research organizations. * Passionate about applying AI and automation to improve how defenders investigate, detect, and respond to threats. The team is responsible for the MongoDB Database Server (Community and Enterprise editions). The MongoDB Product Security organization works with software engineers to design, implement, and operate systems in a manner that protects customer data. It is a multidisciplinary team that covers product, software, cloud, infrastructure, and operational security concerns. The team does the following: * Build a developer driven security program where there is tight integration with engineering artifacts, process, and tooling. * Use software architecture and coding patterns to reduce the impact of security issues. * Be security subject matter experts for our tech stack and products.  We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Dublin for our hybrid working model. RESPONSIBILITIES * You will take ownership, define strategy, and drive improvement for parts of our program such as fuzzing, threat modeling, secrets management, or container security * Advocate for and lead complex security projects from inception through completion * Drive architecture, patterns, and processes across Server Engineering that make security the easiest path * Partner closely with engineering teams to design and implement security controls across our software and systems * Research and POC new attacks against our systems. Role overview The Associate Systems Administrator is an entry-level position within the IT Systems team based in our Dublin office. This role serves as a critical bridge between our IT Service Desk and Global Systems functions, primarily focusing on supporting our EU and UK-based employees. You will work closely with the IT Service Desk team to resolve technical escalations while aligning with US-based systems engineers to maintain global applications, security policies, patching standards, and network infrastructure across our European locations. On Call work may be required with this roll as needed by the business. In addition to the responsibilities above, this role also requires regular physical activity, including moving around the office to assist with IT or AV event related tasks, lifting and carrying equipment (upwards of 50lbs), moving tables and chairs, and plugging in devices under desks and other confined spaces. The Associate Systems Administrator must be able to perform these duties safely and efficiently as part of their responsibilities. What you'll do System Administration & Support * Perform daily monitoring, management, and troubleshooting for core corporate enterprise software platforms. * Assist with the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of identity platforms and collaboration tools. * Follow established change management procedures for system updates and modifications. * Maintain accurate system documentation, including runbooks and knowledge base articles for the Service Desk.
