CHAOS is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer with expertise in digital circuit design and signal integrity analysis to lead
the design and integration of high-reliability digital electronics for aerospace and military applications. This role spans the
full product lifecycle, from requirements definition and architecture trades through schematic design, layout guidance, analysis,
board bring-up, verification, production support, and field testing of mission-critical systems.
The ideal candidate is a digital circuit designer with strong hands-on board design experience, practical signal integrity and
power integrity judgment, and the ability to coordinate complex technical tasks across FPGA, software, RF, power, mechanical,

Role Overview: CHAOS is seeking a Staff RF Engineer with deep expertise in RF circuit design to lead the design, analysis, integration, and verification of high-reliability RF and microwave electronics for aerospace and defense applications. This role works as part of a cross-functional, agile development team and spans the full product lifecycle, from early architecture and component trade studies through detailed design, testing, production support, and post-production sustainment of mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate is an experienced RF circuit designer with strong hands-on experience across RF boards, MMIC-based designs, packaging constraints, and test environments, and can provide sound technical judgment when balancing performance, risk, manufacturability, and schedule. This is a full-time, on-site position in Hawthorne, CA. WHAT YOU WILL DO (JOB RESPONSIBILITIES) The Senior Embedded Software Engineer on the Flight Software team is responsible for determining how our spacecraft behaves and operates in orbit and building reliable software to ensure it happens. The team is responsible for all phases of development, starting from requirements capture through test, and flight operational support. * Develop reliable firmware to control how the spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule operate through the entire mission. * Own all aspects of software development, from design, testing, and integration. * Scope projects including requirements capture and initial design trades given open-ended problems. * Write quality structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux based software for embedded processors in C++. * Build highly reliable and available software systems. * Ensure system quality and performance through software test, verification, and validation (V&V) techniques.
