Our focus is always on high quality, professionalism and clear, measurable results. We are now seeking an Electrical Engineer, cable routing designer for one of our clients. About the assignment: The consultant will be responsible for the design, development, and release of cable harness routing solutions within vehicle development projects. The role includes ensuring that routing designs fulfill electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and service requirements while maintaining high quality throughout the product development process. Responsibilities: • Design and develop cable harness routing in CAD according to Scania design standards and technical requirements. • Create and maintain 3D routing models and associated design documentation. • Optimize harness routing with respect to packaging, robustness, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost. • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including electrical architects, component owners, manufacturing engineering, purchasing, and suppliers. • Participate in design reviews and contribute with technical solutions during concept and detailed design phases. • Perform tolerance analyses and evaluate installation feasibility. • Support prototype builds, verification activities, and issue resolution during development and industrialization. • Manage engineering changes and ensure accurate product documentation. • Contribute to continuous improvements of design methods, standards, and best practices. Education (Must Have/Nice To Have): • Must have: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience. Experience, Must Have: • Experience in cable harness routing or mechanical installation design. • Experience working with 3D CAD systems (preferably CATIA V5 or CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE). • Experience working in cross-functional product development teams. • Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA). Experience, Nice To Have: • Experience from commercial vehicles or automotive industry. • Experience with electrical distribution systems and cable harness architecture. • Knowledge of PLM systems (ENOVIA or similar). • Experience working with prototype builds and production support. • Familiarity with Scania product development processes. The Opportunity The High-Power Laboratory is accredited according to ISO/IEC 17025 as an independent testing station and is a member of SATS Certification and STL (Short-circuit Testing Liaison) and we are one of the few unique High-Power Laboratories in the world. The Laboratory is a large test facility for high voltage products with a variety of non-routine electrical and mechanical test procedures. Its main purpose is to perform high quality testing, both in the development of new products, and in certification of the products for the global market. The clients to the Lab come from both Hitachi global organization and external Hitachi companies. Being a part of the Maintenance Team at the High-Power Laboratory is an important and interesting challenge and a key role to keep the Laboratory operation at the forefront. The team, that consists of approx. 5 persons, handles the maintenance support of the full Laboratory plant. The maintenance was insourced 1 Jan 2025 and is currently in a development stage with new system etc. Responsibilities also in new projects and installations, as well as decommissioning of old equipment. The Laboratory have a large electrical installation, rotating machines, pressurized gas facilities and other various systems in the approximately 15.000 m2 large area. How you´ll make an impact Drive a planned maintenance within the Laboratory, serving our labs and clients in the best way possible. Understand and support the need from the Laboratory units, then drive the actions that need to be taken. Work with and develop our maintenance process. Support projects and the testing Labs with resources. Contribute to strategic planning and the overall development of the Laboratory. Your background Technical competence with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent acquired competence. Fluent Swedish language is a priority; good English is needed. Other languages are positive. Electrical competence is very appreciated, electrical installation competence would be very meritorious. Experience of successfully driving team culture and implementing continuous improvement initiatives, preferably within an advanced workshop/production unit. Familiarity with production engineering, R&D, and or, Design is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills, being flexible, but not lose focus. Good communication, presentation, and influencing skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders. Position Description The Electrical Engineer I will work on the design, development, and maintenance of the electrical distribution and substation systems of our contracts and clients systems with varying levels of independence based on their level and experience. Key Responsibilities * Possess and maintain working knowledge of principles, practices, procedures, and standards related to utility power distribution systems. * Assist in designing sub-transmission systems, substations, switching stations, and commercial/industrial power distribution systems. * Develop concept design alternatives, engineering calculations, analysis, and engineering estimates for small-scale system improvement projects for substations and distribution systems. * Create, update, and maintain GIS database for large-scale electrical distribution systems. * Perform site surveys for new utility service requests, develop concept design alternatives and present the alternatives to CLP management and the customer. * Assist lead engineers with major capital upgrade projects. Responsibilities to include site visits, engineering calculations, drawings, drafting, filed inspections, technical reports, etc. * Keep up to date with utility industry standards and codes. Enforce and maintain all applicable standards and codes for our O&M, replacement/renewable and new installations. * Analyze electrical fault events, power quality issues, system loading scenarios and assist CLP crew to implement corrective actions. * Gain and maintain intermediate knowledge of power system protection and relaying schemes for electrical distribution systems. * Create power system model for large-scale power systems in ETAP (or similar software) and perform various power system analysis/studies. * Develop bills of material and technical specifications for various electrical projects. * Schedule and attend field walk-downs with customers, subcontractors, and construction personnel to understand and determine project requirements. * Perform field take-offs/evaluations for estimate preparation. * Compare various project documents for accuracy and consistency. * Participate in estimate review process with internal and external stakeholders. * Assist construction personnel throughout the project life cycle in tracking and understanding the basis of cost estimate. * Assist in the preparation and submission of change orders. * Follow up at the end of a project to close any loops in the estimating process. **Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
