BESCHREIBUNG We are Edenspiekermann - an independent design consultancy with 40+ years of experience helping world-leading organizations invent, build, and evolve their products. Our Product Strategy practice works directly with product teams at the intersection of market insight, design excellence, and AI-driven development. We are looking for a Design Strategy Director to lead this practice and grow it. DEINE AUFGABEN * You lead client engagements end-to-end - from product market fit workshops to product org design - acting as a trusted sparring partner for CPOs, Heads of Product, and VP-level stakeholders * You help clients invent and sharpen their product direction: translating user research, market signals, and business goals into actionable product strategy and roadmaps * You guide product innovation engagements, including AI-driven product development and agentic workflow integration - with real proof points, not just buzzwords * You know how product teams tick, what slows them down, and how to unlock them - whether that means restructuring team setups, clarifying decision rights, or redesigning their ways of working * You bring a strong design eye and advocate for design culture within client organizations, helping them build the conditions for great products to flourish * You act as the primary contact and project owner for your clients, driving trust, clarity, and strategic confidence * You coach and inspire more junior colleagues, helping them grow into strategic contributors * You help shape Edenspiekermann’s product strategy offering, contributing to how we pitch, deliver, and talk about this work and develop our methods further DEIN PROFIL * You have a minimum of 8 years of experience in product strategy, product design, or digital consulting - with at least 3 years in an agency or consultancy context * You have a strong track record working with product teams in complex organizations, ideally in enterprise or regulated industries * You are deeply fluent in product thinking: product-market fit, iteration frameworks, product org design, and the full lifecycle of digital product development * You have hands-on experience with AI-driven product development and can demonstrate real proof points in agentic workflows, AI product strategy, or AI-assisted delivery * You have an eye for great design and a genuine appreciation for design culture - you don’t just think in roadmaps, you care about what gets shipped. They spend far too much of their day on administrative busywork instead of the high‑impact analysis they were hired to do: juggling dozens of research and diligence calls, wrestling with messy transcripts, hunting down the right quotes, tracking entities across projects, and manually plugging insights into decks—all under brutal deadlines. Junior cuts through that friction by automating call ingestion, transcript cleanup, quote extraction, and insight structuring so they can focus on deep problem‑solving, deal sourcing, and crafting the recommendations that move the needle. 💡 THE ROLE As our fifth Product Designer, you'll have the unique opportunity to: * Ship quickly & work alongside our team of 3 designers * Design and build new modes of working with computers * Work on groundbreaking projects involving LLMs * Collaborate closely with our external partners to fuel our growth * Contribute to product decisions, direction and prioritization 🔧 SAMPLE SET OF PROJECTS * First of a kind human-in-the-loop UI design elements to guide LLMs * AI-driven, auto-filled, hypothesis tracker for investment research * Design & build a mobile app from scratch in 3 weeks * Real-time collaboration tools for consultants and investors 🔥 ABOUT YOU We're looking for a product-minded designer who: * Has exceptional taste and design judgement * Strong product sensibilities * Is based in NYC — we have a huge bias for IRL work * Has experience leading projects end-to-end and taking ideas from conception to execution independently * Is opinionated about their work and eager to contribute to product decisions * Has strong communication skills and a desire for a client-facing role — as a small team, we expect that everyone will be working closely with our external partners * Loves collaborating with engineers—we have a lot more of them than designers * Is curious about AI tools and how they might speed up design-to-code cycles.
