We are seeking multiple Level 1 and Level 2 Data Centre Engineers to support ongoing operations at our customers data centre in
Hayes. This role is hands-on and business-critical, ensuring the smooth installation, maintenance, and decommissioning of data
centre infrastructure.
You will be responsible for providing advanced technical support, troubleshooting, break-fix and maintenance of high-performance
datacentre systems that include GPUs, networking, cooling, and storage technologies.
This role is critical to guaranteeing uptime, performance, and reliability of infrastructure and requires strong collaboration
with engineering, operations, and vendor partners in order to meet our SLAs.

Location: Hayes The Role: We are seeking a proactive Deputy Site Manager to support the successful delivery of data centre smart-hands and physical engineering engagements to an exceptionally high standard. Working alongside the Site Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating site activities, maintaining health and safety standards, managing contractors, and ensuring project milestones are achieved on time and to the highest quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious infrastructure professional looking to further develop their leadership skills within a growing and dynamic organisation. Key Responsibilities: • Support the Site Manager with the day-to-day management of site operations. • Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex incidents, infrastructure failures, and customer-impacting issues. • Collaborate with Consultancy and Project/Programme Management teams, and/or third parties, to plan, lead, and execute complex data centre installations, migrations, refreshes, and decommissioning activities. • Assist with site documentation, reporting, permits, and compliance records. • Lead and oversee advanced racking, stacking, structured cabling, patching, remediation, and infrastructure lifecycle activities. • Support Sales and Pre-Sales teams by contributing technical insights, validations, and solution designs. • Support with site surveys to assess data centre readiness, capacity, risks, and operational constraints. • Deputise for the Site Manager when required. Experience: Essential: • Advanced experience and knowledge of data centre engineering and supporting infrastructure technologies. • Ideally, at least one industry certification, such as CompTIA Server+/Network+, CCNA/P, VMware VCP, Vendor hardware certifications (Dell, Lenovo, NVIDIA, Supermicro), Microsoft fundamentals in Azure and M365, ITIL Foundation. Desirable: • Cisco CCNP or Specialist certifications. • VMware VCP-DCV. • CNet CDCTP / CDCDP or BICSI certification. • Advanced AI / HPC vendor certifications (NVIDIA, Dell, Lenovo, Supermicro). • AWS, Azure, or GCP administrator or architect certifications. This is a hands-on role working with some of the latest infrastructure technologies, including enterprise servers, networking equipment, AI/GPU systems, storage platforms, and data centre environments. Whether you're already working in a data centre environment or have gained experience through IT support, infrastructure, networking, or technical education, this role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and build a long-term career within the data centre industry. You will be responsible for supporting the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimisation of critical infrastructure while working alongside experienced engineers and customer teams. Full support and ongoing development will be provided to help you succeed in the role. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Provide smart hands support across the data centre environment, including hardware installations, cabling, equipment moves, and basic troubleshooting. * Assist with the installation, upgrade, maintenance, and decommissioning of servers, networking equipment, storage systems, and AI infrastructure. * Support hardware diagnostics and break-fix activities to ensure high levels of uptime and reliability. * Work closely with engineering, operations, project teams, and customers to deliver infrastructure projects and operational activities. * Participate in technical deployments, migrations, and maintenance activities. * Create and maintain technical documentation, asset records, and operational procedures. * Conduct site inspections and support infrastructure readiness assessments. * Follow data centre safety procedures and best practices at all times. * Participate in on-call support as required.
