Als Network Engineer ben je verantwoordelijk voor het A tot Z uitwerken van netwerk en security oplossingen bij de klant.  Je begeleidt de klant in migratietrajecten en nieuwe implementaties.   JOUW UITDAGINGEN Je komt terecht in onze afdeling project services waar je bent betrokken vanaf de eerste fase van een project. Je communiceert duidelijk met alle betrokken partijen, zoals intern als met de klant. Je draagt de verantwoordelijkheid over je project en zorgt voor een tijdige oplevering. Hiervoor zie je de nodige oplossingen voor problemen en betrek je de juiste personen in het proces. Je identificeert welke innovaties een echte meerwaarde bieden in de performantie van de IT-omgeving bij onze klanten. Je bouwt vanuit ervaring inzichten op die je vertaalt naar schaalbare concepten. Zo kan de totale meerwaarde die Cheops aan haar klanten biedt ‘upgraden’. Je bent een expert in jouw domeinen en zorgt voor bijkomende ondersteuning van collega engineers voor die domeinen waarin je eigen expertise ontbreekt. Je beheert de planning, budgetten en andere middelen voor de projecten waarop je actief bent, en waarbij je zelf een rol hebt gespeeld bij het bepalen van de scope. Je weegt de beperkingen van budget, performantie, scope en timing steeds af in overleg met project managers en/of andere stakeholders.   JOUW TALENT Je plant met oog op het minimaliseren van de impact bij klanten en anticipeert op potentiële uitdagingen vanuit meerdere oplossingsmogelijkheden. As a Network Engineer at IMC, you will be joining a dynamic team of highly motivated professionals who strive to be the best at what they do by continuously learning, innovating, and improving. This role will have a major impact on the business and you will be expected to know and understand our business in order to contribute to the organization’s core strategies by constantly looking for areas to improve and develop.  IMC’s Network Engineers are responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting all low-latency connectivity to trading venues, DC, Enterprise and Backbone networks. They work closely with our Software and Systems Engineers, other teams and external parties to provide best in class infrastructure solutions supporting our trading business. Your Core Responsibilities:  * Design, implement and support the APAC's networking infrastructure. Key areas of expertise include Networking Fundamentals, Low-latency networking, Unicast and Multicast routing, BGP, PIM SM, PTP, concepts of QoS, NAT and protocol tuning. * Monitor, guard and analyze the proper functioning of our network infrastructure. Take adaptive, retentive and corrective measures and perform structural maintenance. * Proactively improve our infrastructure by contributing scripts and code to our automation efforts (e.g. Bash, Python). * Accurately create and maintain documentation detailing the implemented networking solutions, relevant procedures, and operational guidelines. * Responsibility for our IT security related platforms. Key areas include Enterprise Firewalls, VPNs, Security policies. * Work flexible hours. We are proud of the uptime of the trading environment, so every now and then you will be working outside of regular business hours to apply critical changes. This could be from your desk, your couch at home or also inside of one of our datacenters in APAC. * Liaise with external vendors, exchanges and providers to explore new technology solutions, implement new services or troubleshoot problems. Your Skills and Experience:  * We are looking for a senior Network Engineer, who is passionate about all aspects of networking and gets a thrill out of designing, implementing and supporting high-performance networks. * You are someone with 5+ years experience who is a highly capable engineer with an appetite for accuracy, and are not afraid to go beyond the standard text-book concepts of networking. * You thrive on working with your peers and cross-functional teams and are able to motivate and encourage your colleagues around you. * Ability to clearly communicate - both verbally and written - technical concepts and challenges to both technical and non-technical stakeholders is a must. Join our forward-thinking team as a Network Engineer, where you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and supporting high-performance, low-latency network infrastructure. At IMC, the Trading Infrastructure team is responsible for the WAN, LANs, and all low-latency connectivity to trading venues. You will work closely with Systems Engineers, internal teams, and external partners to deliver best-in-class solutions that support our trading business and help evolve our infrastructure to meet the demands of a dynamic industry. Your Core Responsibilities: * Design, implement and support the networking infrastructure. Key areas include Low-latency networking, Unicast and Multicast routing, OSPF, BGP, PIM SM, as well as things like QoS, STP, NAT, protocol tuning, etc. * Monitor, guard and analyze the proper functioning of our network infrastructure. Take adaptive, retentive and corrective measures and perform structural maintenance. * Proactively improve our infrastructure by contributing scripts and code to our automation efforts (e.g. Bash, Python). * Accurately create and maintain documentation detailing the implemented network components, as well as relevant procedures and other documentation. * Responsibility for our IT security related platforms. Key areas include Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs, Security policies, etc. * Work flexible hours. We are proud of the uptime of the trading environment, so every now and then you will be working outside of regular business hours to apply critical changes. This could be from your desk, your couch at home or also inside of one of our datacenters abroad. * Liaise with external vendors, exchanges and providers to explore new technology solutions, implement new services or troubleshoot problems.
