Your role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of core IT services that underpin research technology, trading platforms, market execution, and data processing, while also ensuring a secure, consistent, and high-performing end-user experience across Windows endpoints, identity, and productivity services. This role blends server platform engineering with modern EUC engineering, with a strong focus on Active Directory, Group Policy design, endpoint automation, and operational excellence. Windows Server & Core Infrastructure Engineering * Build, manage, and deploy Windows Server environments (2022–2025). * Design, deploy, and support a globally distributed, multi-forest Active Directory environment. * Configure and manage core AD services including DNS, replication, trusts, and identity integration with Entra ID. * Manage user lifecycle processes within Active Directory, including provisioning, access controls, delegation, and role-based access models. * Automate AD user and group management tasks, onboarding/offboarding workflows, and policy validation. * Troubleshoot complex AD authentication, Kerberos, NTLM, and group membership issues impacting end users. * Support infrastructure-as-code and configuration automation initiatives using PowerShell in combination with Ansible and Terraform where applicable. * Build and manage VMware ESXi infrastructure, clustering, and virtualisation services. * Optimise and troubleshoot server backups (e.g., Veeam) to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness. * Configure and maintain monitoring and observability tooling (e.g., Splunk) for performance and security visibility. * Work with SAN/NAS storage platforms to ensure high availability and resilience. * Provide 2nd-line support and act as 3rd-line escalation for Windows Server and infrastructure-related incidents. End User Computing (EUC) & Endpoint Engineering * Engineer, build, and optimise Windows 10/11 desktop environments across physical and virtual platforms. * Support and optimise Citrix DaaS / VDI environments, including image management, GPO optimisation, and user experience tuning. * Support and optimise Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365 services to deliver secure and consistent user experiences. * Develop advanced PowerShell scripts to automate endpoint builds, software deployments, patch validation, and compliance reporting. * Provide escalation support for EUC incidents affecting business-critical users, including performance, application compatibility, device compliance, and authentication. * Identify recurring EUC issues and implement automation-based remediation strategies. * Design and manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs) for endpoint configuration, security hardening, user environment control, and compliance enforcement. * Own endpoint lifecycle processes including provisioning, configuration, patching, compliance, and decommissioning. * Configure and manage endpoint security baselines across both Intune and Group Policy (co-management or hybrid scenarios where applicable). * Build reporting and health-check scripts for endpoint compliance, patch levels, BitLocker status, and device posture. * Troubleshoot profile management, FSLogix, login performance, and policy conflicts in virtual environments. * Drive standardisation across Windows Server builds, endpoint baselines, GPO structures, and Citrix images. * Maintain technical documentation including AD design, GPO standards, endpoint baselines, and automation frameworks. * Provide cross-functional troubleshooting support across infrastructure, networking, storage, security, and cloud teams. * Stay informed about emerging Windows platform, EUC, and identity technologies to identify strategic improvement opportunities. Your present skillset (ideal candidate profile) * Extensive experience designing and supporting Windows Server and enterprise AD environments. * Strong hands-on expertise in Active Directory architecture, GPO design, DNS, replication, and identity troubleshooting. * Advanced PowerShell scripting skills for both server and EUC automation, including AD and endpoint management. * Deep understanding of Windows 10/11 enterprise builds, hardening, and lifecycle management. * Experience managing Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and hybrid identity environments. * Experience supporting and optimising Citrix DaaS / VDI environments. * Experience with VMware ESXi, clustering, and virtual infrastructure. * Experience with backup platforms such as Veeam. * Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, PKI/certificate services, and infrastructure security. * Strong troubleshooting capability across server, endpoint, identity, and virtual desktop layers. * Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaborate across global teams.
