About Low Noise Factory Low Noise Factory (LNF) designs and produces the world’s best low noise microwave amplifiers. These amplifiers are used near absolute zero –cryogenic– temperatures for space exploration, quantum computing, radio astronomy, and for various ground-breaking scientific endeavors where extreme sensitivity is paramount. Our amplifiers help receive signals from the most distant man-made object from Earth, the Voyager 1 space probe, help read quantum states in the fastest quantum computers. Low Noise Factory’s state-of-the-art amplifiers are far ahead of the competition. In our 1500 sqm facility in Gothenburg we have a state-of-the-art laboratory with electronics assembly all the way to high frequency cryogenic testing. In addition, we have access to advanced cleanrooms where we develop and produce our semiconductor circuits. LNF has 25 employees with a background from 15 different countries. Job description and responsibilities We are currently looking to expand our R&D department with a Staff Engineer. In this role you will be working closely on the different stages of our products with strong cross-department responsibilities. We are looking for individuals with a broader profile and a solid background in microwave engineering. Additional relevant skills are highly regarded assets for the position. We welcome applications from experienced professionals as well as new graduates with the relevant background. Your responsibilities will be varied and tailored to your expertise and product needs. The main activities will revolve around new product development, device characterization, and product support. You are expected to actively contribute to a wide range of aspects of our products and be a bridge between different parts of the organization and other stakeholders. A part of your time will also be dedicated to customer communication, problem identification, and product repair, providing valuable insights into field usage of our products and understanding of how to build and service them. Some of the possible tasks within this role include: Semiconductor devices Device evaluation Reliability testing Transistor modeling Product development Design of new products such as LNAs, MMICs, PCB boards, and RF modules Application engineering Measurement Verification and validation Test system improvement and customization Data extraction and analysis Requirements and qualifications M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering, microwave and wireless, nanotechnology/semiconductor processing, or a similar field. Proficient in written and spoken English. Solid knowledge of RF and microwave engineering. Broad interest in different aspects of the product lifecycle. Attentive to details, with a problem-solving and team-player attitude. Valuable additional skills Experience with RF design tools such as Microwave Office, HFSS, or others. Experience in assembly, such as soldering and bonding. Hands-on experience with RF measurement equipment, such as VNA. Experience in mechanical CAD design. Interest in end-to-end design, from simulation to productization. Experience in customer relations and communication. Experience with cryogenic equipment and/or cleanroom environments. Team & Mission The Measurement Products team helps advertisers measure the incremental impact of their Pinterest campaigns and make informed investment decisions. We own and operate core measurement products including Pinterest Conversion Lift (PCL) Studies and Brand Lift Studies. We build the platform these products run on and are evolving it into our next‑gen Measurement Hub, an extensible platform that enables faster product iteration, onboarding of new study types, and deeper integration with Pinterest’s enterprise data and experimentation systems. Our mission is to measure true incremental impact and translate it into actionable insights for advertisers and partners. Role Summary We’re seeking a Staff Engineer to lead the architecture and technical direction of the measurement platform behind how advertisers understand the impact of their investment on Pinterest. You’ll drive end‑to‑end platform evolution (pipelines, services, correctness, reliability), partner closely with Product and Data Science, and raise the bar on rigor, trust, and operational excellence in ads measurement.   WHAT YOU’LL DO:  * Own end‑to‑end architecture and delivery of features for lift measurement products, from design and implementation through rollout and ongoing reliability. * Design, build, and optimize large‑scale data pipelines that power study setup, experiment execution, and results computation. * Drive AI enablement across the team by building the supporting tooling and processes (CI checks, test strategy, templates), coaching engineers, and ensuring adoption results in sustained improvements to delivery speed and system quality. * Translate measurement methodology into production systems: partner with Data Science to operationalize study design requirements into pipelines, services, tooling, and guardrails. * Build “rigor by default” mechanisms: automated data validation, randomization/holdout integrity checks, imbalance diagnostics, and continuous verification/backtesting. * Raise the bar on data quality and trust: define SLAs, build monitoring and anomaly detection, and lead root‑cause analysis for pipeline and study issues. * Mentor and up level engineers, driving strong technical execution and cross‑functional collaboration.   WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR: * BS+ in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent practical experience. * 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on data‑intensive systems. * Strong proficiency building and operating large‑scale data pipelines (batch and/or streaming) using Java/Scala/Kotlin or Python, plus SQL. * Experience designing reliable services and APIs, with solid foundations in distributed systems, data modeling, and performance optimization. * Demonstrated ability to transform a team’s engineering workflow using AI—from pilot to broad adoption—through tooling, enablement, and change leadership, with clear metrics (cycle time, defect rate, on-call load, incident rate). * Experience in AdTech and measurement products (e.g., conversion lift, brand lift) or adjacent experimentation/analytics platforms. * Working knowledge of experimentation and causal measurement fundamentals (randomization, holdouts, confounders, significance, power). * Practical experience with backtesting, controlled rollouts, and continuous verification for correctness in measurement/analytics systems. * Demonstrated ability to lead large cross‑functional initiatives, drive alignment, and deliver measurable impact through technical leadership.   In-Office Requirement Statement: * We recognize that the ideal environment for work is situational and may differ across departments.
