Excillum designar, utvecklar och tillverkar röntgenljuskällor som bland annat används för kvalitetssäkring inom halvledar-,
elektronik- och batteritillverkning. Andra tillämpningar är för framtagande av nya läkemedel och forskning inom t.ex. biologi,
medicin och materialvetenskap. Idag finns kunderna i Europa, Asien och USA. Teamet du leder består idag av 11 seniora medarbetare
inom mekanik- och elektronikdesign samt industrialisering. Gruppens viktigaste ansvar består i hårdvarudesignen och
industrialisering av produkterna där du leder teamet och arbetet inom det området. Rollen innebär också ett tätt samarbete med
övriga ledare, beslutsfattare och team inom mjukvara, forskning, produktion och produktledning för att skapa samsyn kring
hårdvaruutvecklingen. Du rapporterar till COO och är även en del av ledningsgruppen för R&D, Supply Chain och Service. Excillum
har huvudkontor i Kista med både labb och produktion i huset vilket gör att du kommer att arbeta nära produkterna som utvecklas.

Today, our products are used by leading industrial companies, instrument manufacturers and research institutions around the world. We are now looking for a Field Service Engineer to be based in China and serve as our technical expertise presence on the ground in China and Southeast Asia. About the role As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installations, training and service of our advanced X-ray systems at customer sites across China, South Korea, Japan and Taiwan. This is a unique opportunity to be Excillum's locally based specialist in the region, playing a key part in establishing our presence on the ground. You will be part of an experienced global Service and Technical Support team, with Field Service Engineers, System Specialists and Quality & Service Support, while working hands-on in the field, building strong relationships with customers and partners who depend on our technology. This is a role for someone who genuinely thrives on the road. You will likely travel more than 150 days per year, and we are looking for a person who gets energy from exactly that, from being on-site, solving real technical challenges and representing Excillum in the world's most advanced technology environments. You will begin with a thorough onboarding and product training at our headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden, during a couple of months working side by side with our existing Field Service Engineers. Initially, you will carry out joint customer visits with experienced colleagues before taking on the regional assignment. Your responsibilities include: * Installing Excillum MetalJet and Nanotube systems at customer sites * Performing corrective and preventive maintenance in the field * Conducting technical training at customer sites and at our headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden, when requested * Handling remote support cases through e-mail, chats, and phone and documenting in our CRM system * Managing RMA, warranty cases and spare parts orders * Participating in and driving quarterly service review meetings with Asian OEM partners About you We believe you have a solid background as a Field Service Engineer within high-tech industries, with a few years of experience in a similar role. You have worked with European companies or customers and bring an understanding of how to operate across both European and Asian business cultures. You are fluent in Mandarin Chinese, which is a requirement, and Korean is considered a plus. You hold a valid residence permit for China, allowing you to live and work there on a long-term basis. You likely come from industries such as scientific instrumentation, metrology, semiconductor equipment, medical devices or industrial automation. You hold at least a BSc in engineering, physics or a related field, or have gained equivalent experience throughout your career. Who we think you are * Driven by working in the field, you get energy from travel, customer interaction and hands-on problem solving * Technically skilled with the ability to troubleshoot and perform corrective maintenance on advanced equipment * Experienced as a technical trainer, able to teach customers at varying levels of expertise * Self-driven and comfortable working autonomously far from headquarters * A strong communicator who builds trust with customers and colleagues across cultures * A strong collaborator, working closely with both customers and Excillum's head office Location and travel The position is based in China. THE ROLE ────────────────────────────── We are seeking an experienced Head of Mechanical Engineering to lead the mechanical architecture, certification strategy, and industrialisation of our wearable technology platforms. This is a senior technical leadership role responsible for defining and driving the company's mechanical engineering strategy across product development, certification, manufacturing readiness, and deployment. Working closely with the Head of R&D, Head of Hardware, and Head of Production, the successful candidate will serve as the company's technical authority for mechanical engineering, wearable systems, PPE certification, and product industrialisation — while leading and developing a growing mechanical engineering team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ────────────────────────────── • Lead the Mechanical Engineering team, providing technical direction across all mechanical development activities and defining the engineering roadmap for current and future product generations. • Own the system-level mechanical architecture for wearable platforms — covering helmets, optics integration, electronics packaging, thermal management, batteries, sensors, ergonomics, and manufacturability. • Lead PPE certification programmes (ANSI Type I, ANSI Type II, EN397) — acting as the primary engineering interface to certification bodies and testing laboratories. • Drive products from concept through prototype, certification, pilot production, and full-scale manufacture, leading DFM, DFA, DFT, and DFR activities. • Develop and manage relationships with helmet manufacturers, PPE suppliers, tooling suppliers, contract manufacturers, and specialist engineering partners. • Mentor, develop, and grow the mechanical engineering team while establishing engineering standards, design practices, and product development processes. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS ────────────────────────────── • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or a related discipline. • 10+ years of product development experience with significant experience in helmet systems, PPE, safety equipment, or other wearable products. • Demonstrated experience leading products from concept through certification and production, with direct experience of ANSI Type I, ANSI Type II, and EN397 programmes. • Expert-level CAD capability (SolidWorks or equivalent) and experience working directly with certification bodies, testing laboratories, and external manufacturing partners.
