Task Description: * Having a lead role on mechanical, structural, and dynamic components using FEM, focusing on stress, shock, and random vibration analyses. * Lead technical discussions with customers and suppliers. * Supervise off-site testing of parts and inspect delivered items. * Support on-site assembly of end products, such as spacecraft structures. * Define and design test specifications, procedures, and setups for subsystem qualification (structures, mechanisms, units, components, actuators). * Correlate FE models (e.g., fundamental frequencies, damping coefficients) with actual test results. * Assist in planning and budgeting for future programs and projects. * Design, assemble, and test mechanical ground support equipment (MGSE) for integration and test activities. * Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance within the team. Required Qualifications: * Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Space Engineering, or related disciplines. * Minimum of 10 years of experience in design and testing environments related to CAD, mechanical FEM analysis, and design. * Proven ability to lead and inspire teams and/or groups, driving projects forward. * Experience within ESA projects. * Good knowledge of the ECSS. * Expertise with NASTRAN,Altair, Hypermesh, Optistruct * Proficiency in FEM analysis, particularly in random vibration response, shock, and loads analysis. * Ability to generate, read, and understand mechanical design/analysis reports and Interface Control Documents (ICDs). * Clear and coherent reporting and presentation skills in English. * Experience in design-to-manufacture processes. * Fluent in English, both spoken and written. * Located in or willing to relocate to Stockholm, Sweden. Added Advantageous Qualifications: * Experience in writing test procedures for vibration and shock. * Experience in requirements management and verification. * Experience with CREO and/or NX (CAD) and Windchill PLM. * Experience working closely with production/MAIT. * Experience in GPS (Geometric Product Specifications) drawing production. * Knowledge of the European Cooperation for Space Standardization (ECSS) and experience in the space industry. The Opportunity We are looking for a motivated and skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Local Product Support team for Live Tank Breakers. In this role, you will provide hands-on engineering expertise, contribute to product care activities, and support both internal and external stakeholders with technical solutions. You will work closely both with our teams in the factory and global product support to secure high-quality performance of our products. WHAT YOU’LL DO As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will design, simulate, prototype, and industrialize the mechanical systems that house Arago's next-generation optical AI accelerator boards. From server tray design and thermal management to custom mounts for our optical and PCB teams, you will be the hands-on builder who turns engineering requirements into physical reality, using both your CAD expertise and our in-house 3D printer and CNC machine. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE * Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. * 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, ideally in server hardware, electronics enclosures, or high-performance computing systems. * Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent. * Experience with thermal simulation tools such as COMSOL or ANSYS. * Hands-on experience with metal sheet design, fabrication processes, and mechanical assembly. * Familiarity with server hardware components like motherboards, fans, PSUs and their integration constraints. * Experience working with external suppliers and design houses, including order management and supply follow-up. * Experience with in-house prototyping tools like 3D printing and CNC machining. * Familiarity with thermal management for high-power electronics. * Language: English at a proficient level. RESPONSIBILITIES * Design metal sheet parts and mechanical assemblies for server trays hosting Arago's ML accelerator boards. * Integrate off-the-shelf components such as motherboards, fans, and PSUs into custom server tray designs. * Perform thermal simulations to validate designs before prototyping. * Design mounts and casings to support the optical and PCB teams' hardware. * Prototype designs using our in-house 3D printer and CNC machine, and iterate rapidly. * Manage relationships with external suppliers and design houses, from initial brief to supply follow-up. * Collaborate closely with PCB, optical, and software teams to align mechanical specifications across domains.
