Implement advanced software modules that follow modern C++ design patterns
Develop and debug Linux device drivers
Create design documents on software architecture and algorithms
Maintain and improve the build system using Make, CMake, Python, and Docker
Peer review code for adherence to best practices, design guidelines, and coding standards
Bachelor's degree, with an emphasis on Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline
Strong C++ programming skills (experience with C++17 a plus)
Experience with scripting languages (esp. Python)
Experience and practical knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and modern software design
Knowledge of software engineering best practices, including build environments and automated testing
English language skills at a level allowing efficient communication
Experience with embedded applications development in a Linux environment for ARM target processors
Knowledge of operating system concepts, including processes, threads, mutexes, interrupt handling, and exception handling
Knowledge of digital imaging/photography and audio/video coding, video streaming
Experience with TCP/IP and network programming

Key Responsibilities: * Participate in the Specification, Design, and Planning of upcoming features * Build, maintain, test (including automated functional tests) and release our well architected services by writing correct and clean code consistently and following best practices * Apply the Enea software development process which adopt Agile methodologies along with modern CI/CD tooling, including developing and maintaining automated build, test, and deployment pipelines which use a mix of Virtualisation and Kubernetes based environments * Make use of AI/ML techniques as part of the software development process and within the product itself. * Learn about data analytics approaches as we evolve our products to provide insights into mobile internet browsing behaviours * Assist the publications department as required to document our products * Work in a multifunctional scrum team with other developers, test engineers and architects. * Contribute to and maintain automated functional test coverage, ensuring new features are validated through CI/CD pipelines Qualifications: BSc Degree (2.1 or higher) or equivalent in Computer Science or related discipline * Networking, and programming (preferably C++ or Java) * Git source control * Linux * Effective communication – both written and verbal * Strong team working and problem solving skills * Flexible ‘can do’ attitude * 4+ years industry experience in the above areas Key Skills & Competence: * Knowledge of Python, Multi-threaded programming, Linux administration and networking protocols * Knowledge of mobile internet technologies * GitLab for CI/CD * Knowledge of Agile methodologies * Cloud Technologies (e.g. Containerisation, Grafana, Victoria Metrics/Logs) * Able to accept feedback and act on it * Ability to manage time and prioritise * Experience writing or maintaining automated functional or integration tests. YOUR MISSION We are seeking a talented Senior Embedded Engineer to help design and build the backbone of next-generation systems that integrate data, sensors, and control applications into secure, high-performance software. You will contribute to technology that powers aerospace, automotive, robotics, and defence-related platforms where real-world devices meet advanced software. RESPONSIBILITIES * Create and maintain custom cross-compilation toolchains and SDKs for the team. * Create and maintain a robust, reproducible Yocto-based Linux distribution tailored for autonomous flight * Take full ownership of the lifecycle for MIPI camera and sensor drivers, ensuring total environmental awareness for our platforms. * Optimise system boot time and real-time task latency. * Implement fail-safes and watchdogs for mission-critical flight code. QUALIFICATIONS * B.Sc/M.Sc in Computer Science, Robotics, Systems Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. * Senior level development for performance-critical systems (C/C++). * Experience building custom layers, recipes, and Board Support Packages (BSPs). * Deep knowledge of kernel tuning and optimisation. * Hands-on experience with DTS/DTSI for hardware bring-up. * Writing and debugging drivers and kernel modules. * Proficiency with SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, and PCIe. * Must be eligiable for UK Security Clearance (SC) NICE TO HAVE Nice to Have * Experience with JetPack SDK, L4T, and CUDA/TensorRT. * Driver development for CSI-2 sensors and ISP tuning. * Any experience or desire to use the Rust programming language. * Experience with PX4/ArduPilot flight stacks and MAVLink. * Development of high-throughput nodes and DDS middleware tuning. * Building hardware-accelerated video pipelines for low-latency streaming. * Implementing Secure Boot and encrypted file systems.
