Retire the ERP. Light exists to replace factory-era ERPs with software that feels alive. Our Smart Financial Platform gives modern, global companies superpowers—automated accounting, real-time reporting, and financial flows that move at the speed of the business. We build with our customers, ship fast, and obsess over craft. In a short time, Light has gone from idea to the operating core for leading companies like Lovable, Legora, and Keyshot. People don’t just use Light—they enjoy it. We’re an early team defining a new software category. Think engineers who love debits and credits, designers who care about reconciliation states, and operators who treat finance as a product. If you’re excited to modernize how the world runs money—one workflow at a time—you’re in the right place. Backed by world-class investors and advised by industry titans, we’re building category-defining products with the freedom to ship ambitiously and own outcomes. Come help us make Light the global default for next-gen finance. This Solutions Engineer role * Leading technical pre-sales activities for multinational clients evaluating Light’s platform, especially firms replacing or augmenting legacy ERPs. * Running product & technical demos that showcase how Light addresses complex finance workflows, system integrations, and scale. * Deep collaboration with prospects’ technical and finance stakeholders to understand current systems, data flows, and pain points. * Designing and proposing architecture & implementation plans that map to client needs, ensuring feasibility and scalability. * Supporting RFPs and responding to technical questions, clarifying how existing or custom integrations will work. How you fit into the team Your main mission is to translate complex customer requirements into compelling technical solutions — helping both clients and Light see how the platform delivers. You will act as a bridge between sales, product, engineering, implementation and customers. You’ll need strong presentation skills, deep ERP domain knowledge, and the ability to simplify complexity. This is a highly visible, client-facing role with direct responsibility for helping close deals and ensuring technical alignment early. Your qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience. * 3+ years’ experience as a Solutions Engineer/Pre-Sales Engineer in an ERP/FMS context (vendor-side preferred). * Deep understanding of ERP implementation projects: data migrations, integrations, customisations, modules (finance, supply chain, etc.). * Excellent technical demo and presentation skills: able to clearly articulate system architecture, APIs, integration points, and trade-offs. * Strong relationship building skills: able to engage with finance leaders. * Hands-on experience with at least one major ERP system (e.g. NetSuite, Oracle, SAP) and familiarity with cloud-based systems. * Able to think strategically and practically: balancing customer requirements, technical constraints, and Light’s product roadmap. * Practical experience using AI or emerging technology tools to improve productivity, insight, or decision-making, with the ability to apply first-principles thinking to new problems. Bonus points * Experience in SaaS / FinTech industry, especially working with multi-entity financial operations or global accounting standards. * Prior experience migrating customers from legacy ERPs to newer cloud financial platforms. * Knowledge of SQL or Python. * Experience with data transformation, ETL, or data modelling. * Familiarity with API-based integrations or middleware tools. * Multi-region implementation experience (e.g. EMEA + US) or working across different regulatory / tax environments. A few tips to stand out * Share examples of complex technical pre-sales / solution engineering projects you’ve led. * Demonstrate how you think about integrations, data migrations, scalability, and managing technical risk. * Be ready to explain how you build trust with both business and technical stakeholders in prospective client organisations. * Show a good intuition for when to push for product changes vs using what’s already there. The good stuff In addition to being part of a great team and working in a really fun and innovative environment, we offer: 💸 Competitive salary + potential stock options 🏝 Generous package of paid annual leave + public holidays in your country 🥳 Regular socials and company Starsite off-sites 🚀 A huge opportunity for career growth as you will help shape a market-defining product. Final words Working at Light means you’re embarking on an exciting journey to reshape the future of multinational financial operations. Backed by world-class investors and advised by industry titans, we’re building category-defining products with the freedom to ship ambitiously and own outcomes. Come help us make Light the global default for next-gen finance. This Senior Software Engineer role We're looking for builders who can take a customer problem from idea to production, wherever in the stack it lives. At Light, AI writes code and the bottleneck has shifted from writing to thinking, so we want engineers who work end-to-end and ship things that matter. We are primarily hiring at mid-level for this role. Junior candidates who are exceptional and genuinely AI-native are welcome. Senior candidates will be considered by exception; we have strong technical leadership and the bar is high. Your qualifications: 3-7 years of experience ideally, plus... * You build things. Not prototypes, not demos. Working software in production, doing something real for real users. This is the non-negotiable. * You're genuinely AI-native. You've changed the way you work because of AI tooling, not just added it to your workflow. You have an instinct for where it helps, where it misleads, and how to use it without losing ownership of the outcome. * You've built with LLMs. You have hands-on experience building products or features on top of large language models. Agents are a bonus, but working knowledge of how LLMs behave in production is a must. * You're comfortable across the stack. You don't need to be a specialist in everything, but you can't have a lane you refuse to leave. Our stack is Kotlin and React. If you're strong in one and curious about the rest, that works. If you need someone else to handle the other side of the feature, it doesn't. * You care about the product. You think about the person on the other end. You notice when something feels clunky, even if it technically works. You have opinions about what good software feels like and you act on them. * You ship early and often. Small batches. Learn. Go again. You're not precious about your work. You'd rather put something real in front of a customer than spend another week perfecting it in isolation. Bonus points: * Experience in fintech or systems where data integrity is non-negotiable * Familiarity with accounting concepts: debits, credits, reconciliation * Background in high-growth startups where everything was still being figured out Our Tech Stack: We build on AWS, with a Kotlin backend, a React frontend, and infrastructure managed in Terraform. It's a real production system that global finance teams depend on every day. You don't need to have used every piece of it. You do need to be comfortable in this kind of environment: real scale, real customers, real stakes. The good stuff In addition to being part of a great team and working in a really fun and innovative environment, we offer: 💸 A competitive salary + potential stock options 🏝 25 days of annual leave + public holidays in the country where you are based. 🥳 Regular socials and company off-sites 🚀 A huge opportunity for career growth as you'll help shape a market-defining product. Come help us make Light the global default for next-gen finance. How you would fit into the team This role sits at the heart of Light’s onboarding and engineering team. You’ll work closely with our clients, partners, banks and fellow engineers to build the money backbone of the Smart Financial Platform. Payments are a core pillar of Light’s mission — powering everything from cross-border transactions to automated accounting — and your work will directly shape how global businesses move money through our system. You’ll set up and maintain host-to-host integrations (mainly over SFTP and SWIFT-via-SFTP), exchange SSH and PGP keys, run payment and statement tests, and keep our payment pipelines healthy. It’s not pure software engineering, but you’ll read and write code when needed, debugging payment formats, checking database records, or improving an integration. If you like combining structured ops work with technical problem-solving, this role is for you. You’ll work in the Integration Delivery team, partnering with bank tech teams, customer success, and our engineers. The Bank Connectivity Engineer role * Set up and maintain secure host-to-host bank connections (SFTP), including SSH/PGP key exchange and endpoint configuration. * Integrate and test payment systems end-to-end — from ISO 20022 file validation (PAIN and CAMT) to live penny tests with banks and customers. * Lead technical bank integrations and payment projects, covering scoping, architecture, and delivery across domestic and international payments. * Investigate and resolve payment or statement issues using observability tools, logs, and database queries. * Improve reliability and scalability by streamlining processes, automating playbooks, and building maintainable backend infrastructure. Your qualifications: * 2–3 years of experience building backend systems in payments, fintech, or financial services — ideally with H2H, SFTP, or ISO 20022 integrations. * Strong backend development skills in Kotlin, Java, Go, or Python, and solid understanding of databases (Postgres or similar). * Hands-on experience with payment file formats (PAIN and CAMT) and familiarity with SEPA, ACH, Wires, Faster Payments, CHAPS, and Bacs. * Clear communicator who can collaborate effectively with banks, customers, and teammates across time zones. * Structured, detail-oriented problem solver who takes ownership and continuously looks for process improvements. * Practical experience using AI or emerging technology tools to improve productivity, insight, or decision-making, with the ability to apply first-principles thinking to new problems. Bonus points: * Direct experience integrating with card networks, payment gateways, or banking partners. * Built or scaled payment services in a high-growth startup. * Familiarity with AWS infrastructure, Docker, or Kubernetes. Our Tech Stack: * Hosted on AWS * Postgres DB * Kotlin Monolith Tips to stand out * Show us who you are through your application and don’t limit yourself to a resume. * Share examples of payment projects or integrations you’ve built and delivered. * Bring metrics to back up your impact (e.g. transaction throughput, time-to-market). * Tell us why you want to help build Light’s payments foundation.
