The individual in this Cataloguer role will contribute to the research, cataloguing, valuation, and sale of European paintings
dating from the late 13th through the 19th centuries. As a key member of the department, the successful candidate will combine
scholarly expertise with commercial awareness, playing an important role in the identification, assessment, and presentation of
works for sale. Working closely with senior specialists, the Cataloguer will be responsible for researching and cataloguing
property to the highest scholarly standards, supporting valuations, and contributing to business development initiatives. The role
will involve direct interaction with clients, collectors, and external experts, requiring strong communication skills and the
ability to represent the department confidently and professionally. The Cataloguer will play an integral role throughout the sale
cycle, from property evaluation and catalogue production through to pre-sale client engagement and auction execution. As such, the
successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of world-class auctions while maintaining the highest standards of
connoisseurship, accuracy, and client service. This position requires a highly organized and collaborative individual who can
manage multiple priorities, exercise sound judgment, and thrive in a fast-paced and team environment. The role is based in London
and requires regular on-site presence.

THE ROLE The Researcher will be a key member of the Old Master Paintings department in London, providing critical support across valuations, business development, and cataloguing initiatives. A significant aspect of the role will involve undertaking a wide range of research projects the department and particularly for the Head of British Paintings, delivering rigorous and insightful analysis to support specialist decision-making and client-facing activities. The position will play an integral role in the department's strategic efforts and business-getting initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-calibre research upon which specialists and senior leadership will rely, often under tight deadlines. This role requires an exceptionally organized and detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and consistently deliver accurate, thorough work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The role is based in London and requires regular on-site presence. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Conduct and deliver high-quality research in support of valuations, proposals, cataloguing projects, and other departmental initiatives. * Support senior specialists in research, appraisals, and business-getting activities, with particular responsibility for aiding the Head of British Paintings. * Work with the Head of British Paintings to ensure all valuations and research projects are completed thoroughly and in a timely manner. * Prepare comprehensive research for works to review and present in weekly meetings with senior members of the department. * Update research in the various internal database, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness of records. * Maintain an organised and easily accessible research file for every project. * Identify and consolidate research data from a wide range of archival, institutional, and published sources. * Assist the cataloguing team with condition reports ahead of each sale. * Operate in full accordance with company policies, compliance requirements, and corporate governance standards. * Maintain the highest standards of professionalism at all times. Skills, Experience & Competencies * Demonstrable specialist knowledge of Old Master Paintings. * Undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification required. * Proven ability to conduct rigorous research using archives, libraries, catalogues raisonnés, databases, and other reference sources. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively. * High level of accuracy and attention to detail. * Commitment to delivering outstanding client service. * Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team. * Flexible, adaptable, and receptive to change. * Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across departments and international teams. * Additional language skills would be advantageous. Kuwait remains one of Deliveroo’s key strategic markets within the region, with significant opportunities across grocery, retail, pharmacy, and specialist categories. As we continue to scale selection and improve our customer proposition, strong catalogue management plays a critical role in driving conversion, basket size, and operational excellence. This role will be based in Kuwait and will work closely with the Commercial, Operations, and central DSC (Delivery Support Centre) teams. The Role As a Catalogue Management Specialist, you will be responsible for improving and maintaining a high-quality catalogue experience across Deliveroo Kuwait’s Grocery and Retail partners. You will focus on catalogue completeness, category structure, menu optimisation, and customer experience enhancement to ensure catalogues are accurate, standardised, and conversion-ready. You will work closely with Account Managers and DSC teams to support assortment optimisation, discoverability, and merchandising initiatives while helping establish scalable catalogue standards across the market. Scope Clarification The Catalogue Management Specialist is responsible for catalogue quality, structure, and optimisation. The following operational execution tasks are handled by the DSC team and coordinated directly by Account Managers: * Price & stock updates * Standard menu creation * Item & image uploads * Promotions & offers setup * General menu fixes The Catalogue Management Specialist may support on exceptional or complex catalogue-related cases where required. Requirements * 1–3 years of experience in catalogue management, content operations, e-commerce, grocery, retail, or related fields. * Strong proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets with the ability to manage and analyse large datasets. * Strong attention to detail with a structured and process-oriented mindset. * Understanding of catalogue structures, taxonomy, merchandising, or customer experience optimisation is highly preferred. * Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. * Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment. * Fluency in English required; Arabic is highly preferred. * Experience working with grocery, retail, or marketplace catalogues is a strong advantage.
