International Tax is a rigged system. Tax rules get ever more complicated, compliance gets more expensive, and the Big Four
controls the expertise. They charge fees that only giant companies can afford, while smaller businesses are left flying blind.
Caribou is a tax platform designed to make international tax accessible to every global business. We're fixing Transfer Pricing
first, where one million businesses are in need, but only ten thousand experts exist. R&D relief is our next product.
Our backers include Y Combinator, Accel, Lakestar and angel investors who were founders or executives of leading companies in
London and San Francisco.
Caribou is building a new R&D tax offering at the intersection of transfer pricing and innovation funding — and we're looking for
a Senior Manager to own it end-to-end.
This isn't a pure advisory role. You'll be working alongside our engineering team to productize the service: systematising claim
processes, building tooling, and turning what used to be manual consulting work into something scalable. The mix of hands-on R&D
tax advisory with product instinct is what makes this different from a standard tax consultancy position. We're looking for
someone who's been in the trenches with HMRC and/or the IRS on R&D claims, with a passion for building things that don't exist
yet.
You'll report directly to our Head of Tax, James Boreham, and have real ownership of the vertical from day one.
defending claims under enquiry.
capture that gets it right the first time.
London-based, hybrid.
OUR MISSION At Omnea, we’re reinventing how enterprise businesses operate, starting with the most painful parts: procurement – where a single purchase can drag on for months, trigger 50+ emails, and pull in Finance, Legal, Security, and IT just to get something approved. We’ve raised $75M from Khosla Ventures, Insight Partners, and Accel to change that. Our AI-native platform connects every person, step, and system so buying is fast, safe, and efficient – one place to request, automated approvals and renewals, real-time supplier risk, and complete spend visibility. The opportunity is massive. Every enterprise on the planet has this problem and nobody has solved it. We’ve 10x’d ARR to double-digit millions in 18 months and are trusted by global enterprises like Spotify, MongoDB, Monzo, and Albertsons. We’re now the 4th fastest growing startup in Europe & the Sunday Times' #1 Best Medium Sized Tech Company To Work for. Our team previously scaled Tessian (cybersecurity tech, backed by Sequoia, Balderton, Accel, acquired post-Series C), and our team includes ex-founders operators who’ve grown unicorns, shipped world-class products, and executed at the highest levels. You’ll work alongside leaders like Ben, Abs, Sabrina, and Rebe. FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THE TEAM AND LIFE AT OMNEA HERE. THE ROLE We’re seeking a specialist engineering recruiter to lead engineering hiring at Omnea - not a generalist talent lead. We want someone who has deeply immersed themselves in engineering recruitment, understands the London market inside and out, and has played a key role in scaling an engineering team from 20 to 100+ engineers. You’ll work directly with engineering leadership, enjoying full autonomy over the hiring process. You’ll own sourcing, pipeline management, the hiring process, and the candidate experience from start to finish. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role. Every hire you make will directly influence the company’s trajectory. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Lead end-to-end engineering hiring across Omnea’s 10 engineering teams * Source, engage, and recruit Senior product engineers in London’s highly competitive market * Build and maintain a warm pipeline of passive candidates—the best engineers are rarely on the market * Shape and champion the engineering EVP * Partner with engineering leadership to define and uphold a high hiring standard, even as we grow quickly * Design and refine the hiring process to reduce time-to-hire without compromising on quality * Think creatively about Omnea’s presence to candidates, including brand, content, community, and events * Own your pipeline metrics and know your numbers WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR * 3+ years in an engineering-focused agency * 2+ years in-house at a respected, fast-paced London tech startup dedicated to engineering hiring * Experience scaling an engineering team from around 20 to over 100 engineers * At least 5 years of engineering hiring experience in total * Deep knowledge of London’s competitive engineering market * Active contributions to an engineering EVP * Ability to have informed, credible conversations with Senior and Staff-level product engineers about why Omnea is worth their time LEARN MORE For a deeper look at our engineering team, culture, and interview process, visit our R&D Candidate Hub: https://omnea.notion.site/R-D-Candidate-Hub-2f688cce658780f1b942c81cd3a032d4 At Omnea, we embrace diversity. To build a product that's loved by everyone, we're best served by a team with all sorts of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't quite match the full job spec! And regardless of your race, religion, colour, gender, or anything else! If you think you could be a good fit for Omnea, please reach out. A FEW THINGS TO NOTE: * We offer competitive geo-localised benefits, and you can check out our UK Benefits Package here and our US Benefits Package here. * We work Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays in-person at our offices. At this early stage of our company life-cycle it's important to us that we get this together-time, and you can read more about why we believe this is a winning move here * We're commercial, ambitious and we don't pretend otherwise! We're actively seeking folks looking to make the most of a career-defining opportunity, with the hunger to be part of building something really impressive. You can see our values here and our Omnea Future Founder's fund here! * We sometimes use AI note-takers to help us transcribe interview notes, so we can be more present in your interview. If you'd like to opt out of us using automatic transcribers, please note this in the free text field in your application, otherwise we'll take your application as confirmation that you're happy for us to use notetakers (whether added to video calls or in the background). We are proud to be recognised for both our culture and product, and we are just getting started. Join us as we grow! CULTURE AND VALUES We are guided by our shared values. It's not about finding people who think and act in the same way. These values help to guide our work and will continue to strengthen it. Thoughtful Thoughtful at Iso is about curiosity, creativity and care. It is about good people doing good, rigorous and future-making science every single day. Brave Brave at Iso is about fearlessness, but it’s also about initiative and integrity. The scale of the challenge demands nothing less. Determined Determined at Iso is the way we pursue our goal. It’s a confidence in our hypothesis, as well as the urgency and agility needed to deliver on it. Because disease won’t wait, so neither should we. Together Together at Iso is about connection, collaboration across fields and catalytic relationships. It’s knowing that transformation is a group project, and remembering that what we’re doing will have a real impact on real people everywhere. CREATING AN EXTRAORDINARY COMPANY We believe that to be successful we need a team with a range of skills and talents. We're building an environment where collaboration is fundamental, learning is shared and every employee feels supported and able to thrive. We value unique experiences, knowledge, backgrounds, and perspectives, and harness these qualities to create extraordinary impact. We are committed to equal employment opportunities regardless of sex, race, religion or belief, ethnic or national origin, disability, age, citizenship, marital, domestic or civil partnership status, sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy or related condition (including breastfeeding) or any other basis protected by applicable law. If you have a disability or additional need that requires accommodation, please do not hesitate to let us know. HYBRID WORKING It’s hugely important for us to share knowledge and build strong relationships with each other, and we find it easier to do this if we spend time together in person. This is why we follow a hybrid model, and would require you to be able to come into the office 3 days a week (currently Tuesday, Wednesday, and one other day depending on which team you’re in). If you have additional needs that would prevent you from following this hybrid approach, we’d be happy to talk through these if you’re selected for an initial screening call.
