Lakebase enables teams to deliver applications faster with an optimized database developer experience, integration with the lakehouse, and simplified operations. It provides a managed Postgres transactional layer for application state and workloads that combine operational data, analytics, and AI. You'll join as one of the founding engineering leaders to build out both the Lakebase product and our London presence.  Key responsibilities include: * Drive continuous delivery within a team of experts in storage technology, distributed systems and Rust. * Manage the development and rollout of storage services that host millions of customer databases across dozens of regions * Partner with peer engineering teams across Databricks to co-evolve Lakebase services with our global infrastructure. * Lead operational excellence in 24/7 operation of our system The impact you will have: * Hire great engineers to build an outstanding team. * Support engineers in their career development by providing clear feedback and develop engineering leaders. * Ensure high technical standards by instituting processes (architecture reviews, testing) and culture (engineering excellence). * Work with engineering and product leadership to build a long-term roadmap. * Coordinate execution and collaborate across teams to unblock cross-cutting projects. You will own the architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development. FDEs are billable and know how to complete projects according to specification with exceptional customer empathy.   The impact you will have: * Production Solution Delivery: Lead impactful customer technical projects by delivering production-grade systems, designing and building reference architectures, custom applications and data ingestion and ML/AI model integration * Transformational Impact: Guide strategic customers as they implement transformational big data projects including end-to-end design, build and deployment of industry-leading big data and AI applications. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY We are looking for an Engineering Manager - Content API (f/m/d) to lead a high-performing, remote-first web development team based in Europe who are driving Contentful’s technical strategy for content and entity reusability.  The role will focus on enhancing the management capabilities of the platform to enable re-use of the core content entities, such as Content Types and Entries, and establishing strong governance systems to enable Enterprise organisations to manage how that content is shared and used within their ecosystem.  You’ll partner closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between technical goals and business objectives, driving scalable, high-performance solutions that power Contentful’s website and user experiences.
