As a Senior Optical Research Scientist at CoMind, you will join a highly interdisciplinary team working at the interface of
optics, engineering, neuroscience, data science, and clinical neuromonitoring.
This is a hands-on senior scientific role. You will design, run, troubleshoot, and analyse experiments using prototype and
production-ready optical systems, while also taking ownership of scientific workstreams that support the development,
verification, validation, and optimisation of CoMind’s neuromonitoring technology.
The role is ideal for an experienced experimentalist who enjoys working directly with optical systems, physiological measurements,
and tissue-mimicking phantoms, while also being comfortable making technical decisions, coordinating with cross-functional teams,
and communicating scientific findings clearly.
At CoMind, all team members work at least 4 days per week from our new Kings Cross offices, plus a flexible work-from-home day.

In joining us, you will be helping to create cutting-edge technologies that will improve how we diagnose and treat brain disorders, ultimately improving and saving the lives of patients across the world. THE ROLE: The Data Science team at CoMind develops the algorithms and machine learning systems that transform raw optical interference signals from CoMind One into continuous, clinically meaningful measurements of cerebral blood flow, intracranial pressure, and autoregulation. Working at the frontier of photonics, physiology, and applied ML, the team's work directly determines what CoMind One can measure, how accurately, and under what clinical conditions. As Principal Data Scientist, you will be the technical authority for CoMind's data science function, setting methodological direction for signal extraction and ML modelling, personally driving the most complex and highest-impact problems, and providing expert guidance across the team. This is a senior individual contributor role: you will not manage people directly, but your technical leadership will shape how the entire team approaches its most challenging problems. You will work closely with R&D, Clinical, and Software Engineering. At CoMind, all team members work at least 4 days per week from our new Kings Cross offices, plus a flexible work-from-home day. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Own the technical direction for signal processing and ML model development on CoMind One, defining approaches, architectures, and evaluation frameworks that set the standard for the team * Lead the development and validation of the most complex data science components, from novel algorithm design through to evidence generation for regulatory submissions * Act as the primary technical reviewer and expert resource across the data science team, setting the bar for methodological rigour, reproducibility, and scientific integrity * Drive the design and execution of data collection and labelling strategies with Clinical teams, including ground truth definition, dataset governance, and performance benchmarking * Contribute to CoMind's IP and publication strategy, authoring and reviewing technical papers, patent applications, and regulatory documents * Represent the data science function in cross-functional technical forums, architecture reviews, and external scientific and clinical engagements * Identify and introduce new methods, tools, and approaches that advance CoMind's signal extraction and ML capabilities * AI is fundamental to our culture. POSITION OVERVIEW: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Game Economist to join our team in London. Reporting directly to the Director of Economy and working closely alongside another Lead Economist, you will operate as a centralized expert resource across three different studios. Unlike traditional game economy roles focused on a single title, you will lead economic strategy and systems design on a project basis, supporting various games across our extended portfolio. While this is a high-level Individual Contributor role with no direct reports, your leadership impact will be massive. You will analyze each game, identify key opportunities and challenges, and build sustainable solutions while elevating our internal economy practices. You will establish best practices, develop robust frameworks, and mentor embedded game teams so they can eventually own and manage their economies independently. WHAT YOU'LL DO: You aren't just working on one game; you are a key economic architect across three studios. WHAT THE JOB INVOLVES * Design, train and evaluate models — from gradient boosting to CNNs, U-Nets and vision transformers — for commodity and plantation mapping, land-cover classification, change and disturbance detection, and biomass / canopy-height estimation. * Build embedding-driven workflows on top of EO foundation models — few-shot classifiers, similarity search and downstream regressors. * Design validation strategies that benchmark outputs against plot inventories and third-party reference data, quantify uncertainty and surface failure modes — producing QA artefacts (maps, plots, model cards, error analyses) that internal teams and clients can defend. * Partner with Engineering to take models into scalable, reproducible inference pipelines across millions of plots. * Contribute to a strong research culture across Science, AI and Engineering — reviewed code, shared tooling and active engagement with EO/ML literature. WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE Within 30 days you'll understand where one of our solution domains touches the ground — its data, models and the customers who rely on it. By 60 days you'll be building: an iteration of an existing model or a new MVP. By 90 days it's released, or signed off and on its way — already sharpening the intelligence organisations use to protect forests and de-risk supply chains. By six months you own a domain such as biomass, forest degradation or commodity mapping and are its point of call. Within a year you'll have shipped a next-generation solution, such as reforestation (ARR) monitoring, that moves the needle on climate-positive outcomes.
