Role Overview The Testing Manager will be responsible for leading all electrical testing, energisation, and system validation activities across a large-scale data centre project. The successful candidate will manage a team of Testing Supervisors and Test Engineers while working closely with the Commissioning Manager, Authorised Persons (APs), contractors, vendors, and client representatives to ensure testing activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with project requirements. This is a highly visible, client-facing leadership role requiring strong technical expertise, planning capability, and stakeholder management skills. Reports To:                  Project Manager Direct Reports:           Testing Supervisors, Test Engineers Key Responsibilities Testing & Energisation Management Lead all electrical dead testing, live testing, and energisation activities. Coordinate testing activities in conjunction with the Authorised Person (AP) team. Manage testing schedules, resource plans, and execution strategies. Ensure all testing activities are completed safely and in accordance with approved procedures. Support system energisation, integrated testing, and project handover activities. Team Leadership Manage and mentor Testing Supervisors and Test Engineers. Allocate resources effectively to meet project milestones. Drive a culture of safety, quality, and technical excellence. Conduct regular progress reviews and performance discussions. Technical Oversight Review and approve testing procedures, method statements, test packs, and commissioning documentation. Verify testing results and ensure defects are identified, tracked, and resolved. Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements. Support troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues during testing and energisation. Stakeholder Management Act as the primary point of contact for testing activities with clients and project stakeholders. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, commissioning teams, and project management personnel. Attend project meetings and provide regular progress updates. Maintain strong working relationships with client representatives and delivery teams. Health, Safety & Quality Promote and enforce all site health, safety, and environmental requirements. Ensure compliance with electrical safety rules and safe systems of work. Participate in risk assessments and permit-to-work processes where required. Drive quality assurance and ensure all testing records are accurately maintained. Essential Requirements Proven experience managing electrical testing activities on large-scale data centre, mission-critical, power generation, or industrial projects. Strong knowledge of MV and LV electrical distribution systems. Experience with UPS systems, generators, switchgear, transformers, and critical infrastructure. Demonstrable experience managing energisation programmes and electrical testing teams. Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills. Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational abilities. Recognised Electrical Testing qualification. Right to work within the European Union. Qualifications & Experience Previous hyperscale data centre experience. IPAF HV/LV Authorised Pers City & Guilds 2391, 2394/2395, or Electrical Testing Verification of Electrical Installations (Ireland) essential. HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline is desirable. Knowledge of commissioning and integrated systems testing processes. Experience working within fast-paced, live project environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES: * This position is responsible for the commissioning and de-commissioning of a range of LV Electrical Systems, including but not limited to those listed below: * LV Distribution Panels (Continuous & Emergency Power)  * Distribution Panels (General Services)  * LCP / MCC Panels  * Transformers  * UPS Systems  * VSDs / VFDs & Associated Motors, Pumps, Fans  * Heat Trace Systems  * Process Tool Energisations & De-Energisations * Work as an Electrical Commissioning Technician as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team supporting Electrical commissioning and de-commissioning activities. * Document, execute, and close out Electrical LSRs (Live Service Requests) and DSLs (De-Installs). * Prepare Electrical power‑up documentation in line with the tool installation process. * Demonstrate ownership and initiative in a high‑paced, schedule‑driven environment. * Deliver assigned tasks in line with project milestones and safety requirements. * Carry out all duties in a manner that poses no risk to personnel safety or facility operations. * Commission & De-Commission Electrical Systems in accordance with project specifications and site procedures. * Perform pre-flight commissioning & de-commissioning site field walks and document any issues found / generate punch lists for resolution, prior to handover. * Work with Operations and Engineering teams to develop testing protocols and system start‑up procedures. * Safely troubleshoot and resolve Electrical issues in a live manufacturing environment. * Generate and execute commissioning documentation including OATs and FATs (Operational and Functional Acceptance Tests). * Work to tight timelines while maintaining strict safety and quality standards. * Ensure documentation complies with client quality and commissioning requirements. * Generate, execute, and maintain commissioning documentation in a controlled and organised manner. * Record test results and system performance data. * Support the closure of identified field issues and verify that all corrective actions have been effectively implemented. * Interact and respond to Project and Commissioning Leads direction. * Attend daily meetings and provide accurate status updates on assigned systems and activities. * Co-ordinate with commissioning, operations, engineering, and safety teams to support system readiness. * Execute all works in strict accordance with site safety protocols, procedures, permits, and approved documentation. * The role involves the commissioning and de-commissioning of multiple Electrical Systems, executed with unwavering adherence to COHE (Control of Hazardous Energy) procedures to ensure the highest standards of safety and operational control. * Maintain exceptional attention to detail & safety standards, particularly when working on live Electrical Systems Identify, report, and mitigate any risks associated with Electrical commissioning and de-commissioning activities * Communicate clearly and professionally with peers, supervisors, and client stakeholders.  SKILLS REQUIRED: * Strong working knowledge of LV Electrical Systems, including operation, design, and testing practices. * Proven experience in the start‑up and commissioning of Electrical equipment and systems. * Proficient in incorporating LOTO (Lock Out/Tag Out) and COHE procedures in operational environments to ensure equipment isolation, hazard control, and personnel safety. * Knowledge of VSD & VFD drives is considered an advantage. * Demonstrated understanding of MCCB types and their performance characteristics is considered a notable advantage. * High attention to detail, particularly regarding safety‑critical systems. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic fast‑paced environment. * Proficient in Microsoft 365 suite applications, with the ability to produce accurate documentation and support operational tasks. * Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills. * Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.    EDUCATION / LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: * Time‑served Electrical Trade qualification, or a Degree in Electrical Engineering. * A minimum of four years of applicable Electrical industry experience. * Certification in Electrical testing & verification is considered an advantage. * Proof of education, trade credentials, and any other additional certifications will be required where applicable. ABOUT THE ROLE AND TEAM Our rotation programme is a unique opportunity to be trained as an entry-level quantum engineer over one intensive year. You’ll work on real hardware challenges at a fast-paced scale-up, learning from industry leading engineers building silicon-based quantum computers. This is a hands-on role. You’ll contribute to the development of large-scale quantum systems, troubleshooting cryogenic setups, validating control hardware, characterising devices, and solving practical engineering problems for building at scale. We’re looking for recent Masters graduates in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields, or engineers from adjacent industries (e.g., semiconductors, RF/microwave, cryogenics, photonics) looking to transition into quantum. You should have demonstrated lab or hardware experience. We need to see that you’ve built, measured, or debugged physical systems, plus sufficient programming skills for instrument control and data analysis. FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE You will experience three technical domains,  such as experimental quantum hardware, quantum integration, IC validation, and intelligent automation during 4-month rotations.  For each rotation, you will be designated a Technical Supervisor. You will also have a dedicated mentor  throughout the programme. During the three rotations, you will contribute to innovative research by working on practical lab-based projects, such as: * The design, validation, and measurement of quantum devices based on SiMOS spin qubit technology. * The design and test of integrated circuits operating at deep-cryogenic temperatures (4 Kelvin and below). * The characterisation of superconducting support electronics. * The experimental test and development of software for efficient data acquisition and analysis, including software that interfaces with test hardware. The programme also entails an initial crash-course in applied quantum mechanics, quantum dots, CMOS fabrication, and state-of-the-art challenges via lectures, tutorials, and practicals.
