ABOUT THE ROLE As a Drone System Validation Technician and Pilot, you are the backbone of our flight operations. You ensure that our fleet of autonomous drones is airworthy, updated, and ready for deployment at a moment's notice. You will manage the validation lab and support engineers during complex field campaigns. RESPONSIBILITIES * Fleet Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on the drone fleet (soldering, mechanical assembly, part replacement). * Flight Operations: Pilot drones during test campaigns and act as the safety operator. * Logistics: Manage inventory of spare parts, batteries, and field equipment; organize transport for test campaigns. * Test Execution: Execute standard test protocols (checklists) and report results to the engineering team. * Lab Management: Keep the workshop organised, safe, and fully stocked. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS * Technical degree or relevant experience in electronics, mechanics, or RC modeling. * Excellent manual dexterity: Soldering, wiring, and mechanical assembly. * Organised and safety-conscious. * Drone Piloting: Experience piloting multi-rotor or fixed-wing UAVs (certification is a massive plus). * Strong interest for DIY * A2 English level * Willingness to travel for field testing. About the Role As a System Engineer, you will own the architecture, system definition and implementation of one of our robotic systems — from concept to field deployment. You will work hand-in-hand with project managers and technical leads to translate mission needs into system-level designs, coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, and ensure overall system performance, robustness, and reliability. Responsibilities * System Architecture: Transform system requirements into architectures solutions. * Technical Coordination: Lead cross-functional design across mechanical, electrical, software, GNC, and ML teams. * Trade-Off & Design Analysis: Conduct feasibility studies, trade-off analyses, and system-level simulations to guide technical choices. * Integration & Validation: Oversee system integration, prototyping, and validation, ensuring performance targets are achieved. * System Reviews: Drive design and architecture reviews, maintaining consistency between requirements, design, and testing. * Continuous Improvement: Implement processes to enhance requirements traceability, system documentation, and validation workflows. Candidate Requirements * 10+ years of experience in system engineering within robotics, aerospace, or defense sectors. * MSc in Engineering (any field); PhD is a plus. * Proven experience leading full system lifecycles (concept → prototype → validation). * Strong background in system architecture, requirements engineering, and trade-off analysis. * Broad engineering culture with understanding of mechanical, electrical, and embedded systems. * Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and managing technical interfaces. * Rigorous, structured, and mission-driven mindset with strong analytical skills. * Excellent communication and documentation abilities. * Bonus: Experience with UAS or defense systems. About the Role As an Electrical Engineer, your main role will be to design and develop electronic boards and embedded systems (SoM) for UAVs (e.g., Flight Controllers, Companion Computers, Electronic Speed Controllers). Responsibilities * High-performance embedded system design: Define the architecture and design the physical and electrical integration of complex systems based on processors, fast memory (DDR, Flash), and peripherals (e.g. embedded computers/calculators, sensors, video processing…). * Advanced schematic and routing design: Design and develop electronic schematics, and perform board placement/routing to meet design specifications, managing fast signal constraints. * Physical integration: Collaborate with the Mechanical Department to ensure the seamless physical integration of the boards into the final product. * Sensor integration: Work closely with the GNC (Guidance, Navigation, and Control) Department to ensure accurate and effective sensor integration. * Electromagnetic compatibility: Address and resolve EMC challenges while ensuring signal integrity. * Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues in electrical and electronic boards through effective troubleshooting. * Testing and Validation: Conduct testing, integration, and performance validation of electronic boards to meet operational and design requirements. Candidate Requirements * Educational Background: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. * Technical Expertise: * Demonstrated experience of 5 years minimum in complex electronic system design. * In-depth knowledge of processors, memory domains (DDR, Flash), and electronic CAD tools (e.g., Altium). * Testing Proficiency: Proficiency in using electronic test equipment. * Additional Skills: Experience with Robotics or Aerospace systems is a strong advantage. * Problem-Solving: Ability to work autonomously and solve complex technical challenges. * Communication & Influence: Excellent written and verbal communication, capable of interacting with diverse principals—from junior members to senior executives. * Commitment: 100% dedication to Harmattan AI’s mission, vision, and ambitious growth plans, ready to go the extra mile to ensure operational excellence.
