Overview The cost/inventory accountant position is responsible for all aspects of Manufacturing and Production costing analysis
and inventory for all business locations. The cost accountant is responsible for comparing standard cost to actual cost and
identifying and explaining variances by customer, part number and production jobs. The cost accountant must also work closely with
engineering and manufacturing personnel to resolve variances and adjust Bills of Materials (BOM’s).

YOUR MISSION As VP Finance (all genders) at VÆRIDION, you will build and lead the financial backbone of a capital-intensive deep-tech aerospace scale-up. You will drive financial steering, ensure strong finance hygiene, and lead financing and fundraising activities to support our transition from development to industrialization. You will work closely with the executive leadership team and act as a key strategic partner across engineering, manufacturing, and business functions. A strong focus of this role lies on structuring and executing asset financing, venture debt, development credits, and fundraising activities in a dynamic, high-growth environment. YOUR DAY-TO-DAY * Own company-wide financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes. Establish scalable financial governance, reporting standards, and KPI frameworks. * Build scalable finance processes, tools, and systems supporting the transition from startup to industrial manufacturing organization. Partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Program Management, and Business teams to support data-driven decisions. * Structure and execute asset financing solutions for equipment, tooling, and production assets. Lead structuring and negotiation of venture debt and development credit financing. Build and manage relationships with banks, debt providers, and financing partners. * Support equity fundraising processes including financial modeling, investor materials, and due diligence. Own financial data rooms, investor reporting, and financing-related analysis. * Support building and developing the finance function as the company scales. Act as sparring partner for executive leadership on financial strategy, risk, and capital allocation. YOUR PROFILE * Around 10 years of experience in Finance, Corporate Finance, Structured Finance, Investment, or similar. Experience in at least one startup, scale-up, or fast-growing dynamic environment is strongly preferred. * Proven experience in capital-intensive industries such as deep tech, aerospace, manufacturing, hardware, energy, or mobility. * Hands-on experience in at least two of the following areas: Asset financing, Venture debt, Development / innovation credits, Project financing, Equity fundraising support * Strong financial modeling and scenario planning skills. Experience negotiating financing structures and term sheets. Understanding of manufacturing cost structures and CapEx planning. * Experience with public funding landscapes in Germany or the EU is a plus. Experience in regulated or certification-driven industries is a plus. * Strong ownership mindset with ability to operate strategically and execute operationally. * Ability to work in ambiguous and fast-moving environments. * Strong stakeholder communication across technical and business teams. * Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; German or another European language is a plus. YOUR MISSION We’re looking for a Financial Controller (all genders) who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to help mature and scale our financial controlling setup. You will play a central role in the implementation of our new ERP system across all finance processes - defining standards, ensuring data quality, and driving adoption across the organization. In addition, you will continuously improve our budgeting, forecasting, and controlling processes and provide the business with clear, actionable insights. YOUR DAY-TO-DAY * Establish scalable controlling processes (templates, governance, definitions, calendar, responsibilities) suitable for a fast-growing organization. * Lead the finance workstream for ERP system implementation: process design, testing (UAT), cutover preparation, training, and post go-live stabilization. * Ensure high data quality and consistency across reporting and ERP, including alignment of chart of accounts, cost objects, and reporting dimensions. * Work hand-in-hand with accounting to ensure a reliable monthly close foundation (cut-offs, accrual logic, reconciliation drivers) so that controlling analysis is timely and trustworthy. * Support the budgeting and forecasting cycle (annual budget, rolling forecasts, scenario planning) and continuously improve planning methodology and timelines. * Build and maintain controlling dashboards, reports, and KPIs that enable fast, data-driven decisions (including cost centre and project perspectives). YOUR PROFILE * Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable field. * Several years of experience in controlling (budgeting/forecasting, variance analysis, KPI reporting), ideally in a scaling or project-driven environment. * Hands-on experience with SAP S/4 HANA, ideally including FI/CO processes; implementation or rollout experience is a strong plus. * Strong analytical skills, structured problem-solving, and a keen eye for detail. * Confidence working with Excel and ERP-based reporting, and the ability to translate complexity into clear management insights. * Strong communication skills and a collaborative, pragmatic mindset, able to work across functions and drive topics to completion. * Fluent in German (must-have); English proficiency for day-to-day collaboration is highly beneficial. ABOUT THE TEAM Your team is the Finance department and you will be working closely with many stakeholders. You will be reporting to the Team Lead Finance. YOUR MISSION Join one of Europe's fastest-growing defense startups and get a front-row seat for our financial operations. You will operate at the intersection of finance and strategy, supporting the Finance team in driving sustainable growth in a fast-moving, complex environment. We are looking for a highly adaptable individual who thrives in ambiguity and is genuinely excited by the "chaos" of setting up critical financial infrastructure from scratch. RESPONSIBILITIES * Financial Planning & Analysis: Own the budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting cycles end to end. Build and maintain financial models, and assist in the budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis cycles, helping to identify risks and opportunities * Financial Reporting: Own the monthly close in close partnership with the accounting team, and deliver accurate, decision-ready management reporting, KPI dashboards and board-level materials * Business Partnering: Act as the finance partner to department and functional leads, supporting headcount, spend and investment decisions with robust analysis * Cost, Margin & Working Capital: Develop and own cost accounting and unit economics across product lines. Monitor gross margin, inventory and working capital, and partner with operations and procurement on supplier terms, cost-control initiatives and cash efficiency * Process Setup & Operations: Help build and maintain financial processes from the ground up, including data management within financial systems * Strategic & Special Projects: Drive high-impact projects such as fundraising and investor support, scenario and contract modelling, pricing, and M&A evaluation and integration. Collaborate with regional and group Finance teams on cross-entity initiatives and help translate strategy into financial plans * Stakeholders, Vendors & Team: Manage relationships with external accountants, auditors and service providers, and coordinate audits and statutory requirements. As the function grows, help shape, mentor and raise the bar for a small finance team, leading by example with high standards and low ego.
