ABOUT THE ROLE As the Global Head of Technical Recruiting, you will play a critical role in advancing our mission by leading the growth of our Engineering, Product, and Design organizations. You will partner closely with our CTO and Co-Founder to thoughtfully build our global technical teams. You will lead a rigorous, high-performing technical recruiting organization focused on attracting talent that excels in craft and aligns with our company values. You will also collaborate with the Head of Recruiting, Head of Recruiting Operations, and our Staff team to scale our talent through rigorous, repeatable processes. You set a high bar for talent and have a strong understanding of the global technical talent market. You are “AI-first” in how you work—excited to experiment, learn quickly, and help the team adopt AI thoughtfully to improve recruiting quality, speed, and candidate experience. This role can be based in either San Francisco or New York City. We work from our offices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (our Anchor Days) because we do our best thinking and building together in person. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to work alongside the team during those days. WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE * Define and own the global technical recruiting strategy across Engineering, Product, Design, Data, and TPM — translating business priorities into a clear talent plan that scales. * Manage and develop a high-performing team of recruiters and recruiting leaders across regions, setting the bar and coaching to it consistently. * Serve as a strategic advisor to senior technical leaders — bringing market intelligence, compensation insights, and a clear point of view on talent, not just execution against a req list. * Lead the adoption of AI tools, workflows, and automation across the recruiting function — driving meaningful change in how the team sources, assesses, and closes talent. * Design and continuously improve the processes, systems, and interview infrastructure that allow us to hire with speed without sacrificing bar — including pipeline development, interviewer calibration, and offer strategy. * Establish and own the recruiting metrics that matter — quality of hire, time to fill, source mix, funnel health — and use them to drive decisions, not just report status. * Partner with Storytelling to sharpen our employer value proposition in the technical talent community and represent Notion as a destination for world-class technical talent. SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING * 7+ years of recruiting leadership experience with a deep focus on technical hiring across engineering, product, and adjacent functions. * Proven track record of building and scaling high-performing recruiting teams in fast-moving, high-growth environments. * High agency, strategic operator who can set direction and execute — equally comfortable in a leadership conversation about talent strategy and in the weeds of a hard search. * Strong analytical instincts with a track record of using data to drive decisions, not just report them — across funnel health, quality of hire, and team performance. * Trusted advisor to senior technical leaders, with the credibility and market knowledge to influence at the Staff and executive level. * Genuine AI-first orientation — fluency with modern tools and an excitement for continuous discovery as the landscape evolves, with a track record of bringing teams along on that journey. * Deep knowledge of technical compensation trends and market dynamics across global talent pools. NICE TO HAVES * Background in technical recruiting with experience closing at the executive level. * Demonstrated track record of leveraging AI to meaningfully change how recruiting operates — not just as a tool user, but as someone who has built workflows, driven adoption, and raised the bar on what the function can do. * Experience designing and executing diversity recruiting programs with measurable outcomes. * Strong network within the technical recruiting and engineering talent community. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role’s scope and complexity, and the candidate’s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below. For roles based in San Francisco or New York City, the estimated base salary range for this role is $250,000 - $300,000 per year. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence within the Talent Acquisition team to enable the timely delivery of business objectives through high quality hiring. This role will also closely partner with R&D Leadership, People Team leadership, Finance, and the rest of talent acquisition leadership in defining and developing world-class assessment, reporting, and talent engagement strategies. This role is based in our Vancouver office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. WHAT YOU’LL ACHIEVE * Build a global hiring strategy to help us scale our R&D teams. * Partner closely with executive leadership and People Team leaders to understand business priorities & objectives; help build a high-impact, max-velocity global hiring strategy that addresses key gaps between the talent in place today and the talent required to drive business success. * Help define, design, and iterate on a TA roadmap to support the recruitment of high-impact Asanas to deliver on our mission. * Leverage data to identify trends, pain points, and key drivers of TA's ability to deliver on KPIs and OKRs, scoping frameworks and solutions to unblock the team. * Set ambitious & motivating goals for your team and the company as a whole, and enable them to be successful both personally & professionally; ensure individual & team goals are connected to greater company goals. * Serve as a subject matter expert for hiring across all R&D functions while driving talent strategies that build a diverse workforce & promote a culture of inclusion. * Collaborate with the talent acquisition leadership team on global recruiting, operational effectiveness, headcount planning, team capacity planning, and recruiting resource allocation. ABOUT YOU * 10+ years of experience in a Talent Acquisition function, with 5+ years of management experience, leading Technical recruiting teams and partnering with R&D leaders. * Demonstrated passion and ability for leading, motivating, and coaching recruiting teams. * Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and a collaborative team-player mindset. * Proven track record of acting as a strong business partner to executive leaders, building deep trust and collaborative relationships with client groups to align hiring strategies with their specific goals. * A business mindset and deep understanding of how your impact in talent directly translates to the greater success of the organization. * A data-driven approach to decision-making that leads to increased operational effectiveness & efficiencies. * An ability to effectively drive change across an entire organization, and inspire a culture of shared recruiting accountability. * Demonstrates curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and leverage them to enhance productivity, collaboration, or decision-making. We believe that compensation should be reflective of the value you create relative to the market value of your role. To ensure pay is fair and not impacted by biases, we're committed to looking at market value which is why we check ourselves and conduct a yearly pay equity audit. For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $196,000 - $230,000. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified. In addition to base salary, your compensation package may include additional components such as equity, sales incentive pay (for most sales roles), and benefits.
