We’re Scan.com, the digital health scale-up making diagnostics accessible, fast, and transparent. Our technology speeds up
diagnoses for timely treatments, improving healthcare outcomes for hundreds of patients each day.
We're doing diagnostics differently, with solutions tailored to both patients and providers, all backed by our technology and
world-class customer operations team. Our B2C marketplace simplifies booking a scan, making it as straightforward for patients as
booking a hotel. Our B2B platforms provide live scheduling at the point of care and harness AI to ease workflows for physicians,
attorneys, and providers.
We're looking for a Senior Engineering Manager at an exciting time. We've successfully launched multiple platforms and products,
raised over $100M in VC funding, reached profitability, and have a growth trajectory of over 100% YoY.
We are a small, high-output team building across a complex technical surface: consumer marketplace, provider-facing scheduling
tools, interoperability infrastructure, revenue cycle tooling, and AI-augmented workflows. We don't scale headcount to scale
output. We scale leverage through AI-native development practices, tight feedback loops, and engineers who own outcomes rather
than tickets.
As Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead a cross-functional engineering team and remain a hands-on contributor. We expect
roughly 30% of your time to be spent writing code, reviewing architecture, or directly shaping technical decisions. This is not a
role for someone who wants to move fully into management. It's a role for someone who finds that combination energising.
You will report to our CTO and partner closely with Product, Operations, and Data to ship the systems that run our business. You
are expected to be genuinely AI-native: not just comfortable with AI tooling, but actively shaping how your team uses it. That
means deploying agents, building evaluation frameworks, and coaching engineers to work at a level of throughput that wasn't
possible two years ago.
As a scale-up business, you can expect your role to develop over time. Here are some of the types of things you could be getting

go-to person for sequencing within large initiatives.
You don't need to tick all the boxes to apply for this role. Whether it's your first role or your fifth, we believe everyone can
add value, learn, and grow. However, these might be some of the ways you are currently adding value:
changing priorities, and a high bar for individual output, and you have thrived in that context.

Squarespace is looking for a Backend Staff Software Engineer to lead the technical direction of our Communications Platform team. The Communications Platform is a critical engine powering customer engagement across Squarespace — providing internal teams with a scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure for delivering communications via email, push notifications and in-product messaging. The team owns multiple interconnected production platforms that collectively send over 1.75+ million notifications per day, strategic initiatives including platform modernization, In-Product Placements, and multi-channel communication capabilities. In this role, you’ll serve as the senior technical voice for the team — driving architecture, shaping roadmap execution, and elevating the engineering quality of a small but high-impact team. This is a hands-on role with real technical depth, paired with broad cross-functional influence. This is a hybrid role based in our NYC office (3 days per week), reporting to the Engineering Manager of Communications Platform. YOU’LL GET TO… * Drive the architecture, design, and implementation of the Communications Platform’s platforms — including Email Delivery, In-Product Notifications and Push Notifications. * Define and own the technical strategy for platform modernization, reliability hardening, and engineering standards across backend services. * Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentorship to a team of backend and frontend engineers, helping them grow in system design, decision-making, and ownership. * Write high-quality Java code and stay close to execution — leading design reviews, code reviews, and architectural decisions that raise the bar across the codebase. * Proactively identify and address systemic risks in performance, reliability, security, and operability before they become incidents. * Serve as a key technical partner on cross-team and company-wide architecture initiatives. * Balance short-term delivery with long-term platform health, communicating tradeoffs clearly to stakeholders and leadership. WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR * 10+ years of backend engineering experience, with significant time building and operating large-scale, customer-facing systems. * Deep expertise in Java and backend service development, including APIs, async processing, messaging systems (ex: Kafka), and data stores (ex: MongoDB, CockroachDB). * Strong experience with distributed systems in production — including reliability, scaling, failure modes, and observability. * A proven track record of technical leadership at the Staff or Senior-plus level, influencing architecture across multiple teams or services. * Experience evolving existing systems — modernizing legacy platforms, simplifying complexity, and strengthening reliability without unnecessary rewrites. * Experience operating within platform engineering contexts, where your customers are internal or external product teams and the quality of your APIs and abstractions directly shapes their velocity. * A strong understanding of multi-channel communication infrastructure (email delivery, push, in-product notifications) is a meaningful plus. * The ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical partners. * A mindset oriented toward mentorship, collaboration, and inclusive technical leadership. TECHNOLOGIES YOU'LL WORK WITH * Java, Spring, Kafka, MongoDB, CockroachDB, Kubernetes, GCP. * The team actively uses Claude Code, Cursor and GitHub Copilot to accelerate development and code review. BENEFITS & PERKS * A choice between medical plans with an option for 100% covered premiums * Fertility and adoption benefits * Access to supplemental insurance plans for additional coverage * Headspace mindfulness app subscription * Global Employee Assistance Program * Retirement benefits with employer match * Flexible paid time off * 12 weeks paid parental leave and family care leave * Pretax commuter benefit * Education reimbursement * Employee donation match to community organizations * 7 Global Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) * Dog-friendly workplace * Free lunch and snacks * Private rooftop * Hack week twice per year CASH COMPENSATION RANGE: $185,500 - $299,000 USD The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors. In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include overtime pay), Squarespace employees are eligible to be granted an option to purchase our common stock. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive structure in addition to base salary. ABOUT US Legora is redefining how legal work gets done. Not built for lawyers, built with them. We work alongside the world’s best legal teams, who expect excellence, precision, and speed, and we hold ourselves to the same bar. Our AI-native workspace lets legal professionals move faster, think more clearly, and operate with sharper precision. By analysing thousands of documents in minutes and powering end-to-end workflows, we cut through complexity, teams can focus on what matters: judgment, strategy, and outcomes. 1,000+ customers across 50+ countries trust us, including Cleary Gottlieb, Goodwin, Linklaters, White & Case, Dentons, and Barclays. We’ve scaled to $100M+ in ARR, with teams across Europe, North America and APAC, and continue to expand through acquisitions including Qura, Walter AI and Graceview. We partner with world-class performers: including Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees, Ludvig Åberg (and his caddie), and campaigns featuring Jude Law. Joining Legora means three things. * We lean in: ownership over titles, outcomes over intentions. * We fight for excellence: high standards, direct, ego-free feedback. * We grow together: as a team and with our customers. Mission before ego. Everyone contributes. No one coasts. If you’re driven by impact, pace, and raising the bar. This is the place. THE ROLE Legora's TA function is entering its next chapter. Nowhere is that more true than in New York, where the engineering org is targeting 60 hires by year end and a site that will exceed 100 engineers by the end of next year. Based in New York, you'll lead tech recruiting across Legora's US Engineering, Product, and Design (EPD) hub, managing a team of Tech Talent Partners and working closely with the engineering and product leadership building out the site. You'll report into the Director of Tech Recruiting and be accountable for the quality, pace, and consistency of EPD hiring across the market. WHAT YOU’LL DO * Lead and develop a team of Tech Talent Partners in New York, setting the standard for how Engineering, Product, and Design hiring gets done locally and building the capacity to keep pace with one of Legora's fastest-growing sites. * Own the relationship with New York EPD leadership as a genuine hiring partner, contributing to role scoping, success profiles, and hiring strategy rather than waiting to be handed a brief. * Build and maintain proactive talent pipelines for senior ICs and engineering leaders, staying ahead of demand in a market where the best candidates have no shortage of options. * Build Legora's technical brand in the New York market, running local events, engaging the engineering community, and establishing Legora as a destination for the best EPD talent in the city. * Run structured, data-informed hiring processes that maintain a consistently high bar across pace and quality, and give hiring managers a clear picture of where searches stand. * Hold the standard for candidate experience across your team, from first conversation through to offer, making sure every interaction reflects the quality of the product and the people behind it. * Partner closely with the Director of Tech Recruiting and the broader TA team on cross-market initiatives, tooling, and process consistency across all four engineering hubs. WHAT YOU BRING You've managed technical recruiting teams before at a company where the engineering bar was high and the hiring plan changed every quarter. You know what strong looks like at senior IC and engineering leader level, and you've built the kind of credibility with engineering leaders that means they come to you rather than around you. We're looking for: * Meaningful experience managing tech recruiters at a high-growth, VC-backed company. You've led a team, developed individual contributors, and been accountable for outcomes rather than just activity. * The depth to hold credible conversations with engineering and product leaders about what strong looks like at each level. You understand the difference between a good CV and a good hire in technical roles. * Experience building proactive pipelines for senior technical talent in the New York market. You know the landscape, how to source effectively, and what it takes to close candidates who have options. * Experience building employer brand presence in a local technical market, whether through events, community engagement, or broader outreach. You understand that closing great engineers starts long before a role opens. * A structured, data-driven approach to running searches. You track the right things, use pipeline data to make decisions, and keep hiring managers informed without being chased. * A hiring bar that doesn't move under pressure. When searches get hard, you change the approach, not the standard. WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU * Global collaboration: Partner with teams and clients across Europe, APAC, and North America. * Competitive package: Comprehensive salary, benefits, and tools for success. * Meaningful work: Your efforts shape how thousands of lawyers use AI daily. * In-person environment: Union Square office designed for ambitious builders and company provided lunch daily. * Benefits & Perks: We invest in our people with a comprehensive, thoughtfully designed benefits package: Medical, Dental & Vision * Multiple medical plan options through Aetna and Kaiser Permanente * HSA or Healthcare FSA (based on plan selection) * Dental plans via MetLife * Vision plans via Vision Care Family Support * Generous parental leave * Free access to Maven Clinic * Dependent Care FSA * Free One Medical membership for employees and dependents Additional Perks * Pre-tax commuter benefits * Life Insurance + STD/LTD * 401(K) with generous company match * Unlimited PTO * Robust voluntary benefits, including identity protection (via Aura), legal coverage via MetLife, pet savings programs, and more Legora is an Equal Opportunity Employer At Legora, we believe great teams are built on diversity of thought and experience. We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer and committed to creating an inclusive, high-performance culture where everyone can do their best work. We welcome people of all backgrounds and don’t discriminate based on race, color, religion, national origin, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
