Als Field Application Engineer Robotics (m/w/d) bist du dort, wo unsere Lösungen entstehen: direkt an der Anlage. Du programmierst Roboter, nimmst komplette Automatisierungslösungen beim Kunden vor Ort in Betrieb und begleitest Projekte bis zur erfolgreichen Abnahme.  DEINE AUFGABEN * Roboterprogrammierung: Du programmierst und integrierst Industrieroboter mit unserer hauseigenen Automatisierungssoftware und bindest SPS, Sensorik und Peripheriegeräte in reale Produktionsumgebungen ein. * Inbetriebnahme: Du bist regelmäßig beim Kunden im Einsatz und übernimmst Installation, Test, Fehlerbehebung sowie die Begleitung bis zur erfolgreichen Abnahme. * Fehler analysieren & lösen: Du analysierst technische Probleme direkt an der Anlage und findest pragmatische Lösungen – auch unter Zeitdruck. * FAT, SAT & Go-Live begleiten: Du übernimmst die technische Verantwortung für Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) sowie den erfolgreichen Go-Live und die Produktionsfreigabe beim Kunden. * Technischer Ansprechpartner: Du arbeitest als technischer Fachexperte eng mit internen Schnittstellen wie Engineering, Montage und Projektleitung zusammen. * Dokumentation: Du erstellst und pflegst technische Dokumentationen, um Projekte nachvollziehbar und skalierbar zu machen. * Standardisierung & Presales-Support: Du bringst dich in die Weiterentwicklung unserer Lösungen ein und unterstützt bei der technischen Bewertung neuer Projekte. BIST DU BEREIT? * Fachliche Qualifikationen * Abgeschlossene Ausbildung oder Studium im Bereich Robotik, Automatisierungstechnik, Mechatronik oder vergleichbar * Mehrjährige praktische Erfahrung in der Programmierung und Inbetriebnahme von Industrierobotern (z. B. Universal Robots, FANUC, KUKA oder Yaskawa) in einem realen Produktionsumfeld * Kenntnisse in der Hochsprachenprogrammierung (idealerweise Python) sowie im Umgang mit Linux  * Erfahrung mit industriellen Automatisierungssystemen und idealerweise SPS-Systemen (z. B. Siemens TIA Portal, Beckhoff TwinCAT oder Codesys) * Sehr gute Deutschkenntnisse (mindestens C1), da du eigenständig mit unseren Kunden kommunizierst und direkt im deutschsprachigem Produktionsumfeld arbeitest * Gute Englischkenntnisse (mindestens B1) für die Zusammenarbeit mit internationalen Kunden   * Persönliche Voraussetzungen * Reisebereitschaft von ca. 40 % pro Monat – regelmäßige Vor-Ort-Einsätze beim Kunden gehören für dich dazu und können je nach Projekt mehrere Tage oder auch mehrere Wochen am Stück dauern * Hohe Einsatzbereitschaft und Pragmatismus auch in anspruchsvollen Projektsituationen   * Von Vorteil * Erste Berührungspunkte mit Vision-Systemen oder Sensorik * Kenntnisse in Simulationstools (z. B. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: Design * Debug and resolve application-level issues, collaborating with hardware and software teams as needed. * Adapt and optimize robotic systems for specific client applications, including path planning, perception, and object manipulation. * Create and implement task-specific workflows, configurations, and behaviors for robotic systems. * Develop user-friendly interfaces and tools to simplify system operation for end-users. Optimization * Conduct on-site testing of robotic applications to validate performance and ensure reliability. * Continuously iterate on applications to meet evolving client needs and improve performance. * Provide technical support and hands-on training to clients and operators. * Collaborate closely with clients to understand their unique challenges and deliver tailored solutions. * Document application workflows and create detailed user guides. QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience * 3+ years of experience in robotics application development or integration. * Strong programming skills in Python and C++, with experience in task-level software development. * Experience working with clients to implement and refine robotic solutions. Skills * Proficiency with ROS 2 and simulation tools like Gazebo or RViz. * Hands-on experience with robotic arms, grippers, and vision systems. * Strong understanding of motion planning, perception systems, and kinematics. * Ability to troubleshoot and resolve application-level issues in both lab and field settings. OVERVIEW: We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and architecture of innovative systems and components for our AI-driven robots. In this role, you will tackle our most complex mechanical challenges, and take ownership of the product lifecycle from concept to production. You will drive cross-functional collaboration with electrical and software teams, oversee and optimize architectures for scalability, cost, and high-volume manufacturability. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: Design and Testing: * Lead the design and architectural definition of complex mechanical systems and components for AI-driven robots. * Create, review, and approve highly detailed 3D models and technical drawings for fabrication, ensuring best practices in GD&T. * Drive collaboration with engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration and resolve complex cross-disciplinary technical bottlenecks. * Define and oversee advanced mechanical simulations, reliability testing, and performance validations. * Optimize mechanical architectures for cost, efficiency, and transition to mass production (DFM/DFA). QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computational Mechanics, Engineering Science or related field. * 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, ideally in robotics or automation. * Experience in industrial design or special purpose machinery is a plus * Proficiency with CAD tools like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo or similar. * Understanding of mechanical testing and prototyping processes. * Strong knowledge of material properties, manufacturing methods, and system integration. * Proven track record of taking hardware products through the entire lifecycle, from initial concept to successful commercial production. * Willingness to travel ≈ 25% desirable Skills * Expert proficiency with CAD tools like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar, as well as PDM/PLM systems. * Deep understanding of advanced mechanical testing, rapid prototyping, and reliability engineering. * Strong, expert-level knowledge of material properties, advanced manufacturing methods, and complex system integration.
