Role Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Linux Embedded Developer to join the client’s team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing embedded Linux systems, with a strong focus on performance analysis, debugging, and system improvements. Responsibilities * Analyze and optimize system performance (CPU usage, scheduler latency, memory footprint, I/O performance) * Work with Linux Kernel internals (scheduler, memory management, IRQ/driver stack) * Perform tracing and analysis using tools such as KernelShark, trace-cmd, and ftrace * Identify performance bottlenecks and regressions * Debug embedded systems using tools like strace, dmesg, perf, and LTTng * Build and maintain Yocto-based Linux distributions * Create and optimize system images (poky, bitbake, layers) * Develop and maintain custom recipes and meta-layers * Work with the Linux networking stack (netlink, TC, eBPF) * Implement and modify XDP/eBPF programs (e.g., packet filtering, traffic analysis) Requirements * Several years of experience as a Linux Embedded Developer * Strong knowledge of Linux Kernel internals * Experience with system performance analysis and profiling * Hands-on experience with tools: perf, top/htop, vmstat/iostat, bpftrace, KernelShark * Strong experience with Yocto Project (bitbake, poky, layers, bbappend, devtool) * Solid understanding of embedded Linux systems and cross-compilation * Experience with eBPF/XDP and Linux networking stack * Strong debugging and problem-solving skills Nice to Have * Experience with real-time / low-latency system optimization * Experience with BSP development and customization What We Offer * Participation in advanced and impactful embedded projects * International working environment * Opportunity to work with modern technologies * Flexible cooperation model
ABOUT THE PROJECT Our client is a global engineering and technology partner delivering advanced product development and embedded software solutions for leading international companies across various industries. The organization specializes in digital engineering, embedded systems, and innovation-driven product development, helping clients build secure, high-quality, and future-proof solutions. We are currently looking for a Senior Linux Embedded Developer to join a team working on the development of secure embedded Linux platforms and next-generation connected devices. LOCATION 📍 Fully Remote YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES * Develop and maintain Embedded Linux systems based on Yocto. * Create, customize, and maintain Yocto meta-layers. * Implement and enhance Secure Boot mechanisms. * Modify and configure U-Boot bootloader. * Design and integrate secure software update solutions using RAUC or OSTree. * Integrate hardware components, including SoCs and secure elements. * Develop, customize, and maintain Linux device drivers. * Work with NAND flash memory technologies. * Implement cybersecurity-related features and security mechanisms. * Debug and troubleshoot embedded systems at both software and hardware levels. REQUIREMENTS MUST-HAVE SKILLS * Strong commercial experience with Embedded Linux and Yocto. * Solid understanding of Secure Boot, TrustZone, and key management mechanisms. * Hands-on experience with update frameworks such as RAUC or OSTree. * Practical experience working with NAND flash memory. * Good understanding of cybersecurity concepts, including: * Cryptographic key management * Certificates * Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) * Experience with hardware integration, including SoCs and secure elements. * Strong knowledge of U-Boot customization and configuration. * Proven experience in debugging embedded systems. * Experience developing Linux device drivers. * Experience modifying Yocto meta-layers.
