This role will play a pivotal part in crafting new products atop our platform and expanding the efficacy of the Bounce marketplace. As a Full Stack Engineer, you will take ownership of real-world customer problems, crafting intelligent and efficient solutions across both backend and frontend. You will have the opportunity to own projects in various areas, such as our consumer apps, growth engines, and partner tools. We are looking for a generalist who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys owning a feature from concept to completion, contributing across the entire technology stack. Our ultimate goal is to build a large-scale, shared technology platform that supports various products capable of rapid iteration and exploration. HOW PRODUCT GETS BUILT AT BOUNCE At Bounce, we focus on serving our customers and partners rather than solely on technological innovation. We work in fast-paced 1-week cycles. Projects are usually scoped down to fit into one or two cycles. Projects are led by individuals, but are a shared effort across the entire team. There will always be aspects of any project that will require collaboration, feedback, and guidance—we expect you to ask for help. An ideal candidate is excited by all aspects of this software-building process, not just writing code. We’re a small team that thrives off of individuals who can take features from an idea to live on production. This is not a role where issues will be assigned to you and you churn through them. WHERE YOU COME IN… * Collaborate with global teams to support new product innovations and business initiatives, continuously exploring new ventures from both an engineering and product standpoint. * Write high-quality code for our mobile and web applications. * Assume strong ownership of products and services, and continuously improve and maintain existing code and architecture. * Work in a fast-paced environment and shoulder the responsibility and commitment of the production environment. * Work with Elixir, React Native, Expo, React, NextJS, and Typescript, and introduce other technologies when beneficial. * Bring a passion for staying on top of industry trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, and participating in internal and external technology communities. YOUR PROFILE… * 4+ years of relevant experience developing and shipping code for production systems * Effectively integrates AI tools into daily operations to enhance productivity, while staying current with advancements in AI in software development practices. * Generalist that strives for velocity and loves owning a feature from start to finish by contributing across the stack. * Proficient coding skills in one or more of the following - Javascript, Typescript, Elixir, or Ruby. * Experience with frontend frameworks and technologies, including but not limited to React, React Native, Javascript, CSS, etc. * Proven experience in building maintainable and testable code bases, including API design and unit/integration testing techniques. * Commitment to creating an exceptional end-user experience, with attention to the smallest details that can elevate their interaction with our platform. * Current knowledge of relevant technologies and an ability to implement them effectively. * Understanding of CI/CD pipelines. * You're confident in leveraging AI tooling to elevate your productivity.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in our Lisbon office, requiring four days a week onsite. Software Engineering is a key role within Thought Machine. As an engineering-focused company, we take pride in our engineering excellence, adopting best practices, and utilising modern technologies. Thought Machine software engineers work across the stack to solve complex engineering problems that have not been solved before. As a result, while development at Thought Machine is fast-paced, you will be expected to develop code to the highest standards that scales, is secure, performant, and provides a great user experience. Software Engineers will take complete ownership of a requirement, converting it into an engineering design, task breakdown, and implementation. You’ll be responsible for building both backend services and frontend experiences. Our clients range from the world’s largest financial institutions to smaller regional banks. Our systems must cater to each of these use cases, so we care deeply about providing the ability to configure and customise the user experience based on the client's or end user's persona. Software engineers are expected to bridge the gap between back-end and front-end, crafting delightful experiences that delight all our clients. Duties * Design and implement end-to-end features across the stack, including web applications and backend services. * Ensure your solutions are delivered with security, performance, scale, and user experience in mind. * Write automated unit, integration, acceptance tests, etc. * Interface with other engineering teams to ensure that features are added in a structured and coherent way. * Managing and debugging your features from testing environments to production. * Translating customer requirements into a clear plan that can be delivered via tasks. * Collaborating as part of a cross-functional team of backend, front-end, and full-stack engineers. Essential * Experience with React and TypeScript. * Proficiency in writing modern web applications. * Experience with writing REST apis and services * A keen eye for detail and a passion for writing clean, readable, properly tested code. * Experience in integrating automated tests into the development lifecycle. * Interest in client-facing projects, including scoping requirements and defining deliverables. * A proactive approach to learning and development. Desirable * A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a similar technical field. * Knowledge of banking/finance. * Experience with AWS or other cloud providers. * Proficiency in Golang or Python. * An understanding of both UX and UI principles. * Experience using Figma and UI frameworks. * Visual design skills. * Familiar with databases (SQL or NoSQL). * Experience with client/server software architectures & networking, or microservice architectures. * Experience using Kubernetes. As a Senior Full Stack Data Scientist on the Growth & Demand pillar, you will own the data behind how we acquire, convert, and retain customers. You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with our Growth org — the Acquisition Pod, the Conversion Pod, and lifecycle/CRM — turning marketing spend and funnel behavior into models, experiments, and decisions that move the top line. This is a high-leverage role for someone who is equal parts scientist and builder: you'll write the attribution models that tell us which channels actually work, build the A/B testing tooling our product teams rely on, and advocate relentlessly for data-driven decisions across the growth organization. You will play a critical role in the success of Bounce! WHERE YOU COME IN… * Partner with the Growth org (Acquisition, Conversion, and lifecycle/CRM) to translate analytical insights into action * Model customer acquisition paths and build sophisticated, multi-touch attribution models to optimize marketing ROI across paid, SEO, affiliate, and influencer channels * Build and own the A/B testing tooling and the underlying experimentation data layer that product teams depend on for funnel and checkout optimization * Develop customer segmentation and personalization frameworks that power lifecycle messaging and CRM journeys * Track and forecast demand-side KPIs — CAC, LTV, conversion rate, retention — in self-serve dashboards * Build pricing intelligence algorithms that enhance profitability and explore data monetization opportunities * Help develop and maintain the analytics pipelines that feed growth reporting * Improve our Data-Focused Agentic Layer to make demand insights accessible across the company * Advocate for data and data-driven decisions across the growth organization * Be an owner, taking a personal stake in the success of the product and the team YOUR PROFILE… * Degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, economics, math or engineering, or relevant work experience * 5+ years of industry experience in Data Science or similar * Strong track record with marketing/growth analytics: attribution modelling, experimentation design (A/B testing), customer segmentation, or LTV/CAC modelling * Experience with data visualization and orchestration tools such as Amplitude, Tableau, Hex, Airflow * Comfortable around data warehousing concepts, big data technologies, and analytics platforms * Knowledge of Agentic Tooling: Claude, Jules or Codex are a must * Strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional partners * Avid learner and practical problem solver * Professional proficiency in English, written and spoken
