WHAT YOU'LL DO * Work with the SeatGeek design team and product managers to bring ideas to life to delight fans * Bring a passion for product to mentor and grow web engineers across the organization * Contribute to increasing the maturity of our front end tech strategy and stack WHAT YOU HAVE * 5+ years of professional experience in frontend software engineering, having led product initiatives end-to-end in recent years  * TypeScript/JavaScript: You have an exceptional grasp of the language. You keep up with the latest spec and look for every opportunity to use new features. You're familiar with at least one modern framework and client side rendering technique. We use TypeScript, React, and Next.js to create our user interfaces, although specific knowledge of those is not a prerequisite. * UI & Product Instincts: You have feelings about how a web page should look and feel, care about the nuances of how users will work with the product you're building, and aim to build inclusive and accessible experiences. We don't expect you to be a visual designer, but we're looking for someone who can build on the work of our experienced design team. * Architecture and Performance optimization: You are comfortable going deeper into the stack to untangle caching inefficiencies, and troubleshoot across a wide array of distributed systems that make up a dynamic web application. You know how to use monitors and testing to know if changes improved or degraded the experience. You know how to architect for performance and maintainability. * Adaptability: You have comfort working full stack in Python when needed to get things done.  You have some experience with design tools like Figma or Sketch. In this role, you’ll work closely with partners across engineering and product to design and deliver capabilities that are easy to use, dependable at scale, and flexible enough to support different team needs. Your work will help teams across SeatGeek build and ship with fewer surprises, especially during the moments when our systems matter most. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Design, build, and support shared platform systems and tooling that help teams across SeatGeek develop and run services reliably * Partner with engineering and product teams to address performance, scalability, and reliability needs as our marketplace and business grow * Contribute to system reliability, observability, security, and scalability through automation and well-considered abstractions * Participate in operating production systems, including supporting releases, taking part in an on-call rotation, and responding to incidents and support requests with guidance and collaboration from the team * Collaborate across teams and disciplines to identify friction and improve how software is built and operated at SeatGeek * Help evolve internal platforms, APIs, standards, and shared tooling to improve reliability and developer experience over time * Participate in evaluating new technologies and patterns, balancing short-term needs with long-term maintainability and operational health * Use automation and emerging tools, including AI-assisted workflows, to improve development and operational efficiency * Share context and learnings through documentation, design discussions, and collaboration across teams WHAT YOU HAVE * Experience contributing to the design, development, or operation of shared systems, platforms, or infrastructure that support other engineers or teams * Familiarity with building, running, or improving production systems, and an interest in reliability, security,  scalability, and safe ways to deploy and operate software * A thoughtful approach to writing and maintaining code, with attention to clarity, maintainability, and how others will use and operate what you build * An interest in developer experience and platform usability, including how tools, abstractions, and workflows affect team productivity and broader business goals * Comfort collaborating across teams and disciplines, communicating clearly, and turning broad needs into practical technical solutions with support from others * A commitment to learning and growth (both your own and your teammates’) through knowledge sharing, feedback, and continuous improvement OUR STACK You do not need experience with all of these, but we thought you might be curious. SeatGeek’s finance stack supports the reporting and operationalization of billions of dollars in transactions and settlements across diverse revenue streams and dozens of production systems. FinEng is the dedicated team focused on getting our arms around the finance and accounting data that SeatGeek generates across the business. This team is rethinking and rebuilding the systems that power our understanding of revenue recognition, marketplace settlements, and unit economics - all towards our mission of making SeatGeek the top destination for live event goers. As the company grows and use cases with our finance data transform, our stack needs to adjust and scale to keep pace with new agentic demands and the increasing complexity of our financial operations. You'll be hands-on building the core systems that ingest settlement and transaction data from across the business, translate it into our general ledger and billing systems, and make handling complex deal structures look easy. If you are passionate about modernizing financial infrastructure, modeling complex revenue flows, and building platforms that provide teams and agents data they can trust, this is your opportunity to transform how we think about money at SeatGeek. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Build and own core services that ingest PSP settlement and transactional data at scale, and translate it accurately into our general ledger and billing systems * Design and deliver the infrastructure that turns bespoke monetization deal terms into configuration, replacing point solutions with durable, auditable systems * Rapidly build and iterate tools to boost the quality and speed of interactions with our finance data, working AI-first by default * Partner with product engineering teams across the business to shape how transactional and settlement data gets modeled and exposed at the source - pushing for the data contracts we need instead of reverse-engineering what's convenient upstream * Communicate and collaborate with different stakeholders - Finance, Accounting, Data Scientists, Analysts, Data Platform Engineers, and Product - to institute best practices aimed at managing data quality * Maintain a high standard of accuracy, completeness, and operational excellence across the platform, in a SOX controlled environment * Create clear definitions and documentation of our data sources and systems, making ownership crystal clear WHAT YOU HAVE * 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record building and operating production backend systems * Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, and the core engineering skills to learn new tools and frameworks quickly * Experience handling and processing transactional or financial data at scale, ideally in a SOX controlled environment * Experience designing services and data models that are reliable, auditable, and built to last * Familiarity with the interface between streaming production data and a data warehouse environment * Comfort operating without a playbook - defining architecture, ways of working, and roadmap as you go * Ability to break down complex technical concepts and explain them clearly to non-technical stakeholders * Bonus: knowledge of finance and accounting principles, and experience with payments infrastructure, marketplace payout platforms, or finance systems vendors OUR STACK Experience with every technology listed isn’t expected, we’ve included them for transparency.
