ABOUT THE ROLE: As a growth-focused Fullstack Engineer on our team, you will play a central role in driving user acquisition, conversion, and retention through highly performant and visually stunning web experiences. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams—from marketing to sales to product design—to build dynamic pages, run A/B tests, and optimize conversion funnels. In this role, you’ll design and develop scalable features that enhance the user journey, integrate feedback loops, monitor key metrics, and ensure the reliability of our acquisition funnel. By staying updated on industry trends and focusing on delightful UX, you’ll continuously refine our web properties—ultimately delivering an exceptional experience from first touch through ongoing engagement. If you’re based within a pre-determined commuting distance of one of our offices (SF, NY, London, or Berlin), the role includes in-office anchor days on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. WHAT YOU WILL DO: * Lead complex frontend projects that establish Vercel as a gold standard for brand and product marketing. * Collaborate with growth and marketing teams to A/B test landing pages for lead generation across multiple channels. * Design and implement scalable applications, web services, and APIs with a focus on user experience and performance. * Contribute to our design system and uphold industry-leading UX standards (e.g., interactions, micro-animations, layout consistency). * Continuously improve engineering processes, tools, and systems to scale the codebase and team productivity. * Troubleshoot and fix bugs, delivering quick, high-quality resolutions. * Write technical documents and maintain internal tools to empower other teams. * Review and provide feedback on contributions from other engineers. * Identify bottlenecks and optimize for conversion, speed, and reliability across the funnel. * Critically think about foundational areas of the Vercel application to ensure ease of maintenance and future extensibility. ABOUT YOU: * 5+ years of professional frontend engineering experience (React, JavaScript, Tailwind CSS, or similar). * Strong proficiency in Next.js and familiarity with modern frontend frameworks. * Full stack experience (comfortable designing or consuming APIs and working with various services). * Deep understanding of SEO principles and best practices—especially around performance, accessibility, and search optimization. * Proven knowledge of A/B testing concepts and conversion rate optimization. * Stellar cross-functional communication skills—you can work effectively with marketing, design, and product to reach shared goals. * Eye for good user experiences and a knack for “getting the visuals right.” * Desire to work in a fast-paced environment, continuously grow, and master your craft. The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $196,000 - $294,000. Actual salary will be based on job-related skills, experience, and location. Compensation outside of San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package may include benefits, equity-based compensation, and eligibility for a company bonus or variable pay program depending on the role. About the position Our Creative & Growth Studio is looking for a talented and eager Web & Visual Designer to join our passionate design team. You will work alongside experienced designers, marketers, and developers to help create and improve our storefront websites. In collaboration with marketing, brand, content, and engineering teams, you will contribute to creating a best-in-class website experience for http://proton.me and http://protonvpn.com. Our goal is to delight visitors and guide them through Proton's privacy ecosystem. This is a great opportunity for a designer who is passionate about visual design, eager to learn UX best practices, and ready to apply their skills to real-world projects that impact millions of users. Note: This is not a product design role. We are looking for a designer who focus on storefronts/marketing websites. You should be comfortable presenting your work to the team. * Language: Excellent communication skills in English. * Tools: Proficiency in industry-standard design tools, such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite. * Bonus Points: Familiarity with using AI tools within your creative process is a bonus.
