Avalere’s policy practice is seeking a Principal with a primary focus on Medicare Part B, physician-administered drugs, and the 340B program. Expertise in oncology policy is a plus. This role is ideal for a policy professional who enjoys developing creative solutions to complex problems, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and values close collaboration with highly motivated and knowledgeable colleagues.
The policy practice addresses a broad range of issues, including federal and state drug pricing policy discussions; Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part B and D policy and payment; evolving benefit design and coverage in public and private payers; Medicaid; and other state health policies. The team applies deep subject-matter expertise and a strong understanding of client business challenges to assess how policy changes affect pharmaceutical manufacturers, managed care plans, providers, pharmacies, PBMs, and consumers. The practice delivers analytic support and advisory services, including legislative strategy, regulatory analysis, and quantitative modeling of proposed and enacted policies.

About The Role We are seeking a Principal to join our Evidence & Strategy practice who has successfully worked in life sciences consultancy supporting life sciences initiatives in qualitative and quantitative research, health economics & outcomes research, and evidence strategy and claims analyses using Medicare data and other data sources. The candidate should have extensive experience conducting quantitative and qualitative research using a variety of methodologies and programming skills, providing strategic and tactical HEOR/Value & Evidence advisory and/or industry services to a variety of stakeholders, leveraging subject matter expertise to generate novel solutions for our clients, generate new business, and lead projects in a leadership capacity to support evidence generation for life sciences clients. The Principal role within our practice will support client engagements that inform business and evidence strategy related to the strategic direction and execution of projects in partnership with the cross-functional teams to generate data to answer decision-makers complex questions on the value, impact and program evaluation of clients’ products and disease areas of focus. As a Principal, the expectation is to spend approximately 65% of time on project delivery and 35% of time on business development, cultivating new and follow-on work with clients and prospective clients. The ideal candidate would have deep knowledge of developing and interpreting evidence and communicating value for life sciences products. This work would be designing, measuring and evaluating interventions, initiatives and implementation from all perspectives, inclusive of utilizing programming skills in SAS, R, and other programming languages to access CMS, commercial, social determinant of health, and other claims, secondary and primary data sources. Correct and resolve operational issues in partnership with the store team, Area Loss Prevention Manager, and the LP Inventory Accuracy team. Provide direct support to assigned locations for taking of financial inventory, and RFID based cycle counts as directed. Regularly communicate with other LP team members, and support cross-communication between store team members, and other departments to identify common issues. Other duties as assigned. What You Bring: Minimum of 2 years of related experience in Loss Prevention or Asset Protection in a multi-unit capacity. Full understanding of Canadian federal, provincial and local laws and regulations regarding apprehensions, safety, and all aspects of Loss Prevention. Being provincially licensed is also the requirement for this role Demonstrated experience in Internal Investigation including use of exception reporting systems as well as managing external apprehension programs. Proven ability to interface with law enforcement and legal professionals on both criminal and civil matters. Experience with Loss Prevention technology and methods, including CCTV, covert surveillance, EAS, Access Control, and Intrusion Detection systems. Knowledge of inventory management systems and inventory accuracy principles considered an asset including familiarity with RFID technology.
