WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO THRIVE Our ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in some of these areas and curiosity to grow in others: * Significant experience leading HR compliance or employment law programs in a high-growth, global technology company or similar fast-paced environment—with a strong track record of building and leading compliance functions at scale. * Deep expertise across core HR compliance domains including employment legislation management, SOX hire-to-retire controls, mandated reporting, policy governance, work authorisation, data privacy, and wage and hour—with the ability to navigate both UK/EMEA specifics and broader global complexity. * Proven ability as a strategic operator who can define a multi-year compliance vision and gain stakeholder buy-in, while also rolling up their sleeves to build process infrastructure, drive execution, and deliver against a roadmap with urgency and rigour. * Demonstrated experience embedding AI and automation into compliance or people operations workflows—with a clear point of view on how technology can be used to scale a proactive, intelligence-driven approach to employment compliance. * Strong leadership and cross-functional influence skills, with a history of building trusted partnerships with Legal, HR, Finance, and Technology teams—and a proven ability to create clarity and alignment in complex, matrixed, multinational organisations. WHO WE ARE Melotech is revolutionizing media and entertainment. We create art through technology for humans to enjoy. In just 24 months, our work has been heard, watched and loved for over 3 billion minutes worldwide. Founded by entrepreneur and investor Soheil Mirpour, we are backed by top VCs Cherry Ventures, Speedinvest and GFC, alongside world-class angels from firms such as Spotify, Blackstone and KKR. What you will do Your role as Head of People is to build the recruiting engine that scales Melotech, personally hiring the 10 to 20 exceptional people who will shape our next chapter across product, engineering, go-to-market and creative, and then to build the people function beneath them. Working hand in hand with our founders, you own talent end to end. On a typical day, your tasks may include: * Owning outbound recruiting from start to finish: sourcing, screening and running most of the interview loop yourself, across technical, commercial and creative roles * Building a scalable hiring machine with outbound at its core, extending over time into university hiring, hackathons and referral networks * Acting as the first filter: knowing what exceptional looks like and where it comes from, so only the top of the funnel ever reaches our founders * Building talent pipelines across both Europe and the US * Standing up the people function as we scale: contracts, levelling, performance reviews, compensation, bonuses and benefits * Designing the internal systems and workflows a fast-growing, globally distributed team needs Who you are You're a talent professional who has personally scaled a high-growth company through its most exciting years, and you're hungry to do it again, hands on. You know what exceptional looks like, where to find it, and how to close it, and you bring both a network and a repeatable process. Typically, your profile will look like this: * 3+ years of experience in Talent Acquisition or Recruitment roles with demonstrated strategic impact; proven track record in high-growth or scale-up environments preferred * Recruiter or early people hire at a top-tier, high-growth consumer or AI startup, where you personally scaled the team through early growth * AI-native: you use AI in your own workflow and can credibly recruit for an AI-native company * Comfortable hiring across both Europe and the US, ideally from a remote or internationally distributed team * A real network and a systematic, repeatable process, not just a knack for people * Bonus: experience hiring creative talent too (video, visual, artists), not only engineers and commercial roles * Genuinely passionate about recruiting: it's the craft you want to keep doing * Colleagues would describe you as hard-working, ambitious and persistent What makes this exciting You are one of the first employees of an ambitious team, changing the world of media and entertainment. As the person who hires everyone who comes after you, your fingerprints will be on the entire company. Being early means every decision you make shapes our trajectory. You're not a cog in the machine but the captain of your own ship, rewarded for performance and respected for leadership. Flat hierarchies mean that your voice matters, your ideas get implemented, and your impact is immediate. We pay competitive salaries and make you an owner of the business with equity. We work remotely to give you complete freedom over your life, while meeting regularly around the world for global offsites where we strategize, bond, and push boundaries together. What the process will look like We hire on a rolling basis. Earliest starting date is always ASAP. Once you begin our process, you can progress from start to offer within a week, depending on how quickly you can move through each stage: 1. Initial interview: 30-minute introductory call - getting to know you 2. Founder interview: 60-minute interview with our CEO - going deep on all topics 3. Offer, contract signing and onboarding Note: As we are still in stealth, you will learn more about Melotech as you progress through the stages. By the end of the Founder interview, you will have a full grasp of our business and the details of your role.

Impact is. ⚡️ Your mission As Head of People & Talent, your mission is to lead Birdie's People function into its next chapter as an AI-first organisation. You'll inherit mature operating systems and a People strategy already pointed at the right horizon. Your job is to deliver it, and take it further: raise the bar on hiring, deepen our performance discipline, and embed AI into the way the function works so the rest of the company has a blueprint to follow. 🦸♀️ How you will contribute * Lead and develop a lean and strong People & Talent team, with strong autonomy and clear quarterly rhythms already in place * Own and deliver Birdie's talent strategy end to end, from workforce planning through to a hiring bar that brings in people who raise the level of every team they join * Run the performance, calibration and compensation cycles that protect Birdie's standards, with the courage to keep iterating where the data points to a leaner or sharper approach * Deliver Birdie's AI-first workforce programme alongside our COO: build AI fluency across the company and redesign people processes with automation in mind * Act as a trusted advisor and challenger to leaders on team health, hard conversations and the calls that shape culture, bringing the People view into executive decisions * Build the rituals, data and feedback loops that hold our culture together operationally as we grow, without softening the bar * Be a key member of our Leadership team to deliver Birdie’s vision and strategy, collaborating with other exceptional leaders to drive and optimise our ways of working 🤩 You’ll thrive here if... * You've led People & Talent in a high-growth B2B SaaS environment, ideally Series B or later * You have real conviction that great hiring, candid feedback and high accountability are the most generous things a People leader can offer their team * You've built and rebuilt People systems with an eye on automation, and you use AI in your own work every day * You bring a clear point of view and the data to back it up, and you're just as comfortable listening hard and committing * You're hands-on as well as strategic, energised by doing the work, not only directing it * You hold a low ego, thrive in ambiguity across competing priorities, and have a strong sense of what to push and what to park 🧠 Imposter syndrome is real — and we don’t expect you to tick every box. If you're excited about our mission and think you could make a difference here, we want to hear from you. 🌈 What you’ll get from us We believe people do their best work when they’re supported, trusted and inspired. Here’s how we build a world-class employee experience: 💸 Compensation * Competitive base salary, reviewed against benchmarks annually * Generous stock options - because we’re building this together * Bi-annual performance cycles with individual compensation reviews 🧠 Learning & Growth * Annual personal learning budget and access to training, coaching and mentorship * Time and space for growth - you set your development goals, we back them 🏡 Flexible Working * Hybrid working - 2–3 days per week in our incredible London HQ * Budget to set up your home workspace * Regular in-person meetups, socials and offsites 🏖 Time Off * 33 days holiday (25 days + public holidays) * Extra day off on your birthday (use it whenever you like!) * Company shutdown between Christmas and New Year * 2 volunteering days each year to give back to causes that matter 👶 Family-first Policies * Industry leading paid primary and secondary caregiver leave * 5 paid days for fertility treatments for those who need it * Private health insurance with AXA * Wellbeing perks via Happl (gym discounts, mental health support, and more) 🚲 Other Perks * Cycle to work scheme * 4% employer pension contribution when you contribute 5% (UK) * A deeply human, radically transparent culture ❓Why Birdie?
