As threat actors become more organized and AI reshapes the security landscape, we need a senior researcher who can operate at the intersection of applied AI, threat intelligence, and cyber operations—someone who can both advance what we know and change how we work.   This is a senior individual contributor role for a researcher who lives at the frontier of AI and cybersecurity. Your primary mission is to research how threat actors are adopting, weaponizing, and exploiting AI; from LLM-powered social engineering and automated vulnerability discovery to real-world attacks against agentic AI implementations. You'll help instrument telemetry to detect adversarial use of AI in the wild, assess emerging risks as AI capabilities evolve, and produce research that keeps Sophos and the broader security community ahead of the curve. As a domain expert in AI threats, you'll also be expected to help drive operational efficiencies across the Insights team, bringing the tools and techniques you research into our own workflows. You’ll report to the Sr. Manager, Threat Research and work alongside CTU researchers, SophosLabs malware analysts, MDR threat hunters, incident responders, engineering teams, and data scientists.

There will be some flexibility, but we believe that working together in person will help deliver the most speed and impact.   🤔 About the Role As Senior PM for Growth, you'll own the metrics that determine whether Nivoda grows. You'll lead a cross-functional squad of engineers and designers to ship fast, run experiments, and relentlessly improve conversion and retention across the funnel. This isn't a role for people who want to write specs and hand them over — it's for someone who thrives in the middle of the action, connects data to narrative, and leads their team toward outcomes with clarity and pace. You'll have autonomy to ship fast and lead the direction of your pod.   😎 What would YOU be doing? * Own key growth metrics across the funnel — from acquisition through to conversion and early retention — and drive measurable, sustained improvement. * Define and execute a roadmap that balances quick wins with long-term structural improvements to the customer experience. * Partner closely with engineering and design to ship experiments and features at pace — you know how to move fast without sacrificing quality. * Use data, customer research, and qualitative insight to identify the highest-leverage opportunities in the funnel and build a clear case for prioritisation. * Leverage AI tools to accelerate your own work — from writing specs, to running analyses, to generating test variants — and embed AI-powered features into the product where they create real value for users. * Tell compelling stories with data — whether you're presenting to the exec team, aligning engineering on priorities, or writing a one-pager that builds momentum. * Run structured experiments: define hypotheses, design tests, measure impact, and translate findings into product decisions. * Lead your squad toward outcomes, not outputs — you set the destination, remove blockers, and create an environment where the team does their best work. * Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing to understand friction points across the funnel and translate customer insight into product improvements. * Monitor key metrics weekly, build dashboards, and maintain a shared view of funnel health across the organisation.   😉 What do we need from YOU? * 5+ years of product management experience, with a demonstrable track record of driving growth or conversion metrics at a B2B or marketplace company. * Strong bias for action — you default to doing, not deliberating. You ship, learn, and iterate. * Exceptional storytelling and communication skills — you can distil complex data into a clear narrative and align stakeholders at every level. * Proven ability to collaborate at speed with engineering and design teams — you know how to build trust quickly and keep cross-functional work moving. * Deep comfort with data: you're proficient in SQL or equivalent, confident building dashboards, and able to design and evaluate A/B experiments. * Experience using AI tools to accelerate product work — whether for research, spec writing, analysis, or feature ideation. * High energy for new problems — you're energised by ambiguity, not paralysed by it. We're hiring a Regional Threat Assessment Manager to join the Protective Intelligence program within Coinbase's Security organization. This team protects Coinbase employees, executives, facilities, and operations by identifying, assessing, and mitigating threats through intelligence-led case management and structured behavioral assessment. You'll serve as the regional lead and subject matter expert for Threat Assessment and Management, owning complex and sensitive threat cases end-to-end while partnering with GSOC, Executive Protection, Legal, HR/ER, Insider Threat, and other stakeholders to drive coordinated response and help mature the program's regional capabilities. What you'll do: * Own end-to-end threat case management for your region, from intake, triage, and behavioral assessment through mitigation planning, documentation, and closure for threats impacting employees, executives, facilities, and other Coinbase assets. * Lead structured behavioral threat assessments using Coinbase methodologies and accepted frameworks (e.g., JACA, WAVR-21, CTAP-25) to evaluate motivation, capability, escalation indicators, and stabilizers, then translate findings into clear operational recommendations. * Drive intelligence-led incident response by serving as the intelligence lead during active incidents, coordinating with GSOC, ensuring timely escalation, and delivering decision support through resolution. * Partner cross-functionally with Executive Protection, GSOC, Legal, HR/ER, Insider Threat, and Communications to coordinate response actions, align mitigations, and manage reporting obligations. * Produce decision-ready briefings, written assessments, and executive updates that communicate threat posture, risk rationale, and recommended next steps to security leadership and cross-functional partners. * Strengthen regional program maturity by improving intake standards, QA/QC, playbooks, metrics, training, and handoff processes, and by mentoring peers through expertise and influence. Required Skills and Experience: * 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in threat assessment and management, protective intelligence, workplace violence prevention, behavioral threat assessment, or closely related security functions. * Demonstrated track record operating as a senior individual contributor and regional SME, independently owning ambiguous, high-consequence casework with limited oversight while influencing outcomes across teams without direct authority. * Proven ability to conduct threat investigations and translate fragmented information into clear assessments, prioritized risks, and practical mitigation plans using structured professional judgment frameworks. * Proficiency with case management and intelligence tools (e.g., Ontic, OSINT platforms, public records research, social media monitoring) with a track record of improving processes and tooling to increase signal quality. * Experience coordinating with law enforcement, managing investigative referrals, and navigating workplace violence reporting obligations across jurisdictions. * Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
