We're putting together a talented team to build the #1 training platform for Runners
We help everyday runners become outstanding by building an incredible app providing world-class training, coaching and community
for everyone, whether you're improving your 5k time or training for your first marathon.
We’re growing extremely fast! In November 2023 we closed a $6.5M funding round led by JamJar with participation from Eka Ventures,
Venrex and Creator Ventures. In 2024, we were selected by Apple as one of three global finalists for the iPhone app of the year,
reflecting the innovation and impact of what we’ve built & in 2025 we were acquired by Strava!
Our ambition is huge: to become the go-to global leading training platform for millions of runners everywhere. We’re growing with
purpose and looking for people who want to build something meaningful with lasting impact. With the recent acquisition by Strava
accelerating our journey, now is a really magical time to join. 🚀
The CRM team at Runna sits within our Growth Marketing function and is responsible for how our owned channels interact with our
brand to give our Runnas the best app experience possible. From first-touch onboarding through to retention, renewal, and winback,
we utilise our channels (Email, Push & In-app) to help sustain our incredible growth. Sitting at the intersection of marketing,
product, and data, the team builds and iterates lifecycle journeys that drive growth while protecting customer experience.
This role works closely with other Growth Marketing teams, Product, Data, Brand/Partnerships, and the Lifecycle team at Strava to
ensure our comms engine is scalable, measurable, and continuously improving.
You'll own Runna's CRM function end-to-end, working directly with the Growth Marketing Director to define the CRM strategy and
deliver against company OKRs. You'll partner cross-functionally to ensure CRM is tightly integrated with product changes, brand
initiatives, and the broader Growth roadmap. You'll lead our fantastic CRM team of 4, that sit across both our Acquisition and
Retention initiatives whilst also managing key vendor relationships.
Set the direction for lifecycle marketing (conversion, retention, renewals, winback), translate priorities into a clear roadmap,
and drive delivery across the team’s backlog and planned initiatives. Use qualitative feedback, product data, and user research
to shape what we send, when, and why.
Maintain or upgrade our current measurement framework that proves CRM’s incremental value to the business. Establish clear
attribution and incrementality approaches (holdouts/A-B tests where possible), and ensure tracking is reliable across channels and
platforms. Drive monthly reporting rhythms and create clear updates for performance reviews and cross-functional alignment.
Foster a test-and-learn operating rhythm across the team — structured experimentation calendars, shared learnings, and a bias
toward evidence over assumption. Stay current on lifecycle and CRM industry evolution and bring new ideas, tools, and approaches
back to the team. Encourage curiosity and make space for the team to explore what's next.
Set a high bar for quality and create an environment where the team does the best work of their careers. Provide clear
prioritisation, regular coaching, and constructive feedback. Identify stretch opportunities that accelerate individual growth, and
actively develop the team's skills in areas like experimentation design, data fluency, and cross-functional collaboration.
HELP DRIVE CROSS-BRAND LIFECYCLE GROWTH ACROSS STRAVA AND RUNNA:
Partner closely with Strava stakeholders to turn cross-brand opportunities into measurable lifecycle impact — shaping strategy and
execution for communications that send Strava audiences into Runna (and keep them engaged). Help to maintain tight coordination
across teams, and continuously optimise performance through testing and learnings.
MANAGE RELATIONSHIPS WITH KEY CRM AND DELIVERABILITY VENDORS:
Own vendor relationships end-to-end — onboarding and enablement, contract/commercials support, roadmap alignment, and ongoing
performance management. Act as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting and technical support, coordinate escalations and
feature requests, and ensure each tool is configured correctly and used effectively across the team.
performance optimisation
Running toward the data, not away from it. You treat experimentation as a core operating discipline and build a culture of
learning and iteration.
Building strong cross-functional relationships. Product, Data, Engineering, and Growth stakeholders trust you as the owner of CRM
strategy and execution.
You’re a real problem solver and don’t mind upskilling yourself and your team when entering new CRM territory.
Thinking in systems, not sends. You build lifecycle infrastructure (templates, tooling hygiene, reporting cadence) that makes the
whole team faster over time.
We’re also committed to continually evolving our benefits to support you as we grow. Here is a brief overview what we currently
offer in the UK 🇬🇧

We're putting together a talented team to build the #1 training platform for Runners We help everyday runners become outstanding by building an incredible app providing world-class training, coaching and community for everyone, whether you're improving your 5k time or training for your first marathon. We’re growing extremely fast! In November 2023 we closed a $6.5M funding round led by JamJar with participation from Eka Ventures, Venrex and Creator Ventures. Our ambition is huge: to become the go-to global leading training platform for millions of runners everywhere. We’re growing with purpose and looking for people who want to build something meaningful with lasting impact. With the recent acquisition by Strava accelerating our journey, now is a really magical time to join. 🚀 THE TEAM YOU’LL JOIN We’re looking for a full stack engineer to join our Growth team, with a strong focus on marketing technology. You’ll sit at the intersection of product, data and marketing – building and maintaining the systems that power our acquisition, activation and retention efforts across channels. Although Marketing Technology is a core part of this role, you’ll also spend a significant portion of your time working across full‑stack initiatives in our Growth Product Squad – building features, launching experiments, and iterating based on results. You’ll join our cross-functional Growth squad, working closely with product, marketing and data. The team is responsible for: * Improving how new users discover, try and subscribe to Runna. * Running experiments across the funnel, from ad click through to in‑app activation and ongoing engagement. * Owning the core tools and integrations that power our marketing and lifecycle communications. HOW WE WORK * Cross‑functional, collaborative teams with shared goals. * Iterative development, continuous deployment and a strong focus on testing and observability. * High autonomy, high ownership – you’ll have real responsibility for growth outcomes and the systems that support them. You’ll also collaborate with the wider engineering org to ensure our growth systems are robust, observable and align with our overall architecture and standards. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING * Own implementation and maintenance of ad tracking SDKs and MMPs (for example TikTok, Meta, Google, AppsFlyer), including event mapping and monitoring for signal loss. * Build and maintain tracking and tag manager setups across web and app so our data is reliable, privacy‑respectful and useful for models and reporting. * Design, build, test and ship full stack features that support growth (for example landing pages, onboarding flows, referral and promo experiences). * Integrate and maintain CRM and lifecycle tooling (for example Iterable or similar), including catalogues, data feeds, deeplinks and email / in‑app templates. * Build internal tools, automations and scripts (for example in Python or Node) that connect systems, improve workflows and power pLTV, dashboards and alerting. * Collaborate closely with Growth, Marketing and Data to scope experiments and quickly ship A/B tests and campaigns that move key metrics. WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TEAM: * Solid experience as a full stack engineer (ideally 3+ years), comfortable working across frontend and backend. * Strong TypeScript/JavaScript skills and experience with modern frontend frameworks (for example React / React Native). * Hands‑on experience integrating and maintaining marketing technology such as: * Analytics and product analytics tools. * Mobile / web attribution. * Tag managers and event tracking. * CRM or lifecycle platforms (email, push, in‑app messaging). * Comfort working closely with non‑engineering partners (marketing, product, data) and translating business goals into technical solutions. * A bias towards experimentation and iteration – you care about impact and learning fast. * Strong ownership mindset: you’re happy to take a problem from idea to shipped, monitored solution. * Good understanding of event tracking, data quality and debugging issues across multiple platforms and tools. BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE: * Experience with mobile growth and attribution (for example RevenueCat, app store / play store tooling, mobile attribution providers). * Previous experience in a product‑led or consumer subscription business. * Experience with experimentation platforms and A/B testing. * Familiarity with AWS or another major cloud provider and modern CI/CD practices. * Experience working in or closely with a Growth / Marketing team. OUR TECH STACK Below you can find a small reflection of our current tech stack: FRONTEND: * React Native (iOS and Android) * Typescript * GraphQL (Apollo Client) * Fastlane * SwiftUI (Apple Watch) * Maestro E2E tests BACKEND: * Serverless (AWS) * Lambdas (NodeJS & Python) * AWS AppSync * DynamoDB, S3, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, SageMaker * Snowflake ALL THE OTHER GOOD STUFF: * Sentry * GitHub Actions * Intercom, Mixpanel * RevenueCat * App Store Connect / Play Store * Google Tag Manager SALARY AND BENEFITS We’re offering a salary of £70,000-£78,000 per year, depending on experience, plus participation in Strava's long-term incentive (stock) programs. We'll ensure you're comfortable with hotels and travel arrangements when this is needed.
