Role Overview
Compliance plays a critical role in ensuring Coupang operates ethically, transparently, and in full alignment with applicable
laws, regulations, and internal policies. As a Compliance Director/Senior Principal, you will lead and manage compliance programs
across multiple domains, ensuring they are effectively embedded into the organization and executed with rigor.
You will act as a strategic partner to business and functional leaders, driving compliance program governance, risk management,
and remediation efforts while operating in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving global environment.
What You Will Do
Develop and manage compliance programs across key domains including Health & Safety, Fire Safety, Fair Trade, HR, Product & Trade,
Environment, Last Mile Logistics, Trust & Safety, AML/Sanctions, Data Privacy, Ethics & Anti-Corruption, and Financial Crime
Drive program governance by establishing timelines, tracking progress, and ensuring delivery of key compliance priorities
Develop and maintain centralized risk tracking systems to monitor compliance gaps and remediation progress
Ensure timely identification, escalation, and resolution of non-compliance issues across the organization
Collaborate closely with compliance domain leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure program effectiveness and alignment
Prepare and communicate reports, dashboards, and metrics on compliance program performance, including risk status, legal
registers, monitoring activities, and compliance priorities
Partner with senior leadership to drive remediation efforts and strengthen compliance controls
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance compliance frameworks, processes, and organizational awareness
Promote a strong compliance culture by embedding policies, standards, and expectations across the organization
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Finance or related field
10+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, or related areas
Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
Experience in compliance program management and risk assessment methodologies
Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate complex risks and develop practical solutions
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
Preferred Qualifications
Broad knowledge across multiple compliance domains
Experience managing compliance programs in e-commerce, technology, or logistics environments

ABOUT THE ROLE: Note: this is a fixed-term contract position with an initial expected duration of 12-18 months. As the Regulatory Risk and Compliance Lead GL/EU, your core purpose is to lead the design, implementation and oversight of the global regulatory risk framework, support international expansion, and ensure consistent application of regulatory standards across all jurisdictions. You will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating regulatory risks, while ensuring that Tide’s compliance frameworks are embedded across the business. This role focuses on global strategy, standard-setting, and oversight, occasionally supporting regional compliance roles that handle local regulator engagement and local BAU activities. Working closely with teams across the organisation, including Product, Member Operations, Payments, Marketing, Legal and Finance, you will provide expert advice on regulatory developments, lead compliance initiatives, and integrate regulatory requirements into our day-to-day operations.
