HEAD OF TAX STRATEGY ABOUT THE TEAM SumUp’s tax team is evolving, and this role will play a critical part in shaping its next chapter. Reporting to the Global Head of Tax, you’ll lead the execution of tax strategy across a complex international business with more than 40+ entities globally, with a strong focus on Europe. This is a high-impact role for a senior tax leader who combines strong technical depth with sound judgement, commercial awareness, and a hands-on approach. You’ll act as a key thought partner to the Global Head of Tax while helping translate strategy into clear, practical execution across the wider tax function. TAX PROCESS AND OPERATIONS LEAD Finance | Sofia, Bulgaria Meet the team in Sofia ABOUT THE TEAM SumUp's Tax function sits at the heart of a business across more than 35 entities in Europe and APAC. The Tax team is responsible for corporate income tax and transfer pricing across the group, and is actively building the infrastructure to match the scale and scrutiny that comes with that responsibility. This is a build role. As Tax Process and Operations Lead, you'll own the design and implementation of SumUp's ETR, provisioning and tax financial reporting framework from the ground up, creating the methodology, models, controls, and tooling that underpin how tax positions flow into financial statements, management reporting, and cash forecasting. You’ll lead the end-to-end design of how tax technical positions are translated into financial reporting, management reporting, and cash forecasting outputs - partnering closely with Tax, Accounting, Controlling, FP&A, and Treasury to define the processes, controls, data flows, and automation requirements that make this scalable across the group. As SumUp scales across 37 markets, the integrity of our tax accounting is more critical than ever and this role is the operational engine that makes it work. You'll apply the technical tax framework in day-to-day execution, producing precise calculations, accurate postings, and fully reconciled outputs that flow into our financial statements and management accounts.This is a hands-on, high-ownership role where your work directly shapes the quality of our tax reporting outputs, supports accurate financial statements and management accounts, and helps strengthen the processes behind them.
