Let’s fix hospitality, for good.
Hospitality runs on thin margins, and most operators are stretched trying to protect them. We built Nory to fix this problem.
Our CEO, Conor, knows the pain first-hand. He founded and scaled Mad Egg in Ireland, and grew tired of stitching together
so-called market-leading systems and spreadsheets just to keep the business running. He set out to build the tool he wished he’d
had from day one.
Nory is a restaurant management system that blends real-time data with machine learning and autonomous agents to give operators
real control of their margins. From food prep to forecasting, it is the operational intelligence that helps restaurants run
profitably, with less waste and better jobs for the people working in them.
Fresh off a Series B led by Kinnevik, we’ve grown to over 100 people across Ireland, the UK, Spain and New York. Demand is scaling
faster than we expected.
The role
We’re looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer to join our Web & Mobile Platform team.
Nory Team is the mobile app we’ve built for everyone on the restaurant floor. It's how staff clock in, check their shifts, book
leave and get paid. As part of our continuous investment into our stack, we want to rebuild our app from scratch to make sure we
have the best possible experience for our customers.
You'll own the rebuild end to end: assess what's there, set the architecture, plan the migration and ship an MVP in one to two
quarters, then grow it into a platform the rest of engineering builds on. You'll lean on AI to move fast while keeping the quality
bar high.
The real challenge is reliability. These apps run in basements with no signal, on cracked and low-spec phones, for people who
often speak English as a second language. A failed clock-in means a missed shift or a missed paycheck, so it has to work every
time. Nailing that in the messiest conditions is the heart of the job.
React Native is where you'll spend most of your days, so deep experience with it is essential. Our apps currently run on Capacitor
over React, and the wider stack is Python, FastAPI, React, TypeScript, Node.js, AWS (Fargate, Aurora, SQS), Postgres, MongoDB and
Docker.
What you’ll be doing
Our squads are cross-functional and run with a lot of autonomy. You’ll own the mobile platform end to end, from working out what’s
there today to a full production rebuild and everything after it, working closely with product, design and engineers from across
the business.
clocking in reliably isn’t optional.
just the app. This means thinking carefully about how to design our codebases to allow for high quality outcomes with coding
agents.
base to build on.
What you’ll bring
codebase on your own, start to finish. You don’t need Swift or Kotlin, though a bit of curiosity about the lower-level APIs on
each OS goes a long way.
detail, design and craft. That mix of speed and taste is exactly what we’re after.
rebuilt a legacy app, and you can walk us through the architecture, testing and migration decisions you made, and why.
when they’re the kind of user most software ignores. To you, design quality is part of the engineering, not someone else’s job.
purely on mobile.
you’re careful about API calls, webhooks and performance so things stay fast and dependable.
to them too. That’s a slightly different personality from your average engineer.
to say “I decided” than “we decided.”
Bonus points
Our stack
React Native, TypeScript, React, Node.js, Capacitor (legacy), Python, FastAPI, AWS (Fargate, Aurora, SQS), Postgres, MongoDB,
Docker
What you’ll get in return
How we work
Our vision is to build a better future for the restaurant industry, one where operators are in control of their businesses and the
people on the floor can build careers they are proud of. To get there we move fast, stay focused and hold ourselves to a high bar.
Our values guide how we work and grow together.
We hire humans.
At Nory, we believe that diverse teams build better products. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, identities, and walks of
life. We do not discriminate based on gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, family status, age, disability, or race.
What matters to us is how you think, how you work, and what you bring to the table.

At our company, we value international talent, diversity, flexibility, and a collaborative environment that fosters both professional growth and personal well-being. ABOUT THE ROLE At Nuvolar, we are looking for a Senior QA Engineer to join one of our healthcare projects, working on digital health solutions that support complex workflows and critical software platforms. You will become part of a technical team responsible for ensuring the quality of a platform that manages sensitive healthcare information, integrations, and services within a complex digital health ecosystem. This role is a great opportunity for a QA Engineer who enjoys understanding complex products, defining quality strategies, designing meaningful test scenarios, and collaborating closely with developers and product teams to deliver reliable software. As the first QA Engineer joining this product team, you'll have the opportunity to shape how quality is built into the product from the early stages. NICE TO HAVE * Experience working in healthcare, digital health, medical software, or other regulated environments. * Previous experience with patient data, identity management, or clinical workflows. * Knowledge of Spring Boot, Java, Maven, or Java backend ecosystems. * Experience with Playwright. * Experience replacing or modernising existing automation frameworks. * Experience with contract testing, distributed systems, or end-to-end integration testing. * Experience with Docker and containerised development or testing environments. 💜 WHY YOU’LL LOVE WORKING AT NUVOLAR * Flexible Work & Work-Life Balance: enjoy options to balance work and personal life, including every other Friday off. * Remote Work: this is a fully remote position, giving you the flexibility to work from anywhere in Spain while staying closely connected with your team. * Seniority Program: enjoy additional benefits and privileges as you grow with the company. * Social & Team Budget: even though we primarily work remotely, we encourage team gatherings and activities, with a dedicated budget. * Continuous Learning: access training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. * Growth Opportunities: participate in challenging healthcare technology projects, work with modern technologies, shape the QA strategy of a growing product team, and contribute to the evolution of quality engineering practices. 👥 THE HIRING PROCESS 1. Project & Role Introduction A first conversation with one of our engineering team members to introduce the project, explain the role in detail, and answer your initial questions about the opportunity. 2. Technical Assessment You'll complete a take-home QA challenge designed to evaluate your technical approach, testing strategy, and problem-solving skills. 3. Technical Interview A discussion with our engineering team to review your assessment, explore your technical experience, and talk through real-world testing scenarios, technical decisions, and your way of working. 4. Cultural Fit Interview A conversation with our Talent Acquisition team to learn more about your background, career goals, and what you're looking for in your next opportunity. It's also a chance for you to ask any remaining questions about Nuvolar, our culture, and the role. 5. Client Interview (if required) Depending on the project, there may be a final conversation with the client to discuss the role, the team, and how you'll collaborate within the project environment. In our screening process, we prioritize verifiable signals of excellence, regardless of seniority. There are no preferential paths beyond what your application demonstrates, and we evaluate every candidate through the same process. Some people hold back because they feel they lack experience or have an “imperfect” CV. If you like the role and believe you could excel over time, don’t self-reject. All applications go through our careers page, which is the only way to be considered. If you pass our screening, you’ll be asked to complete one or more tests. 🚀 Join a team where trust, growth, and purpose go hand in hand. At DATAPAO, data ignites passion, community fuels collaboration, and growth knows no bounds. We are a leading Data Engineering and AI consulting company backed by Databricks and recognized for our unmatched delivery standards and rapid growth. We have been named Databricks EMEA Emerging Business Partner of the Year (2024), achieved the Golden Tier status in the Databricks Partner Program, and made three consecutive appearances on the Financial Times FT1000 list. We are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join us remotely in Spain. You will work with our EMEA and US customers to help them solve their data engineering, ML, ML Ops, and cloud migration puzzles. "As a Data Engineer at DATAPAO, you will have the unique opportunity to push the boundaries of technology and lead the way in how data transforms the world. We work with customers who want to innovate and change their industries. So it never gets boring! Sorting out a complex technical puzzle, setting up a new data architecture from scratch, or guiding our customers through adopting the latest technologies is our routine here. Hence, we'd expect you to be more than just a (data) engineer. We'd expect you to breathe and live data, to thrive for knowledge and excellence, and to be keen to build something enduring and impactful for our customers. We'd expect you to be a (data) Paoneer!" (Máté Gulyás, CEO) What will you do? As a Senior Data Engineer, you are expected to deliver (across industries) on some of our most complex projects - individually or by leading small delivery teams. Although we work for the biggest multinational companies where years-long behemoth projects are the norm, our projects are fast-paced, typically 2 to 4 months long. Most are delivered using Apache Spark/Databricks on AWS/Azure and require you to directly manage the customer relationship alone or in collaboration with a Project Manager. Additionally, at this seniority level, we expect you to compound your impact across the team and the organization - by supporting our pre-sales process, mentoring more junior engineers, and contributing to hiring best-in-class data talent. What does it take to fit the bill? Technical Expertise * You (ideally) have 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, with a focus on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP); * You have a proven track record working with Databricks (PySpark, SQL, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog); * You have extensive experience in ETL/ELT development and data pipeline orchestration (e.g., Databricks Workflows, DLT, Airflow, ADF, Glue, and Step Functions.); * You’re proficient in SQL and Python, using them to transform and optimize data like a pro; * You know your way around CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep); * You’ve hands-on experience integrating Databricks with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker). Consulting & Client-Facing Skills * Ideally, you bring a proven history in consulting, from scoping to gathering requirements, designing solutions, and communicating effectively with stakeholders. If you bring a product company background with you, that's also fine as long as you can show a good consulting mindset and desire to be customer-facing; * You’ve successfully delivered projects like Data Lakehouse buildouts and cloud data migrations; * You excel in explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences and drive decision-making. Operational Readiness & Soft Skills * You’re (almost) ready to hit the ground running, immediately contributing to live client projects; * In a fast-paced consulting environment, where no two days are the same, flexibility and problem-solving comes naturally to you. Furthermore, resilience and thriving on challenges are essential traits in our industry; * Your communication skills are on point—whether you’re writing, speaking, or collaborating with stakeholders, you know how to keep everyone in the loop. What do we offer? You'll have the rare opportunity to join DATAPAO at a time when you can still meaningfully impact our growth trajectory and organizational success. Furthermore, as our first-ever Spain hire, you could meaningfully contribute to expanding our local presence and, eventually, establishing a physical hub in this geography. Surely, we know everyone needs a little something to do their best work. Here is a list of some other extras we offer: * The chance to work remotely - as we don't have a physical office in Spain yet, we offer a fully remote setup for the time being. However, given our strong community emphasis, we'd expect you to spend one month in our Budapest hub during onboarding and visit the office for one week every quarter; * World-class educational benefits - there’s no shortage of learning opportunities at DATAPAO, meaning that you'll get access to Databricks' public and internal courses to learn all the tricks of Distributed Data Processing, MLOps, Apache Spark, Databricks, and Cloud Migration from the best. Additionally, we'll pay for various data & cloud certifications, you'll get dedicated time for learning during work hours, and access to our internal library; * Flexible PTO days - we’re flexible with how many days you take off if that does not conflict with customer success and the work getting done; * Fully paid Medical Leave for up to 15 days per year - because when you’re unwell, we want you to focus on recovery and not worry about your paycheck; * Comprehensive private health insurance plan via Allianz - offered via our EOR (Employer of Record) provider, Remote.com. Remote will be your official employer in Spain for the foreseeable future until we establish our own legal entity in Spain; * Employee Assistance Program (EAP) via Allianz & Remote - life always happens! And we'd like to be there for you when it counts the most. Through EAP, we offer our employees access to psychology, financial, and legal consulting services via phone or in person; * Top-notch working equipment - working comfortably means working well. You will get a MacBook Pro and a sign-up bonus of 500 EUR gross (to be paid with your first payroll) to set up your home office or whatever else is needed to give your best; * The chance to make an impact in a high-transparency culture - open feedback and no politics are things we value a lot at DATAPAO. Additionally, you'll get the chance to work in the field of data & AI and shape the future of a rapidly growing tech company. IMPORTANT NOTE: Given that we are still sorting our way in Spain, this list will likely get an update in the following months, and we're also committed to growing it with us over time. The gross salary for this position ranges from 70.000 to 80.000 EUR/year, depending on your assessed seniority level during the selection process. Please note that currently we are unable to support transfer or offer full sponsorship for Skilled Worker visas as we’re just setting foot into Spain. WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT US?
