ABOUT THE ROLE Legora AB is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to play a lead role in shipping high-impact features and building scalable systems. In this senior position, you’ll own delivery of technical solutions from design through production, driving innovation while collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, and other teams. WHAT YOU’LL DO * Architect, design, and ship new features with a focus on speed, quality, and reliability * Collaborate cross-functionally to translate business needs and product ideas into robust technical solutions * Lead engineers through the full software development lifecycle—from ideation and scoping to development, release, and ongoing optimization * Champion automation and process improvements that accelerate feature delivery and maintain technical excellence * Ensure code quality, documentation, and compliance standards are met as features move from prototype to release * Mentor engineers and foster a collaborative, high-trust environment that values rapid delivery WHO YOU ARE * Extensive experience in software engineering, with a history of shipping impactful features in complex systems * Deep understanding of system design, software architecture, and modern development practices * Effective technical leader and mentor who prioritizes feature delivery without sacrificing quality * Exceptional collaborator and communicator, comfortable working across disciplines and with stakeholders at all levels * Advocate for continuous delivery, automation, and process efficiency Legora is an Equal Opportunity Employer At Legora, we believe great teams are built on diversity of thought and experience. The role As a Software Engineer at Legora, you’ll play a key role in building the technical foundation that powers our products, designing, developing, and improving the core systems used by legal professionals around the world. You’ll work across the stack, contributing to the architecture and features that define our platform. *This is a Stockholm-based, 5-day in-office role, we believe building together in person drives better outcomes. What you will be doing: * Lead the design, development, and deployment of end-to-end features for our web platform, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability. * Take full ownership of critical parts of the codebase, balancing quality, scalability, and speed of development. * Work with technologies such as React, Node.js, AWS, Azure, and Kubernetes, leveraging the right tools to solve complex challenges. * Collaborate closely with product and design teams to translate requirements into elegant, robust technical solutions. * Review code and mentor colleagues, raising the overall technical bar and fostering a culture of excellence. * Drive continuous improvement by challenging assumptions, exploring new technologies, and pushing both yourself and the team to innovate. * Contribute to infrastructure, integrations, and architecture discussions to ensure the platform evolves sustainably. Who you are * An engineer with experience building and shipping modern software products. * Comfortable working across the stack, with solid skills in backend development. * Passionate about writing maintainable, secure code—and take pride in building things that last. * A problem solver who enjoys thinking about architecture, data flows, and long-term sustainability. * Familiar with cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and integrations (experience with enterprise-scale systems is a plus, but not required). * Proactive, curious, and motivated by working in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment. THE ROLE As a Software Engineer in Internal Tooling team at Legora, you will build and own the systems that power our internal operations for Customer Enablement at scale. This team sits at the intersection of Engineering, and Operations, designing and developing the backoffice platforms, automation workflows, and AI-driven tools that enable our teams to deliver world-class support to our clients. You’ll create mission-critical systems that increase efficiency, reduce manual work, and embed AI directly into our customer support and operational processes. Your work will have immediate, measurable impact across the company. This is a Stockholm-based, 5-day in-office role. We believe building together in person drives better outcomes in a fast-scaling environment. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING * Own and evolve our internal backoffice systems, including support tooling, admin interfaces, and operational platforms. * Design and implement automation workflows that eliminate manual processes and improve reliability across customer support and operations. * Build AI-powered internal tools that leverage LLMs and intelligent workflows to assist support agents, automate triage, surface insights, and improve response quality and speed. * Work with technologies such as React, Node.js, AWS, Azure, and Kubernetes, leveraging the right tools to solve complex challenges. * Architect and maintain integrations between third-party systems (CRM, ticketing platforms, billing systems, analytics tools, etc.) and our core product. * Develop scalable internal services and APIs that support operational needs while maintaining high standards for security, observability, and reliability. * Partner closely with Customer Enablement, Engineering and Product teams to deeply understand pain points and translate them into robust technical solutions. * Take end-to-end ownership from problem definition and system design to deployment, monitoring, and iteration. * Continuously identify opportunities to apply AI and automation to unlock efficiency gains across the organization. WHO YOU ARE * An experienced engineer who enjoys building systems that enable other teams to move faster and operate smarter. * Comfortable working across the stack, with strong backend fundamentals and a pragmatic approach to frontend and internal UX. * Experienced with APIs, integrations, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS/Azure, Kubernetes). * Excited about applying AI/LLMs in practical, production-grade workflows, especially in operational or support contexts. * Passionate about automation, system design, and reducing complexity through thoughtful engineering. * A proactive problem solver who thrives in fast-moving startup environments and enjoys owning systems end-to-end. * Motivated by impact, you care about building tools that directly improve how the company operates at scale.
