Tech Innovation at Apotea Apotea is Sweden’s largest online pharmacy, committed to making healthcare products accessible and efficient for everyone. Our Tech department aims to redefine how AI and automation drive modern businesses — not by forcing AI into traditional workflows, but by creating AI-driven systems that give humans control, insight, and the ability to apply their expertise where it matters most.
The Core Technology team builds the architectural foundation supporting e-commerce, logistics, data, AI/ML, and customer experience. We ensure all development aligns with our long-term vision and contributes to Apotea’s growth.
We are now looking for a Lead Security Engineer to take full ownership of Apotea’s security strategy, ensure compliance, and enable teams to build and innovate securely at scale.
The Role As Lead Security Engineer, you will define, implement, and evolve security practices across AWS (serverless-first), e-commerce, logistics, and data platforms. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on engineering — you will implement security yourself while empowering others to do so.
You will act as the first-line technical security lead, defining guardrails, monitoring risks, and leading incident response. You will develop secure practices for coding with AI assistants, ensuring generated code meets security standards, avoids data leakage, and aligns with regulations. You will also communicate complex security concepts clearly across the organization.
Location: Sveavägen 168, Stockholm, Sweden (On-site)
Key Responsibilities
Security Leadership
Own and evolve Apotea’s security strategy across cloud, applications, and infrastructure.
Translate business and regulatory requirements into sustainable security practices.

Lead IAM practices, enforcing least-privilege and zero-trust.
Oversee vulnerability management, penetration testing, and patching.
Ensure secure DevSecOps pipelines and IaC security.
Monitoring & Incident Response
Build and operate monitoring, detection, and alerting systems (SIEM, EDR, GuardDuty, Security Hub).
Lead incident response: investigate, contain, and recover from security events.
Maintain and test playbooks for emerging threats.
Governance & Compliance
Ensure GDPR, healthcare regulations, and industry standards compliance.
Embed security and privacy by design across development.
Partner with legal, compliance, and business units for regulatory readiness.
Provide training and frameworks for safe AI usage without compromising security.
Collaboration & Culture
Work closely with engineers, architects, and product teams to integrate security early.
Mentor engineers in secure coding and infrastructure practices.
Advocate for a strong security culture.
Qualifications
Extensive experience as a security engineer and organization’s main security expert.
Proven expertise in securing AWS (IAM, networking, serverless, encryption, monitoring).
Strong background in designing secure, scalable, cloud-native systems.
Hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanners, secrets management.
Deep knowledge in DevSecOps and IaC (CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation).
Programming/scripting skills: Go, TypeScript, .NET, Python, or similar.
Nice to Have: experience in regulated industries, compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS), or red/blue team operations.
Why Join Apotea?
Stable company with a meaningful mission: improving healthcare accessibility.
Work on cutting-edge AI, ML, and automation impacting millions of customers.
Modern cloud-native technologies (serverless, AI, event-driven).
Flat, agile organization with minimal bureaucracy.

End-to-end project ownership from concept to deployment.

Salesforce has launched Agentforce, and NeuraFlash, Part of Accenture, was selected as the only partner for the private beta prior to launch. Post-launch, we’ve earned the distinction of being Salesforce’s #1 partner for Agentforce, reinforcing our role as pioneers in this transformative space. Be part of the NeuraFlash, Part of Accenture journey and help shape the next wave of AI-powered transformation. Here, you’ll collaborate with trailblazing experts who are passionate about pushing boundaries and leveraging technologies like Agentforce to create impactful customer outcomes. Whether you're developing advanced AI-powered bots, streamlining business operations, or building solutions using the latest generative AI technologies, your work will drive innovation at scale. If you’re ready to make your mark in the AI space, NeuraFlash, Part of Accenture is the place for you. This role bridges technology and enterprise architecture, surrounded by a deeply talented team of engineers and architects who push each other's thinking. NeuraFlash, Part of Accenture, offers the autonomy that comes with being trusted as an expert — you're given the room to lead and the support to do it well — while you work alongside recognized leaders in agentic AI, on an expanding roster of enterprise clients and high-impact engagements. ABOUT THE ROLE This role anchors our AWS practice as it takes on larger, more complex engagements — the kind where much of the work happens before any build begins. Enterprise clients expect architects who already speak their language: people who can lead a security review with confidence and understand what an approval process is really asking for. This role exists to make sure that groundwork is set deliberately and consistently, on every engagement. As an Enterprise Architect, you sit where delivery, security and governance, and the client relationship all meet. Solution and Technical Architects lead the individual designs, and you hold the enterprise view that keeps them coherent as a whole — technically, and in the client's eyes. You'll be the person the client comes to for the full picture, and one the team leans on to keep a complex engagement on track — just as you'll lean on them. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING * Own the architecture across a client engagement — keeping the technical decisions, the business goals, and the delivery timeline pointed in the same direction from discovery through go-live * Be the client's main point of contact for architecture and technical strategy, translating their business goals into an AWS architecture that delivers on them * Lead client security reviews, compliance, and approval and quality gates, and get the documentation shaped right so things keep moving instead of stalling * Work alongside Solution and Technical Architects, giving them the cross-system, cross-stakeholder context that keeps their designs coherent at the enterprise level * Run discovery, build the business case and ROI for modernization, and help pre-sales with estimates and executive conversations * Set up the standards, governance, and reusable playbooks that make the next engagement easier than the last — including a cleaner, repeatable way to stand up greenfield AWS accounts * Comfortable running several client engagements at once without losing the thread on any of them * Look after the health of the client relationship, spotting risks early and being the one accountable person the client can always go to WHAT YOU'LL BRING REQUIRED: * 8+ years of hands-on AWS architecture, with real depth across the core services * 5+ years designing and governing secure, scalable, highly available systems in complex organizations * A track record of owning client relationships and outcomes, not only technical deliverables * Comfort in front of regulated enterprise clients — you understand what their security, compliance and approval processes are really asking for, and you carry credibility with their executives * Consulting or professional services experience, where managing the client relationship is inseparable from the technical work * TOGAF certification, or equivalent depth applying a formal enterprise architecture framework in practice NICE TO HAVE: * Experience with Amazon Connect or other CCaaS/contact center solutions, including AWS + Salesforce integration (Connect + Service Cloud Voice) * AWS certifications (Solutions Architect – Professional or a relevant Specialty) * Experience with AI/ML services like Amazon Q, Bedrock, or SageMaker * Multi-cloud experience (Azure or GCP) alongside a primary AWS focus. YOU'LL PROBABLY ENJOY THIS ROLE IF... * You're drawn to complex problems, where the technology, the business, and plain organizational inertia are all pulling different ways * You'd rather set an engagement up right at the start than spend it undoing decisions that got made without you * You're the person people come to when a decision is hard enough that nobody else wants to own it * You're equally comfortable in an executive conversation and in a detailed technical discussion with engineers * You're at your best bringing order to ambiguity, and helping people find a way forward when priorities are fighting each other ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY STATEMENT We believe that no one should be discriminated against because of their differences.
