The opportunity Join Hitachi Energy as a Technical Solution Owner for HVDC Control & Protection Cyber Security. You will play a key role in defining and implementing robust cybersecurity solutions for critical infrastructure. How you’ll make an impact Lead the end-to-end technical definition, architecture, and design of cybersecurity solutions for HVDC C&P systems. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications. Research and recommend cybersecurity technologies aligned with industry standards and compliance. Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship during implementation phases. Ensure compliance with standards such as NERC CIP, IEC 62443, and ISO 27001. Create and maintain detailed technical documentation and facilitate knowledge transfer. Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats and drive continuous improvement. Your background Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field. 8–10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with 3–5 years in ICS/OT or critical infrastructure. Proven experience designing and implementing cybersecurity solutions for HVDC or similar systems. Deep expertise in cybersecurity principles, frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF), and best practices. Proficiency in network security, endpoint security, and data encryption. Familiarity with SIEM systems, incident response, and operating systems (Linux, Windows). Knowledge of HVDC technology, control systems, and communication protocols (IEC 61850, Modbus, DNP3). Preferred certifications: CISSP, CISM, GICSP, GRID, ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Specialist. The opportunity Hitachi Energy HVDC is seeking a highly skilled Project Technical Engineering Specialist Professional to provide advanced technical expertise and leadership within complex Offshore Wind Connection projects. This role involves contributing to the design, development, and implementation of Cybersecurity / Networking solutions across various systems in the Tender / Projects. How you’ll make an impact Lead Cybersecurity & Networking design for IT/OT Systems, Such as High Voltage AC, HVDC, CCTV, Telephone, PIDS, PAGA, etc., to established standards and best practices. Provide expert technical guidance and support to project teams throughout the entire project lifecycle, from concept, base design, detail design, supplier documentation review and confirm the deployment and post-implementation. Conduct in-depth technical analysis, feasibility studies, and risk assessments for proposed engineering solutions. Develop and review technical specifications, architectural designs, and implementation plans. Troubleshoot and resolve highly complex technical issues, providing innovative solutions and recommendations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and sales, to ensure alignment of technical solutions with business objectives. Your background You have at least a university degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience from a comparable position Bachelor's or master’s degree in engineering (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, or related field). 14+ years of progressive experience in technical engineering roles, with a significant portion in project-oriented environments Proven expertise in at least one specialized engineering domain relevant to Hitachi's business (e.g., industrial automation, power systems, IT infrastructure, railway systems, renewable energy) Strong understanding of system architecture, design principles, and software/hardware integration. The Opportunity We are looking for a Regional IT/OT Specialist to support the delivery, operation, and continuous improvement of IT/OT services across factory sites, workshops, and laboratories in Europe within Hitachi Energy’s Service Business. In this role, you will combine hands-on technical expertise with collaboration across teams to ensure reliable and secure operations. You will play a key role in supporting critical systems, enhancing cybersecurity, and acting as a bridge between business stakeholders, vendors, and Group IT.
