Welcome to ISSR Are you an experienced and internationally minded language teacher who is looking for an opportunity to be a part of the International School of the Stockholm region (ISSR) professional team? ISSR is an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) school which offers four IB programmes. The school is a Stockholms stad school and was founded to primarily serve the educational needs of the transient community of Stockholm. Read more about our school: https://internationalschoolofthestockholmregion.stockholm Your Role As a Swedish teacher at ISSR, your position includes teaching Swedish Language Acquisition to students in the Primary Years Programme and the Middle Years Programme. This position requires flexibility and strong collaboration skills. You are an active member of the PYP team as well as the Language Acquisition subject group. All teaching, learning and assessment is based on the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP) curricula. The position is permanent and full-time. Other responsibilities are: Be an advisor to a group of students Plan and collaborate with colleagues across the school Participate in school activities (assemblies, evening events, conferences, etc.) On-going professional development
Your competence and experience A successful candidate is certified for and has experience to teach Swedish Language Acquisition within the IB framework in a primary and/ or middle school setting. You have a strong understanding and application of inquiry and concept-based teaching. You are also flexible and have strong collaboration skills. We are looking for a teacher who has high expectations of the students and brings out the best in every student. As an applicant, you must: be a certified Swedish and/or Swedish as an additional language teacher for primary and/or middle school have a professional level of written and spoken English have documented PYP/MYP IB working experience/ training
