Current projects include oil & natural gas, CO2, hydrogen, and RNG pipelines and facilities.  The Lead Electrical Engineer will achieve business objectives by developing opportunities, executing project work, and acting as the lead SME technical expert within the group.  In this role, the selected candidate will be expected to develop and demonstrate proficiency regarding the essential functions of the job found below. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Direct project team on various assignments as directed by the lead Project Manager providing technical guidance * Recommend and implement design changes per the client’s request * Communicate with clients, regulatory agencies, or public as needed: * Respond to project inquiries. * Serve as liaison between clients and project team members. * Ensure team performance and provide leadership to project teams: * Supervise, advise, and assist assigned project team members. * Foster teamwork within project teams and other teams within the firm. * Maintain professional and technical knowledge * Establish personal networks. * Participate in applicable professional societies and trade associations. * Achieve team performance objectives as well as individual objectives.. * Work closely with other Energy teams within Atwell to take advantage of expertise and share resources. * Willing to travel when necessary EDUCATION * Bachelor’s degree from accredited university in Electrical, Petroleum or related field required * Professional License (PE) highly preferred DAY TO DAY * As the Senior Electrical Engineer, you will manage the Engineering activities related to design for major Oil & Gas / Energy projects (pipelines & facilities) throughout the US and serve as a main point of contact * Every day, you provide engineering technical input into projects at various stages (from feasibility/ preliminary to detailed design), coordinate engineering design efforts with EPC or external consultants to review and comment on design submittals in coordination with support from Atwell subject matter experts and manage and ensure all deliverables meet Project specifications * Additionally, you manage external engineering firms, subcontractors as well as various engineering disciplines (civil, mechanical, structural, etc.) to achieve the highest level of engineering and design for project execution and actively identify all critical risks, issues and impacts of the project specifically the adequate application of and adherence to corporate health & safety and environmental requirements * Review/monitor contractors’ progress and monitor the progress relating to key project milestones * Internal coordination with Development, Engineering, Permitting, GIS and Land group * Assist procurement in running RFPs and managing the process to sub-contractors * Remain up to date on new technologies and regulatory conditions including vendor qualifications, industry best practices, safety standards, and relevant standards development Pay Range - $100,000 - $150,000 base, + bonus.  Disclaimer  While AI tools may support your application process, this role is built on human talent. As a Project Engineer – Electrical & Automation, you will take technical responsibility for electrical and automation solutions in assigned customer projects. You will work close to customers, internal engineering teams, and production, translating customer requirements into robust and compliant design solutions. While you do not have formal personnel responsibility, you will lead the electrical scope in your projects and coordinate others in the delivery. As our production is located in Landskrona, the role is primarily on‑site, with some flexibility for remote work. How you’ll make an impact Take technical ownership of electrical and automation scope in assigned projects, ensuring delivery according to time, budget, and quality requirements. Verify that the electrical design is in accordance with customer specifications, including component selection and solution review. Design automation cabinets, low‑voltage motor control centres (MCC), and junction boxes (typical voltages: 208/400/480/690 VAC and 24–220 VDC). Create and work according to quality documentation such as process maps, work instructions, functional descriptions, and guidelines. Prepare technical specifications for suppliers and manage articles and Bills of Material (BOM) in SAP. Support factory testing, FAT, supplier evaluations, and commissioning activities (SAT), including occasional travel. Provide after‑sales technical support through troubleshooting and solution development when needed. Your background Solid experience in electrical design and automation within relevant industries such as machine manufacturing, process industry, or water and treatment plants. Post‑secondary technical education or equivalent professional experience as an electrical designer, project engineer, lead engineer, or similar role. Proven ability to independently design automation cabinets and motor control systems or other low voltage cabinets using Elprocad or similar electrical CAD tools. Experience working with redundant and high‑availability solutions (e.g. S2, R1, R2 concepts). Good knowledge of applicable standards and regulations such as the Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC), IEC 61439, IEC 61000‑6‑2 / IEC 61000‑6‑4, and CE certification. Strong proficiency in technical English, both written and spoken; Swedish language skills are considered a strong advantage. A structured, communicative, and collaborative mindset, with the ability to take responsibility and lead technical work within projects. Meriting experience Experience with design according to UL / CSA standards. Practical experience with electrical cabinet assembly or automation installation. Experience with PLC, DCS, RTU, IPC, or HMI programming or configuration. Position Summary: We are seeking a full-time Project Engineer at our Stamford, CT location.  This position works directly with the entire Engineering team and collaboratively with other departments, providing leadership and support of new product development. Responsibilities: Manage the development of new products as assigned from concept through prototype, tooling, engineering builds, pilot runs and into mass production. Assure new products meet all approval agency requirements. Travel to Asian suppliers approx. 5% of time and other venues 5% in support of the product development process. Oversee testing and address any issues that arise throughout the product life cycle. Perform supervisory responsibilities of team members in accordance with the company policies, improving the effectiveness of the Engineering team. Utilize the document management system for revising, controlling, and sharing engineering documentation. Essential Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Experience with the design, testing and troubleshooting of new products with at least 5 years of relevant work experience. High computer software competency with 3D modeling experience in Pro-E and/or Solid Works. Minimum 5 years in consumer products or commercial appliances. Experience working with Asian suppliers desirable. 5 to 10 years in consumer goods industry Environmental Factors: Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
