Your role at QRT
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Core Data & Lifecycle Engineering team in Sydney.
This team builds and owns critical systems that sit at the heart of QRT’s trading operations—powering trade and position lifecycle
management, reference data, and reporting workflows across all asset classes. These systems are highly visible and directly
influence trading decisions, risk management, and operational efficiency.
This is primarily a hands-on engineering role (≈80% development), with a smaller component (≈20% support and system ownership)
focused on maintaining robustness, reliability, and data quality in production.
You’ll work closely with trading, research, risk, and operations teams, gaining strong exposure to the business while building
scalable, high-performance systems.

Your future role within QRT The successful candidate will join the global infrastructure team at QRT. You will be responsible for architecting, engineering and subsequent delivery oversight across all aspects of the QRT network estate but with particular focus on our colocation infrastructure. The trading infrastructure is a combination of wide area connectivity and ultra-low latency trading infrastructures. The team will deliver network solutions which enable full lifecycle management (architect, design, build, operate, retire) for our network components across core network switching, firewalls, load balancers, instrumentation/telemetry, network CMDB, and automation. It is crucial that any candidates must be able to demonstrate delivery of complex networks, at scale, which have been delivered through a software and automation-driven mindset. You will have deep knowledge of high-performance networking, including detailed knowledge of the product capabilities and roadmaps from the likes of Cisco, Arista and Fortinet. You will have direct experience of delivering and managing network solutions supporting corporate infrastructure and exchange specific ultra-low latency infrastructure with associated automation, telemetry and instrumentation frameworks. Your present skillset * As a senior network engineer, you will partner closely with the project management teams and work in a highly collaborative manner within the network team and the wider organisation * You will be member of an existing engineering team where you have direct responsibility and accountability for a complex and high-performance network infrastructures * You will be able to demonstrate expert knowledge of delivering complex network architectures delivered via software driven and agile methodology * You will have deep knowledge of delivering networks supporting high-performance and low latency computing architectures * You will have deep knowledge of the network vendor ecosystem and be able to demonstrate building engineering relationships at senior layers with vendor product and engineering teams * You will stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the network infrastructure remains cutting-edge * You will have knowledge of wide area network engineering focused on traffic prioritisation and steering. You're used to building value in competitive situations and enjoy working on products that require deep product understanding, combined with technical knowledge. You're as comfortable working with clients as with internal stakeholders (including executives). You're excited to become an expert and to share your knowledge. You're an organized self-starter, an excellent communicator who is detail-oriented and has a track record for improving the processes and organizations around you. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * 8+ years of sales or prospecting experience at a technology company and a track record of top performance * Owning a direct sales quota, with direct sales experience closing new business and expanding existing users * A proven ability to build strong collaborative working relationships with business partners * The ability to deal with ambiguity and thrive in an unstructured, fast-moving environment * A proven ability to be a self-starter capable of driving business results without significant supervision * A hands-on mentality * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Strong presentation skills, particularly for in-person meetings with multiple stakeholders * Proven ability to lead complex negotiations involving bespoke commercial agreements * Ability to understand complex technical requirements and craft solutions across multiple stakeholders PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * * 5+ years of experience selling financial services or similar software * Experience in selling billing solutions * Proven ability to sell in a fast-paced environment

Your future role within QRT * Act as a key point of contact for the APAC region and ensure effective collaboration with the global team * Understand and analyse business requirements. This includes working with traders, and other stakeholders to determine their requirements for trading platforms, risk management systems * Use data analysis tools to gather and analyse financial data * Project coordination with different teams, such as IT, Operations, and external vendors. Act as a liaison between the IT department and business units * Contribute to IT incident management process ensuring best practice incident response and follow up * Continuously seek ways to improve business processes and systems efficiency Your present skillset * 7+ years' relevant experience in a business analysis or technical role within a buy side or investment firm * Strong leadership and project management skills, with the capability to lead and manage complex projects from inception to completion * Incident Management skills, both incident response and incident follow up.
