The Brewery Sales Representative is responsible for growing and managing PCB’s wholesale sales and market presence based on specific sales goals, increasing brand awareness and product representation at on and off-premise retail accounts, with distributor partners, and at festivals and events throughout their assigned distribution territory. This position will also assist in the sales and distribution of Public Coast Farm (PCF) produce and products to markets and restaurant outlets, working primarily in the greater Portland market and surrounding communities, with trips to the coast as needed. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned) Wholesale Market Management Public Coast Brewing Co.: * Analyze past performance of accounts and develop sales plan with specific goals for each account in order to increase overall distribution and rate of sale of PCB products. Review regularly with Operations Manager. * Develop monthly accounts and sales report and review with Operations Manager and key team members. * Demonstrate knowledge of competitive products placement and pricing. * Plan and execute on and off-premise promotions as required based upon account promotion plan and expectations. * Represent PCB at various community events, festivals, markets, supporting and promoting PCB’s mission and company culture. Public Coast Farm: * Review current distribution and develop plan and goals for increasing overall distribution and rate of sales of PCF produce and products with current and new accounts. * Partner with the Culinary Director and key team members to drive product development, placement, and seasonal programming that supports sales growth. Business Partner Management * Ensure all state and federal laws pertaining to the sale, merchandising and promotion of malt beverages are maintained. * Develop, manage and execute marketing and brand awareness programs with Marketing Director to support placements, including promotions, food pairings, tastings, merchandising, POS, and special events. * Ensure that all invoices are accurate and timely while also assisting AR in collections if needed. Operate effectively within company and budgetary guidelines. Company and Product Branding * Educate distributor sales personnel and decision makers at accounts regarding products and pricing. * Organize and execute wait-staff/bartender educations, tastings, dinners & promotional events to promote new products or enhance potential sales of existing products. * Follow up accounts to ensure our beers are properly labeled, represented, stored and served to our standards. (One-pager on beer and distribution standards). Administrative Duties * Communicate regularly with production staff regarding orders, trends, seasonal considerations and any sales related issues including weekly market visit recaps. * Complete and submit weekly work & travel logs, including reimbursable receipts per PCB’s format and accountable plan, to the supervisor. * Handle customer inquiries regarding product info and other questions. * Develop monthly accounts/territories and sales report and review with Operations Manager and key team members. * Coordinate with delivery driver to efficiently and timely deliver products to accounts. * Education and Experience: * Working knowledge of the craft beer industry & 3-tier system. * At least two years of sales or customer service experience in the alcoholic beverage industry and experience with distributor practices preferred. * Track record of excellence in sales. * Basic knowledge of beer and craft beverage offerings (flavors, ingredients, brewing process, etc.) to answer questions from customers, as well as conduct tastings. Compensation: * Base salary plus quarterly incentive will be based on meeting or exceeding sales goals as agreed upon by Operations Manager. Special Requirements: * Must have ability and willingness to maintain flexible work schedules, as weekend and extended workdays are necessary. * Extensive driving required, including overnight stays, at times. * Must have valid Driver's License, current insurance coverage and clean driving record. * Cicerone, or other Beer certification strongly preferred, OLCC server permit required.
